Spring Cleaning and the Quest for Perfection

Spring Cleaning and the Quest for Perfection

It is that time of year, spring had sprung and it's time to clean. As I spent time thinking about what I wanted to clean this year, it struck me. Too often I try to be perfect. I want my house and my life to be perfect. I feel judged if I am a mess. But, this leads to not allowing people into my life when I need them the most. Our lives don’t have to be perfect to let people in. What if we owned our mess? What if we leaned into the fact that it shows progress and a willingness to change? How would our lives be different? Life is a process, it is messy and raw. There is beauty in the mess, we learn and grow from the mess. Your mess, your imperfections might help someone not feel so alone. Let’s set aside the perfection of Instagram and lean into the imperfections. Let’s own our mess. It’s a reflection that learning is happening, we are changing and developing. Isn’t that what life is all about, change and development?
