Quotes:
Sometimes, I feel like I live in a zoo. A zoo where the animals are running the show. We are so busy and life is so chaotic right now. There are days where I'm just managing the chaos. I'm pulled in every direction and it is all I can do to keep the animals moving in the right direction. Now you want to hear the secret?
Something that I learned a long time ago. You can't do it all, but with some strategic planning, you can have it all. You need to adjust your expectations. You need to prioritize your time, find places where you can take the easy way out. You take the easy way out on something so that you have time to invest in what matters most to you.
And what that looks like in your daily life is completely up to you. So for me eating dinner together as a priority, but I do not have time to plan meals that is completely unmanageable. So we turn to resources to streamline that process. Yes. We have resources that tell us what to buy, how much to buy and what to cook.
I do this to save time. I take the easy way out and planning the meals so that I can have the time to cook the dinner and spend time with my children. It's okay to take the easy way out. It's okay. To be strategic in your planning. And it's okay to admit that you can't do it all, but you can still have it all depending on what all means to you.
So what do you want and what resources are available to help you get that, pour your time and energy into what matters the most and be willing to let other things go. That by far is the biggest lesson I've learned in the past few years. So here's my challenge to you make a list of what you really want and then make a list of where you can sacrifice, find ways to ease the burden.
So that you can pour into what you care about. Go ahead and buy cupcakes rather than make them reuse a Halloween outfit, rather than finding one from scratch. Do what works for you. And most importantly, give yourself permission to take the easy way out. You know, you have a friend that needs to hear this.
So go ahead and share this podcast with a friend. And that moment was for you. So go make someone else's day.
