Today, our hosts, Amy Vodarek and Dan Winter, are speaking with a special guest, Nicole Stibbe, the founder and CEO of the consulting organization Soulwork Alliance. Soulwork helps develop forward-thinking organizations committed to advancing their companies by prioritizing the diversity of thought background and capabilities of their people.
While Nicole enjoyed her early work as a consultant, she found herself asking about the impact of that work on others. She began to realize there's so much more we can be doing to impact the wellbeing of employees, as well as promote thriving and engagement, and how that can impact employees. It's more than putting a well-being strategy in place. Well-being is actually so closely tied to DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and that’s how her organization, Soulwork Alliance, was born.
Nicole does not develop DEI strategies in isolation. She believes an effective strategy should touch all of the programs and operations within an organization, especially company leadership. It is the leaders that often need the most engagement.
Until leaders have the tools and resources to actually be great leaders thriving in their own capacity, we will always have challenges with employees trying to thrive, as well as with leaders trying to mentor and coach those employees. That’s why Nicole works to create an environment for leaders to grow and self-reflect on their own inclusive leadership skills.
Nicole shares with us the most common challenges she faces when working with companies and how she tries to bridge the disconnect between what leaders think is going on in their organization and what she hears from their people.
If we can build leaders that can be aware, vulnerable, and ask questions, we're going to have some great employees. And I've seen it–It just takes some time to get there.
The same amount of dedication and focus that you have on your sales team or bringing in profits is the exact same level of dedication and focus you need to have on your human resource strategies, including your DEI strategy.
If you're looking to expand your leadership influence, shift your results, and develop a highly engaged, accountable team, we’d love to talk to you. Schedule a conversation with an Altus Team Member here: https://altusgrowthpam.as.me/Zoom30min
