You're listening to my morning devotional podcast, episode 1087. Today's Devo is called God is just. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Good morning, everybody, and happy Tuesday. We are so glad that you have come back to spend this five minutes with us. We really are grateful that you take, even if it's just five minutes of your day, to join us and for us just to learn about God more and more every single day. My name is Rochelle Alessi, and I'll be your host for this week. This week we are talking about the a little bit of the attributes of God and I. Yesterday we talked about God being a provider, but today we're going to talk about God being just. And I feel like sometimes this one might be.
00:01:02.567 --> 00:01:39.829
God's character of justice might go unnoticed. And it's so powerful. And I would love to share about it a little bit because we all might be experiencing God's justice in our life and we just don't even know it. So I want to go into the verse, which is psalm 80 914, and it says, righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Steadfast love and faithfulness go before you. I thought this was so powerful because we've all seen many shows with kings and all these different empires and men of power, and they always show their throne.
00:01:39.989 --> 00:01:43.822
And that's like a representation of, you know, who they are.
00:01:44.006 --> 00:02:49.945
But here the psalmist is saying that God's foundation of his throne is righteousness and justice. And that just spoke so deeply for me because at the base of who God is, he is just, which means our God is fair. Our God sees it all. And when somebody is just, that just means that they also have an abundance of wisdom that we cannot even imagine. Because to be able to be just, you also have to have wisdom. And our God is so wise that he brings just justice at the right time, in the right places. And there's also this other verse that I love that says, God is fair and just. He corrects them, is misdirected, and he sends them in the right direction. And that's such a beautiful picture that even if we are struggling, the justice of God comes right in to help us to correct us to put us in the right path. The justice of God is not this fear of like, oh, because you were bad, you're going to be punished.
00:02:50.018 --> 00:04:03.889
It's not just that, but God is just, which means if there's something that's not being done right, God is going to come on in, he is going to correct it. It's going to be put in order and in that we are going to have such a free life because we are experiencing that. And if today you feel like you are in a situation where you've been mistreated or things that have happened to you are not fair, maybe at work, you know, the people, the wrong people are being promoted and you've been working hard and you've been doing everything that you can and it's just not fair. I just encourage you today to not look at the human and the person who's doing the unfair thing. I pray that the person doing that does not disappoint you or discourage you for continuing to do the right thing. Because at the end of the day, you serve God and you serve a just God, which means if there's a situation that is not correct, God at the right time will come and bring order in that situation. But our jobs are to stay faithful to God and to believe in God. And it's not on us to have revenge, to take revenge against somebody or be mad at someone.
00:04:04.050 --> 00:04:18.601
We have to put our mind in our eyes on God, not on our bosses or the human people that might be hurting us. We just have to say, God, you are. Just so I know in the right time, in due time, you will come and you will put order.
00:04:18.665 --> 00:05:32.110
But right now, in this time, I will serve you and I will give you my all. I will not stop working hard because I know who I serve and I know who I work for. And this almost ties into yesterday. God is your provider. So no matter what, you're serving God. So even on earth, when there's chaos and unfairness, you need to look to God because he's your provider and he's just and he will take care of you. So let's just pray today, Father God, we just want to thank you for your justice. We want to thank you because you do right and you bring order and every single place that we step in. So we just pray right now, Lord, that your justice will take place in every single area of our life, Father, that if there is an area where we have to be better, that you will come in, you will correct us, and that you will set us in the right path. We also pray if there's any situations that we are on that are just hard to get through because we feel like they're not fair. Father, I just pray that you just remind us today that we serve you and that you will take care of us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
00:05:33.250 --> 00:05:36.730
So there you have it. Your five minute daily dose of heaven.
00:05:36.850 --> 00:05:54.089
