You're listening to my Morning Devotional podcast, episode 1167. Today's Devo is called Prophecies Fulfilled. Hey there. We're the Alessi's, a ministry family working together in our church in Miami, Florida. And if you're like us, when days get busy and to do lists get longer, it can be hard to find devotional time. That's why we've partnered with our friend Allison to produce a five minute daily dose of heaven. This is the My Morning Devotional Podcast. Good morning everybody and Merry Christmas. I hope that you're having a wonderful time with your family, wherever you are. So today I want to do a devo, and let's do it a little quick because I know that today's a very special day, but I know that you are here to still get your word in. So let's do it. I'm going to be reading Matthew 2,

00:00:50.725 --> 00:01:01.884
15. And it says, when he had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. Get up, he said, take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt.

00:01:02.012 --> 00:02:22.966
Stay there until I tell you. For Herod is going to search for the child to kill him. So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet out of Egypt, I called my son. These verses are so powerful because you see that from the moment Jesus was born, prophecies were fulfilled. We didn't have to wait for Jesus to be 30 years old for prophecies to become real. But it was truly from the moment that he was born that all these events started to happen. And the word of God just came even more alive. And people got to see how amazing and real God was. He was fulfilling his prophecies. And the Jews knew these prophecies. These prophecies were the ones that they all grew up hearing, the words that they held onto, that they passed down to generation to generation. It's amazing how we have stories of our grandfathers, of our fathers, and stories that we want to pass down to our kids. And Jesus prophecies were stories that the Jews carried through generations. And during this time here, they were prophecies were coming to pass.

00:02:23.117 --> 00:03:36.979
And so I just encourage you today to continue to have faith, to keep the story of Jesus alive in your home and let this be a story that you pass down to your children and that your children pass down to their children. Because we know that Jesus was a gift. And this is the reason why we celebrate Christmas today. So let's pray. Dear Father God, we just want to bless you today. Thank you for the gift of your son and thank you for Christmas. I pray Father that you will bless every single family listening today. I pray that you will give them abundant joy. I pray that this year will be a year of memories, of beautiful memories with families and their kids and their extended families. Father, Surround them all and just love on them today. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So there you have it. Your 5 minute daily dose of heaven. Thank you so much for tuning in today we pray these devotionals empower you to take on your day.
