You're listening to the my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1095. Today's Devo is called my steps are ordered. Hey there. We're the Alessis, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time.
00:00:22.013 --> 00:00:32.973
That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the my morning Devotional podcast. Well, good morning. Happy Friday, everybody.
00:00:33.021 --> 00:01:03.045
We made it to the end of a great week and I hope you all had an amazing week. I'm your host, finishing up the week of my morning Devo. Gabby Lessie and I have been so encouraged and just so enjoying this entire week. And thank you guys so much for all of your feedback, your posts. Gosh, I love this family because we are constantly encouraging each other. But what I love mostly is that we don't let the Devo just bless us. We share this Devo. And so we see the post.
00:01:03.118 --> 00:02:07.998
We see how you guys are sharing it with your friends and continue to post about it, continue to share, because it's just such a blessing for us to see how our community is growing and just doing more and more to help others. And I think it's incredible. I'm excited today, guys, because quick little side note, my church just came out with a new ep, the Metrolife worship album or Ep. I am super excited. Go listen to it. I don't want to, like, toot my own horn, but you might hear me singing on it, so go and listen. It's. That's not the point of this episode, but I just want to put that in there because that's why I'm excited today. And I am upbeat and energized because it's Friday and you should go listen to it and let us know what you think. But we're going to jump into the word of God today. Psalms 37 23 and verse 24 in the NIv. And it says this, the Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him. Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. Another translation will say, the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord.
00:02:08.174 --> 00:02:56.533
And I just love this verse because it's such an encouragement to me, and I hope it encourages you today, that it's just a reminder of what we're walking into. The new doors, the new opportunities, the new seasons. Guys, God's already ordered our steps. He's already planned it. He has it on his calendar way before we have it on our calendar. You know, this verse blessed me, and it's been on my heart recently because as a youth minister, every august we have a new class of seniors that graduate and go to college. And there's been one girl that in our group, in our youth group, she's actually moving to New York. And it's been a bittersweet transition for her because she really loves the church, she really loves our family here and the community at Metro youth.
00:02:56.701 --> 00:03:40.165
But God opened up this door for her to go to New York and go to college. And it's really significant because really, that was one of the only schools that was one of the opportunities that actually accepted her. And so her and I were having a conversation recently, and, you know, anytime you get up to leave, you go to a new season. You're always questioning, you're battling with Lord, is this right for me? You know, and we sat down and I said, you know, I think it's unique that this is the door that opened to you, because I do believe if God wanted you elsewhere, he would have opened another door, but he opened this one. And what this should show you and encourage you is that God has already ordered your steps. He has made your steps firm. And so that should encourage you.
00:03:40.277 --> 00:03:54.342
And for her, she was so blessed by it. And I just keep praying that over her. And I know as she's walking in the season of college, her freshman year, she can be reminded that God has made her steps. God has established her step. He has ordered her steps.
00:03:54.445 --> 00:04:24.382
And the same is true for all of us today. Whatever you're walking into, whatever you're walking in right now, if you're on your way to work, if you're on your way to school, whatever it is, God has established your steps. God has ordered your steps. And hey, we might stumble. Not we might, we will stumble. I probably stumbled already today, but we're not going to fall because God upholds us. But remember, it does say this in this verse. It's those who delight in him.
00:04:24.526 --> 00:04:39.447
So here's our challenge. We can be confident that God's going to order our steps. We can be confident that even though we stumble, he's going to pick us back up because he holds us. But what we do on our end, our end of the bargain is delight in him.
00:04:39.624 --> 00:05:09.814
Spend time with God today. Take this weekend as a weekend with you and the Lord. Wake up earlier tomorrow morning and read his word. Stay up a little bit later tonight and read his word. Put on the Metrolife worship album and spend some time with the Lord today and delight in him because he's already ordered our steps. He's already established us. He is picking us up. He's ready to pick us up when we fall, but let's delight in him today.
00:05:09.982 --> 00:05:39.677
Lord, we thank you for this week. What a beautiful week we have had and what a beautiful conclusion to the end of this week. Jesus, we just pray that you would continue to order our steps. We thank you that you've already planned this out, God. You've already ordered our steps. You've already made them known and made them firm, God, and that you are always there, ready to pick us up when we fall. You uphold us, Lord, but I pray that all of us this next weekend can spend some time delighting in you.
00:05:39.814 --> 00:05:54.300
I pray all of us can get a little bit closer to you. We can shake off the worry, shake off the fear and the stress of what's next for us, God, because we can be confident knowing you have ordered our and we thank you for it. In Jesus name, amen.
00:05:55.000 --> 00:05:58.480
So there you have it, your five minute daily dose of heaven.
00:05:58.600 --> 00:06:15.839
