Michelle Abraham:

Hello, hello Amplifyou family, Michelle Abraham, your host here and I'm coming to you live today from Dallas. We're at speakers by House live. I've got three incredible speakers with me today. And I want to introduce them to you and hopefully they'll inspire you to start sharing your message to the world in a bigger way. So without further ado, let me introduce you to my guests today. So first up we have Brenda, Brenda, would you like to share your message and say hi, so our audience today?

Malcolm Grissom:

Hello, everybody. My name is Brenda Marie Sheldrake. And my message to you is you're an entrepreneur, if you just started a business if you're just thinking about starting a business, go for it. That's how you make your dreams come true. And if you've already started it, don't quit because I can solve whatever challenge you

Michelle Abraham:

Anyway love. So you're out there solving Westerners challenges helping them get started. That's great inspiration. What made you want to be started on your journey?

Malcolm Grissom:

I got tired of making other people's dreams come true.

Michelle Abraham:

Oh, yeah. That Allah NDG quit corporate shareholder and need to talk to partnership.

Malcolm Grissom:

I was 13 years in a corporate job. I was downsized out. But at 50 I didn't see another path. I actually thought I was done. And then I realized that I had a message.

Michelle Abraham:

So important a new release message, what was your next steps to then sharing it on the stage?

Malcolm Grissom:

Getting involved with groups like speakers play us doing events like PATA Palooza to get you used to that talking about the different aspects of the story? Because it's not just one thing. There's there's so many aspects of the story of the show, doing all of those things. And just clarify, my message has changed. In the last two years, it's changed, like, miles and miles. Yeah.

Michelle Abraham:

But without that action in that color movement. And speaking about it getting that clarity wouldn't have the same clarity is like he didn't get started, right?

Malcolm Grissom:

Absolutely. You can think about it all you want. But thinking doesn't result

Michelle Abraham:

in anything. Exactly. Nicole podcast at involving yo loud. Sometimes Stephanie, she says the more you do it, the more it will evolve, they can get more clear on your message, which is I think the same so Stephen is speaking on stage in the studio.

Malcolm Grissom:

And there's never a right or wrong answer to a podcast that as I've read in so many of them with so many different topics. And there was never a right or wrong answers. So it's nothing to be scared of. You just just go for it. Awesome.

Michelle Abraham:

Thank you. Now I'm gonna workload so I'll learn about you both welcome. Yeah.

Malcolm Grissom:

Thank you, little bit about me. That that works. Well with me, yes. Very, very little bit. Okay. Tell you more. So I am the bully prevention comedian and I am slapping the table because that helps me think and my message is really to tell people what my message is to tell different audiences that they are enough. For instance, I would tell a corporate audience, I talk a lot about workplace bullying and workplace bully prevention and the inner bully I specialize in the inner bully for that audience and for the youth and parents and teachers. So I got those two audiences and I'm hitting the table and I'm sorry, table that

Michelle Abraham:

Is the hall right? That's the table says it's okay. Okay. What made you decide to start speaking on stadiums about bully?

Malcolm Grissom:

I will. Well, much like Brenda here. I had I had the whole corporate career. I retired I worked for the state government for California for 20 years and I was I always had this message that I wanted to share because I overcame bullying well. I overcame exterior bullying and I'm always still dealing with an inner bully because that gives lifetime building, you are always dealing with the inner bully somehow. But I overcame the exterior bullying. So talking about bullying, and people's potential has always been a message of mine. And I've always tried to give out that message in whatever I've done. I just got tired of giving it working for the man and giving that, you know, in the way that I was dictated to give it. I was born in the backseat of a sports car inside of my entire neighborhood. So I was worn on saying she lived there for me, literally. So speaking on stage has always been something that I thought. And so it was a natural progression once I started working for the man to now, okay, I'm gonna work myself, how should I do it? Back?

Michelle Abraham:

Then freedom of being able to do it in your own way and with their own flavor, I'm sure is very inspiring. He says we consider that they used to have your chair, please share with us a little bit about you and what fired you to start speaking.

Consuela Munoz:

Yeah. So I'm Consuela and speaking, speaking was a dream that was so secret. I didn't even tell myself. I sometimes think while I speak. So as I'm speaking, my thoughts come out. I was at like a mastermind group when I was telling a story. And the person next to me is like, Wow, you're really good at that. Have you ever wanted to be a speaker? And I'm like, Yes, I do want to be a speaker. And I was like, is that true? That's true. But I still didn't pursue that right away. Because there must have been a reason why I kept secret. Right? And I, you know, so about a year after that, I'm like, You know what, instead of being a coach that's going to do speaking, I'm going to be a speaker who's going to do coaching, and my husband's like, those are the same. I'm like, No, they're not. And if you're a speaker, you get why they're not

Michelle Abraham:

Looking at a coaching deity, tell us a little bit about your business.

Consuela Munoz:

So I am a Gallup certified strengths coach, and I help entrepreneurs fight those distractions, that squirrel Enos, if you will, and learn to focus, bring their focus into the one thing that they need to do right now. Instead of all the things they think they need to get done, people will show up to me and say, oh, you know, I heard you help with time management, I've got these 20 things I need to get done. Now, I'll be like, let's back up. What do you want to achieve? What are the results that you want, then we form that goal. And from that goal, then we'll decide what actions you actually need to take. Because in our head, all the actions are the same priority level, they're all have to do. But when we start looking at it, like, that's not actually going to help me achieve the goal. So I was talking about melting away palms, which many of us have tried to do at some point in our life, right? So if I'm saying that, and one of my actions is like, I need to turn the TV every time a chicken sandwich comes on the TV. That could be an action I had to take. But if that's the only action I do, is that kind of help me with my goal? Probably not. So is that a priority? It isn't. And so in our head, they're the same. But when we write them down on paper, it's really easy to be like, No, this one works better than this one. This one's more, you know, like the eye doctor BOL, A or B, A or B, which one's better? And sometimes they look almost the same. Like they're both and but you can always just, oh, no, it's a, okay. And that's what you do with that list. And you get down to just the actions you need to take and then figure out how often do you need to take on and bam, magic happens.

Michelle Abraham:

I really think that's a really great process to also if you're feeling that overwhelm of, like, Yes, I'm gonna share this message so badly, but I just don't even know where to get started. So I'm just gonna sit here and do nothing. So I think starting that in that way, it would be really helpful.

Consuela Munoz:

It definitely helps you bring that in and, and the focus in and level out your energy because, you know, on a random morning, as an entrepreneur, you can wake up and be like, oh, oh, my gosh, I need to update my website, the 1000 things, you need to change things and you'll get to that one. But it's not the one that you really should be working on today to make the goal that you need. Maybe it is maybe it isn't, but in your mind, they're all the same. So when to replan. Now, these are the actions I need to take every day that are must do that maybe you do work on your website, but only after you did those ones that you decided are going to get you your results, guys.

Michelle Abraham:

So yeah, that's such a good point and really great way to structure. If you're sitting at home, they're thinking about doing something to actually get up and start doing it. I love it. So if you were someone and if he was speaking to someone who it wants to where you were before he wanted to speak, but you work by reading, you know, what some words of wisdom you would give them?

Consuela Munoz:

Go for it, right? Like, take action is the thing. Also, as my focus person had slips on, it's like, okay, but where are you on? What what do you want to achieve with that? How does that align to what your vision is and what you want to do? And figure out in what way you want us because there's so many ways to be a speaker, what kind of speaker Do you want to be? And let's go after that big way

Michelle Abraham:

Yeah, that's great. Want to suffer? What would you say to someone sitting and flowing? Now it's thinking about being a stature or thinking about sharing a method with the world.

Malcolm Grissom:

You don't even need to know where you want to go. Wait, wait, you're saying was so very important. And yes, you want to know your message. But don't wait for your message. Don't wait for that inspiration, your message. To start, start out on every step is the victory. Whether that step is to decide whether it's to the front forward, whether that's even to the back, maybe it's a step backwards, but every step is a victory, just stopping and thinking about it and think I need to find my inspiration, I need to find my message, I need to decide what kind of Speaker I want to be. Those are great questions. And yes, you will need to answer them on the way. But don't wait for those answers. Before you move. Move. Every step is a victory.

Michelle Abraham:

Whoo and love it. And like celebrate each of those that series. I think we look at it as a big picture and forget that all the little steps along the way are just important to celebrate them the big finale and he's stepping on stage. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's great, where it's awake. Brenda, what's your word of wisdom for our listeners that are maybe thinking about getting started speaking on stage at Ruby sticks to life, I mean, you're starting a business as well.

Michelle Abraham:

Brenda Marie Sheldrake: So the first thing I can think of is, and I was thinking of it, as everybody was talking Done is better than perfect. I said they're waiting for it to be perfect. Waiting to pull the pin for a very long time on things that could have gone out just the way they were. And the funny thing about perfect is nobody knows is perfect, except you where they think that what you put out is perfect. So if you see imperfection in it Done is better than perfect me and

Michelle Abraham:

Remind me of some of the things that we really see stop people from podcasting is that analysis paralysis and constantly like thinking about it, the waiting for that perfect tire that perfectionism. And so I can always teach say that by casting seconds all the male lab because you just get one step number in front of the other, you press record, you get going and every time you press record and get better or better or seven beat that's the same way as anything just getting started is like 90% of the chapters check. You can always get better from there. So bring that I would love to ask you Where can our listeners find out more about working with you more about what you're up to and follow along on your journey.

Michelle Abraham:

Brenda Marie Sheldrake: So the first place to look for me would be on LinkedIn Brenda Marie Sheldrake I am the biz leads expert I have my biz leads expert website as well. Awesome.

Michelle Abraham:

Thank you so much. That said great. And Malcolm papalii Find out more about you and we're who follow you in your smoke signals work. That's no actually underinsured or ad revenue for Right,

Malcolm Grissom:

Right. Exactly. Be up, buddy. Well, theum buddy, not a bully. So now cumbersome.com is the website. Social media is LinkedIn, if Facebook whatever your choice is, it's dot com slash Malcolm Grissom. Malcolm at Malcolm Grissom is my email you see it thing here? I do. But yeah, that's that's how you contact

Michelle Abraham:

And why I was sitting on the pack at the school my kids school they got Buddy then she's finally itself. Well, I really love Buddy benches. Yeah, it's it's such a great way for stopping the villain III, I can still heavily follow you on all on your journey.
