Hello, hello, hello and welcome back to yet another live episode of Electricpreneur Secrets, the Electrician's Podcast. I'm Clay Neumeier, With me, as always, my esteemed co-host, joseph Lucani, and we are the Electricpreneurs just a couple of master electricians with business addictions, here and ready to serve, serve, who Serve you. If you're an electrician, if you're an electricpreneur, if you're looking to master your sales, simplify your pricing and deliver premium level electrical service, then you are in the right place, my friend, and we are absolutely ready to crush another episode, this time talking about a bit of a hot topic. Really, the only time you should ever ask for business help is if you have absolute clarity on the path forward Before we get right into it. Joe, how are you doing today, brother?
Man, I'm feeling really really, really good and I love when we do these live because we get to really just communicate the current, present feelings that we have. We had an awesome class this morning. It was like a really good heartfelt moment. It really kind of bonded with our clients and it left me feeling really good. And then we had another session with one of our platinum clients who, man, it's really great when you see the gears just shift and people get it and they understand and suddenly it's like, okay, now I'm ready to take the next level. So it made me feel really good. I'm feeling inspired and I can't wait yeah it's an aha moment.
You ever learned something and you realize, like gosh, if I had spent enough time just thinking about this, if I just slowed down and thought about this a while, I could have figured that out I have a story about that.
If you give me 15 seconds, I'll tell you the exact situation okay.
well, here's what I want to ask before you tell the story, If you're watching us live, if you're engaging with us or not engaging. Yet go ahead and engage with us, Tell us, have you had help in your business before? It is a big burner of a question I have we have. We've done this. We've helped many in their businesses. Let's just talk about it for a minute.
Go ahead, joe, share your story. Yeah, no. So it's one of those situations where you're like when is the right time to ask for help? One of these moments where it's like if only I had taken a little more time to be educated, I could have saved so much time. Me and my former partner, we were putting together a dryer and we're working on it, we're helping him install in his home and it's we're doing. It's late. It is like late, late. We took way longer than we thought it was going to, because we're actually ducting it out and it's somewhere around two, three in the morning.
If this shows how crazy we were and we're like I don't know how we're going to get this pipe connected. It's just it's here and we're going to have to route it over and literally we went behind it and we touched it and it twisted and we're like, wait a second, this pipe flexed the whole time. We could have just flexed it and routed it out. We didn't have to redo the whole thing and it was just looking at each other like, yep, we should have done a little more research on this ahead of time. So yeah, I wanted to just say, if you have a thing that you want to know more about and you're wondering whether you need to ask for help. I'm sitting here like, yeah, it doesn't have to be just with electric. You can ask for help with anything and I guarantee it makes your life better. No reason to go things alone anymore 100%, man, 100%.
Here's why this episode is so important, I think, because I see people, and when I see this, like in my own household, even it alarms me. We see people in our family and friends networks or online and in our different places for electricians right we see people kind of taking from all these places or people actually pressuring with their guidance that isn't necessarily attached to a proven process or something that's effectively implemented in the sense of like here's a process. If we follow this from a to b, here's the expected result and that really follows the scientific method closely, but here's something that would throw science every time. Okay, here are a bunch of external variables, a bunch of different people all contributing to the experiment, bringing everything together to this modge podge of like. You know, it's great in art to see this on the page, but in implementation and business it's not a good idea, because what we end up is with no idea what expected result we'll have, and then the measurement of said result is absolutely useless, and so all the time and energy that goes into things like that, completely defeated, we don't know what to work on next. As Michael Michalowicz pointed out in his book Fix this Next so important to stay calibrated and in a direction. So can I share quick a situation that I had this morning excuse me that I had this morning that literally became a catalyst for this. Yeah, I'd love to hear, bro, what'd you got?
As you know, and as many of you know, watching this with us listening after the fact, we subscribe to coaching. Here is the reason why and the only times we do I can see someone demonstrating something that I or we ourselves want to achieve, and I don't want to invest the time to have to learn it myself, all the while wondering if I'm meeting the expected results or if I'm missing something. That is so painful. And so there's some fresh stuff coming up for us. There's some things in our next levels of business that I'm like, hey, I've been watching for this, austin's been watching this, you've been watching for this. Our whole team's got their eyes peeled for these certain next qualities that we're looking to fulfill, and we found some of those qualities to an extent in the last 24 hours. I haven't even had time to fill joe in about this fully, guys, so he's all right like wondering literally coming at me live talk about it.
So I found this, this guy, this group and the. The evidence was overwhelming. He's scrolling testimony after this works at all these different levels and he said something magic. He said here's someone that followed this process and they made $1.3 million in a month. Then he said the magic words this was a cherry-picked testimony. Don't even apply if you think you're gonna hit 1.3 million a month. This is one of the best. Is it possible? Yes, proven. But does it mean you'll hit it? No, not at all. But here's a bunch of other testimonies from the best of the best to to just like we made it, and that, to me, is the real proof, someone that can be real and told tell you to hold on a minute, just like our own sales process. I'm rambling, it's probably too much of a monologue. Anyway, the guys stood me up, joe here. Here's what they actually did. They go. I got an email this morning. I was expecting to jump on the call and it was a cancellation. And he said oh, you work with electricians, we don't service that market.
Big surprise right like it's insane, what yeah hey, you know, could I just say that was actually. I'm glad you took it that way, because it's actually the biggest fluke on the planet that that happened, because they absolutely service our market. They didn't understand our market, though they didn't understand what we're doing. So go ahead, brother.
Yeah, no, it's one of those things where I get very animated when people say we don't work with electricians. Because for someone who spent so many years trying to learn specifically the electrical processes and how to develop them and really implementing them from everyone I've learned from it's hard. And then when you're finding someone who says I don't work with your type of people or I don't work with your industry, it's like well, where are we supposed to go? That's why I love being here and working with you, because if nothing else we like, at least we do. We want to work with electricians, we're for electricians and by electricians.
So if someone's going to stand you up because of what we do not about it and and I'm always looking for when I'm looking at different consultants, coaches, people that take us to the next level. I want people who are congruent with what we do, with what alex hermosi does with this, this way to market yourself, right? We called the podcast Electric Printer Secrets because we want to give all the secrets away. I want you guys to be informed. I want you to know us and know how we have our hearts on our sleeves and we get a little passionate and worked up and monologue sometimes, because I don't want anyone to ever come and ask us for help, not knowing that we're a fit to work together. Right, if you win, we win. That's the way this works, and so I can appreciate that in other service providers who help in this highly competitive right, highly overrated industry of coaching and mentoring people to their better place.
Here's why I say those those words too. I think it's really important to point out that we're human, and just because we jump on this podcast, on the screen and share some shit we learned doesn't mean we are not human. We are human and, just like you guys, sometimes the hardest thing in the day is just the a to b, just that consistent little activity I just got to take this step and some days it's so fucking hard joe if I can just say it's so fucking hard that the next step is small, it's like, okay, what I need to do is just lift a weight right now. What I need to do is just clean up my desk right now. It's so small because you need a little wind just to get through this little barrier that you're feeling. Have you ever felt that, brother?
so much so that I love lists. Lists areists, are my things right. But there's an actual function of Google Note where what it does is, rather than checking a box and it gets removed, you check a box and it strikes it out so you can see it checked off the list. So the benefit is for me. I'm like, oh, all right, I look at the end of the day. I'm like, okay, great, look at all the things I checked off my list. Even if they're small, I checked off all of this off my list. Great, now I can tackle the big thing because I've got this momentum going momentum yeah I'm right there with you snowball effect.
Right, they talk about this in debts too, and I always forget the guy's name. Is it ramsey? Someone's going to help me in the chats and thank you guys for all the comments today. Absolutely, we're here with you live right now. I'm sure it's Ramsey. Anyway, he talks about this.
You don't start with the interest rate. You start with the smallest debt because of what it makes of you to pay it off. If you're in debt, you might want to re-listen to that. Really think through that. If you're looking at your to-do list, as Joe just mentioned, you might want to visit it in that way. What's my biggest priority that can get done today, that I can do right now, that I can delegate right now? All right, we're getting off topic a little bit Ramsey, thank you guys. Guys, if you're not engaging with us live in the Facebook group, you're missing out, because these guys rock. We have a ton of fun in that group. Joe's been sparking some great conversations. I see some fresh interviews coming. We were just talking about that. I'm excited for this stuff and not to mention quick timeout for a little bit of a service announcement.
We just did a massive recording on what we call advanced options deep dive yesterday and options review, and what we released today in our action post to help you with building your options is a literal 10 minute video from that little excerpt where Joe's deep diving. The wizard of options himself that's Joe's new name. Do you guys like that? The wizard of options? The wizard of options himself going through observations all the way down to the most basic option that was provided by a client who actually sold gold. There's no branding on it, none of that. Just straight to the facts how to set that up and how to win at a greater level. So really helpful there, guys. So go ahead, join us in the group. Go ahead and grab that. If you're not on Facebook, go to the website servicelooplelectricalcom. You can reach us there as well. Oh my gosh. So I got stood up this morning, joe. Yeah, that's pretty wild that that happened.
Here's the kind of assertive person I am. I've told you guys about this. When someone presents options to me, if it's not done right, I can be assertive and throw people off their game. I emailed the guy back and I said respectfully, because I saw this on talladega nights. I think will ferrell. He says respectfully and then he called his boss a cocksucker excuse my french and the guy's like you can't say that I'm your boss and he goes.
Well, I said respectfully, anyway, respectfully, I think you're making a mistake. I know what we were looking for and you demonstrate those qualities. You've shown clearly that you have results in this field and we want to do the things that you guys do guys do. And he emailed me back again and he was like I just need to be clear here. Are you sure you're x, y and z? Because if so, I'd be happy to book a call with you later, to which I replied big ending to this story. You burned my only slot on my calendar, you jerks. We're looking next week. Now. That's my rant, joe. That's the story of the day.
It feels good, though. You know what I mean. I've had rants where I'm complaining about my flooring and flooring contractors before, so you know what. You get a little light to complain about people who burn your schedule. We get these moments. It's the benefit of running a podcast, right?
Yeah, man, I've been spilling a lot of my beans. I've been spilling a lot of my beans. Tell me, in your electrical business, when you were growing, how did you guys know it was time?
to hire your first coach. So, realistically, we know that we want to learn, but we realized that there was a cap to what we already knew. I remember in year one I had a background from the previous company I had worked in. They had taught me about selling generators and they had taught me about like operating these things. But I only had gotten $90,000 in my first year Like, not salary, I'm saying total company revenue was like $90,000 and I was paying myself $300 a month.
It was a miserable existence and I realized it was like okay, I probably could do this for the next five years and get to a place where all the processes will be organized and everything will be set up and we'll just figure it out. I was like or I could take the bullet and bite it and figure out how I can get this done faster. And if I don't have more time, I need to learn in more, I need to learn from other people's experiences. And that was our decision. It was like, okay, we're gonna look and find people who can teach us something that we can learn from. And we found our coaches and we've worked with many over the years. But the benefit was is you just have to realize that you have a deficit in knowledge and you can say to yourself, well, I could either take the time and develop it myself and learn everything and learn it from scratch, I was like, or I can find models that people have already done successfully and I could just jump the step.
So why wouldn't people want to do the and I think the only answer to that is full circle back is why we did it this way. Give the information away, show the character, be present for the community and those who want and like and know and trust. You will align, and that's where the best symbiotic wins come from. Anyways, that's what we're looking for in a coach and it's what we hope you would look for in a coach. So the fact that you get to listen, the fact that in fact let me put it this way the fact that I know every day people will listen to our podcast and go nah, not for me. I'm like yes, yes, that means it works.
It's good that people disqualify themselves, and this is important for you as well. You wouldn't want to learn from someone you don't like. You wouldn't want to spend an inordinate amount of time with someone you didn't like. Results are no results, and I've heard that from other people. With other coaches, I personally have had the good fortune of working with people that I really liked, but it kind of takes that little bit of. They have to be aligned in this way so that they're also sharing this in their marketing, so that you can see the real people behind the scenes so important.
So when it comes to you and your electrical biz not that I'm soliciting any sort of direct opinion on your business, because I'm just speaking to the space I know you're there, but if you're hearing this and thinking about this, well how do I know If you're thinking about, if you know if it's us or not? It's simple you put your hand up, you grab a value piece. You look at the information that we give. It's actually from the programs that we teach and if it helps you or you feel like it's aligned with the direction you're going to go, then it's as easy as that. You put your hand up, you get on a call, you have a chat with us. If you know this is not where I'm going, that's not the direction my business is headed, then I'm so happy, you know your direction and I'll be happy to help you find the right person for you. That's how committed we are to that. I'd love anything to add to that, joe.
You know, I like the fact that it's we're also doing what we preach, because what we'll do is we also talk about when we go to our second call closes and we try to present it as listen I, if I'm not clearly the right fit, like if I'm not a hundred percent the right fit, if I had the stars literally align over the kitchen table and I had the perfect solution at the right price and you still didn't want it, I would still stay here. I would throw my presentation against the wall and I would stay here and help you go through your other proposals so we can figure out who is the right fit. And I would do that without even factoring myself into the equation, because we truly want to serve our client and I love that we're emulating that here, because we want to serve you regardless of who you go to. If you don't feel like it's with us, that's fine, If you do, even better. But regardless, we will never stop serving the electrical community because we want all of us to succeed 100%, brother.
If there's one thing I could say that came out of the good for my email and canceled meeting interaction earlier. That story I told is that I recognized that this company tried to disqualify someone. They were worried wasn't a fit, and I can get behind that. I think that's an important part of the process. It's not about money collection, it's about great relationships. Those are stakeholders to your business. That's so important.
Guys, if you didn't catch it earlier, there is an incredible value piece going around today from the Wizard of Options himself, my partner right over here. We did this video and literally we extracted 10 minutes where we go through a set of six options that literally sold gold just two weeks ago from an actual client submission. There's no names or or branding attached, excuse me, but we're sticking to the facts. Joe's going to give you real information about how to word those observations, the order they should be in, what's too much, what's not enough, how to link it directly to your top option and then working in a review from that top down to let you know that spacing and the information is all correct. To truly offer six options from the finest money could buy to the most bare bones you could possibly offer.
I think that's so important for anyone interested in options to get a hold of. So all you have to do if you're live with us on this electric printer page is type a one in the comments. I'm going to tag Austin and make sure he helps you guys out too to get that. That's coming with our six option secrets value piece that's been totally updated as of today as well. Gosh, I love helping our community job.
Amen to that brother. I gotta admit it's one of those really good moments where and honestly, the post I made was talking about how humbled I felt, because when we can give away free information and it can impact the lives of others, that's like lighting someone else's candle I never know whose candle that person will then light. I want them to take the information and share it. Let's grow everyone who comes in contact with it. So I'm just happy that people are getting wins even if it's for free 100%.
We got to crank out a couple of options, action items. I'm in options mode here. We're going to crank out a couple of actions, and then we got to say goodbye to our friends here today. Okay, there's something I've got to say.
it's got to be one of the actions, okay go for it, take it please, the name of this episode the only time to ask for biz help but I'm gonna, I'm gonna curveball this a bit and say the only time to even take business help is when it is solicited. What I mean by that is it's worth as much as you pay for it. It's worth as much as you ask for it, like if you didn't ask for it, if it's unsolicited and it's just a rapid fire of a bunch of people giving you little nuggets here and there to do something with, but none of them are actually proven working together. Please do not take that advice. I would much rather you sit back on a whiteboard, take an hour in the morning, take an hour in the evening, whatever time it is, take two hours if you need it, and draw out your own little vision map.
What's your roadmap? Where are you headed? How are you going to get this thing to the next level? What does the next level look like? And then grab the advice or the mentorship or the coaching or whatever level you want to come in at. That's specific to that journey. Please do yourselves that favor, because that's the only time you should be looking for help is to reduce that journey and make sure you see results on it. Do you have something to add to that, joe? I?
do? I got an all-star. If we want to set that, as a basic.
Do you have?
something to add to that? Joe, I do. I got an all-star, if we want to set that as a basic. Okay.
So the all-star action is more of a personal reflection, because the kind of person you are today means that you're going to need a coach to accommodate that type of person. But as you grow, your needs may grow, your vision may grow, your business may grow and it's possible you could even outgrow the coach. Your vision may grow, your business may grow and it's possible you could even outgrow the coach. What that means is that you yourself have to imagine that you're constantly in a state of reflection. Am I learning something that's helping my industry? Am I learning something that's helping my business? Does this make me feel good when I'm doing this? Is it constantly in alignment for where I'm trying to go? If the answer is yes, then great. You stay with that coach and you show your loyalty. If you find that you're no longer in alignment with values or beliefs or ethics or whatever it is, then that's okay. Enjoy what you've learned and then move on to the next vision.
So the moral of the story of this all-star action is getting a coach isn't supposed to be a ball and chain, it's supposed to be the key that unlocks it. You want to be free and, as a result, we don't plan on having someone stay with us forever. I want them to learn so much so that they don't need us anymore. That's how we operate. If you succeed to the point where you don't need us anymore, that's how we operate. If you succeed to the point where you don't need our advice, then great, that's amazing, and I can't stress how proud of you all be. But until you don't need it, know that I hands up and I'm happy to serve.
Wow, you just hot mic this Joe and at the same time, you just described leadership 101. That was so powerful. So even if you're not looking for help if it's not us maybe you need help just finding who it is, or you're just thinking about how to lead your team better. There's a lot of value here in this today. So thank you for joining us on our mission to rise the tide for all electricpreneurs to get off the bottom, to get up and climb to our next level, so we help you master your sales, simplify your pricing and deliver premium level electrical service. We'll see you again next week.
Can't wait, looking forward to it.
