Chuck Anderson,
00:00 - Recording Started
Hello, everybody, and welcome back to the show. This is the Creative
Speaker:collaboration show with Chuck Anderson, and this is the show
Speaker:for Entrepreneurs and business owners who are on a
Speaker:track to, not only develop and grow their
Speaker:business, but, along the way, you have to,
Speaker:develop and grow yourself. And there are times
Speaker:where, in our businesses where we will Sit
Speaker:and spin and and and wonder why things are
Speaker:not happening the way they we want them to happen and why we're
Speaker:not growing The way we want the business to be growing.
Speaker:And, we've said it before, we'll say it again on this Show, the
Speaker:best way To grow your business is to grow yourself.
Speaker:And along that lines, I have an amazing guest
Speaker:here with me today, who is an expert in,
Speaker:not in in helping entrepreneurs with what is up
Speaker:here, in order to grow their businesses, get the results that
Speaker:they want. So, Jerry Teplitz is our guest today. Jerry,
Speaker:welcome to the show. Thank you, Chuck. I'm delighted to be here.
Speaker:And I know we've been looking forward to this for a a couple of months
Speaker:now, and And, the timing is right. This is a this
Speaker:is a a a good time to be here. Well, Jerry, that I I gave
Speaker:a very light introduction, and that gives the Audience, absolutely
Speaker:no idea who you are and your background and
Speaker:and and how it came to be doing this work. So Maybe give the
Speaker:people a a little bit of, an intro into
Speaker:you you and and the work that you do. No. I'm not gonna tell
Speaker:you. There we go. Podcast is over. Thanks for coming,
Speaker:everybody. See you all. No. So,
Speaker:background wise, I grew up in Brooklyn, New York. I went to Hunter
Speaker:College, and then I went to law school at Northwestern in Chicago.
Speaker:I'm a licensed attorney in Illinois, and I practiced for a while for
Speaker:the Environmental Protection Agency. Then
Speaker:I did a total career direction change
Speaker:and wound up, Quitting the law and getting a master's
Speaker:and doctorate in holistic health sciences. I
Speaker:started doing professional speaking In
Speaker:1974, I created a
Speaker:program that I called How to Relax and Enjoy Being a
Speaker:Student and Passing Your Exams and started marketing
Speaker:myself to colleges with and universities around the
Speaker:country. I ended up speaking to over 400 colleges
Speaker:universities with that program. And, I
Speaker:really kind of stepped out in some Specs
Speaker:because I was an unknown when a college campus would book me.
Speaker:And how do you attract an audience? We had PR that
Speaker:would, They'd be able to put up around the campus. This was
Speaker:pre Internet days, of course, so you don't have that kind of promotion. And
Speaker:so we created a relaxation guarantee. If you came to the
Speaker:program and deep didn't leave feeling more relaxed,
Speaker:I would pay you $4 for having come to the program. Even though it
Speaker:was free to the students, I'd pay them $4 for having
Speaker:come. 120,000 people later, only
Speaker:4 people had come up to ask for the money. And so what we
Speaker:had and knew that that this is, an experience I was
Speaker:giving people that really worked. And so I saw that giving
Speaker:an audience experiences can really be extremely
Speaker:powerful. Then I started moving into the
Speaker:business arena with this work and then
Speaker:expanded it out because I ran across something called brain
Speaker:gyms. What brain gyms, Chuck, are very simple
Speaker:body movements originally developed for children and adults
Speaker:with learning disabilities. We can take d and f graded
Speaker:students and give them the capability becoming a level students in a
Speaker:semester just by using movement.
Speaker:And I got certified very quickly in this work, and
Speaker:what I saw is people were using it in the education
Speaker:arena. The guy who developed it, doctor Paul Dennison, he had
Speaker:a PhD in education. And so teachers were using
Speaker:it, counselors, Administrators,
Speaker:parents, but nobody was doing anything in the business arena. So I
Speaker:went to, doctor Dennis and his wife, Gail and I said, can I create a
Speaker:course for salespeople? And they said sure. So I created a
Speaker:one day seminar called switched on selling that did not teach a
Speaker:single of selling the entire day. It's just a brain
Speaker:reeducation program, and that's where you're talking
Speaker:about the up here. That's where it went, but
Speaker:it got there through the use of movement
Speaker:Mhmm. To create brain Function changes
Speaker:very, very quickly. And, we actually did a study.
Speaker:If you want, I can talk about it, validating
Speaker:this work if if, you'd like me to move into that aspect.
Speaker:Yeah. That sounds great. Let's let's hear it. I'm all for data and,
Speaker:studies that prove a certain thing is Creative, and I'm
Speaker:very evidence based with my work. So I would love to hear more about that.
Speaker:Well, I and I realized very, quickly that if I
Speaker:went into a VP of sales and I said to them,
Speaker:hi. I'd like to come in and do this Seminar. It's
Speaker:called Switched on Selling, and we're not gonna teach a
Speaker:single technique of selling the entire day. It is a brain
Speaker:Reeducation program using very simple body movement exercises
Speaker:called brain gyms. After he threw me
Speaker:out the door or she throw would throw me out the door, I
Speaker:realized I needed to get proof that this
Speaker:worked. And so what I did is a research
Speaker:study with 695 salespeople.
Speaker:We gave them a pre seminar questionnaire when they walked in first in the morning.
Speaker:End of the day, we gave it to them again, but then I collected
Speaker:the forms back from them. I got them back to them a month later because
Speaker:I wanted to get over seminar a placebo effect because you're
Speaker:not here to go to a seminar, you get really excited,
Speaker:and 3 days later, you're back doing what you did before, Show it didn't
Speaker:stick. So I wanted to see if this really worked because I was
Speaker:not gonna continue doing it if it was just kind of
Speaker:a placebo effect Alright, folks. I wanted something that we're gonna
Speaker:be changing then. So, with this
Speaker:study, let me give you an example of one of the statements we asked,
Speaker:when they walked in first thing in the morning filling out the form, I am
Speaker:comfortable asking for the order and closing the sale.
Speaker:Pretty important part of the process, Chuck. Agreed? Very
Speaker:important. You have to ask. So how many people would you
Speaker:say responded negatively to that.
Speaker:Well, I'll just base it on the work that I've done. Most people are
Speaker:very uncomfortable. The they might force themselves to do it,
Speaker:but but Most people are uncomfortable asking for the order.
Speaker:52% responded negatively
Speaker:to that statement. Well, over half. End of
Speaker:the seminar day again. Remember, we're not teaching techniques of
Speaker:selling. It's just brain reeducation using movement.
Speaker:Only 8% were still negative.
Speaker:Now you would normally expect The
Speaker:numbers to start going up again
Speaker:instead at the month later, and we didn't get all the forms back.
Speaker:Compare the ones we got back with the ones that we didn't, and they were
Speaker:comparable. So it wasn't that we had this unique group of folks who
Speaker:responded versus those who did not. And
Speaker:this is the interesting part. Only
Speaker:6% were still on the negative side.
Speaker:From 52 down to 51 down to
Speaker:6%. Now what's even more dramatic is
Speaker:what happened with Strongly agree, which is one of the choices
Speaker:that they can make. I strongly agree. Beginning of the day,
Speaker:16% said, selected that, and those would
Speaker:be your kind of top top salespeople probably saying, man.
Speaker:End of the seminar day, it moved up to 35%,
Speaker:saying strongly agree. A month later, it
Speaker:moved up to 50% With the other
Speaker:43% in agree, we now had
Speaker:93% on the positive side, And we
Speaker:didn't teach a single technique of selling
Speaker:the entire day. And I have now done
Speaker:50 studies with Clients on this, and all the graphs
Speaker:look the same. As a matter of fact, there was a,
Speaker:pest control company in Virginia Beach, Virginia called Aactive Termite and
Speaker:pest control. President's name is Kevin Kordick.
Speaker:He heard me do my regular seminar on increasing
Speaker:your brain's performance for greater leadership success
Speaker:while managing the stress of change. For a group he belonged to called
Speaker:Entrepreneur's Organization, He decides to put half his
Speaker:Salesforce through the class. Now this is during the great
Speaker:recession. And so, Pest
Speaker:control companies were and most everybody was having lots of
Speaker:difficulty going out of business barely holding early.
Speaker:So he's very heavily tracking statistics, and so he
Speaker:puts half his Salesforce in the class. And I told him, put
Speaker:you mediocre level folks in the class, not
Speaker:your top people. And so he
Speaker:did, and He's heavily into tracking statistics, and one of the
Speaker:things he observed was 6 of the 8 people immediately jumped
Speaker:above his top tier people. Actually created a newer and
Speaker:higher top tier. I was doing the class again in October
Speaker:that year, and he puts everybody else through it. And a year
Speaker:later, I asked him, Kevin, what happened over the course of the year? This is
Speaker:when we started to move into the slow recovery, and what he
Speaker:says is he doubled his profits.
Speaker:On tube's high end product lines, he became the number
Speaker:1 distributor in the country, and this was a small
Speaker:operation compared to, You know, what's out there?
Speaker:And he said 1 of his guys jumped up
Speaker:over 300%. Now
Speaker:2 of the 6 that jumped above his top tier thought this
Speaker:seminar was actually that Chuck. They used other words.
Speaker:I'm sure. But Kevin brings them into his
Speaker:office 4 months after the seminar, and he says, okay. Here's your stats before the
Speaker:one day. Here's your stats. After you took the one day seminar and where they've
Speaker:been ever since, what changed to create that? And even these
Speaker:2 skeptics said it was the one day seminar. It's
Speaker:not a belief program. We
Speaker:actually just by having people go through the experience,
Speaker:it creates That level of change. There was
Speaker:a bank in, Nebraska.
Speaker:They brought me in, and they, put they had 2 kinds
Speaker:of salespeople. They had salespeople who had been through lots of training
Speaker:And salespeople who were pretty new and hadn't been through the treatment. I
Speaker:looked at the questionnaires at the end of the
Speaker:seminar, And the people were off in different places
Speaker:because ones who had training had other some issues, ones who didn't
Speaker:had other issues. And end of the seminar day, they're all
Speaker:on. A month later, it looks the same. They're all on.
Speaker:That bank in their association they belong to became bank
Speaker:of the year, that year. And the president actually shot a video where he
Speaker:said we made bank of the year because of this one day seminar.
Speaker:Wow. Amazing. And, you know, one of
Speaker:the things that, I heard you
Speaker:say is that it's, you know, it's it's it's
Speaker:not about beliefs. It's it's about the
Speaker:experience. And I just know in so much of the work that we've done
Speaker:with others that, you know, people are talking about limiting beliefs
Speaker:and their and and what you believe about a certain thing that you're
Speaker:doing and a and a certain result that you want to achieve and picturing
Speaker:the end result and all of that. And what I hear you say is that
Speaker:in your work, it's not really as much about the belief, but it's about
Speaker:the, you know, the the experiences that they are
Speaker:experiencing in the in the workshop. So I I just wanted to come back to
Speaker:that a little bit because, you hear it so much.
Speaker:It's a message that we hear so often, to
Speaker:challenge your beliefs and to change your beliefs and to and and a
Speaker:new result will appear. What what what would you add to that?
Speaker:So there was a study that was published about
Speaker:positive affirmations. You Show, you say this positive statement over and over
Speaker:again, and it'll change your, Attitude,
Speaker:about that belief. And they found, congratulations.
Speaker:It does work if you believe it. If you
Speaker:don't, it actually made the people who do positive
Speaker:affirmations feel worse.
Speaker:Anderson somebody who's struggling in by the way, we have
Speaker:other courses on switch. Management for managers. They get stuck
Speaker:on different places. We have one for start up entrepreneurs,
Speaker:it's an online course, and we have one for Internet marketers,
Speaker:it's also an online course. And so what happens
Speaker:is those places you get stuck in, if
Speaker:you try to batter Ram through it. Like, you're gonna
Speaker:do positive affirmations about, you know,
Speaker:I can I can ask for the order and close the sale? I can ask
Speaker:for the order and Close the sale. And if you don't have that belief system
Speaker:in there, you feel worse and worse, and guess what you do?
Speaker:You don't ask for the order and close the sale. So we're coming at it
Speaker:from a totally different direction of using these
Speaker:movement exercises to create these new neuron nets
Speaker:in the brain In minutes.
Speaker:That that's amazing to me because, well,
Speaker:You know, we talk to people all the time who,
Speaker:if they are struggling with sales,
Speaker:They the very first thing they would look at is,
Speaker:oh, maybe I need to create a new offer or Or this
Speaker:program doesn't sell well. This this this
Speaker:niche market, isn't, isn't a good one, and
Speaker:and there's always This pattern in the cycle
Speaker:of creating new programs and adjusting what we're
Speaker:doing and coming up with a new funnel or a new System
Speaker:of some sort, and it's all this stuff out here.
Speaker:And, I mean, what would you say to someone who's experienced because we have a
Speaker:lot of entrepreneurs, Internet entrepreneur, Internet marketers,
Speaker:salespeople who who are in our network, what would you
Speaker:say to them, who are maybe in that pattern? Or maybe they're
Speaker:Reassessing a program that they are they have created
Speaker:or a program that they are selling, and they're looking at their lack of sales
Speaker:going, You know what? I got I gotta switch. I gotta do something else. Because
Speaker:what I'm hearing you saying is it might not be the program.
Speaker:It might be something else that is
Speaker:preventing them to either ask for the order or be, you know, you
Speaker:know, be clear enough or bold enough With their ask
Speaker:Let me give you an example from the Switched on Internet marketing,
Speaker:online course. I had a woman who,
Speaker:had done a ton of Internet marketing training, spent
Speaker:1,000 of dollars, And she was basically
Speaker:ready to quit Internet marketing. And,
Speaker:so she went through the course As kind of this is the
Speaker:last ditch effort,
Speaker:she did a testimonial for me on it, and she
Speaker:said, Halfway through the class, all of a sudden,
Speaker:I realized I'm getting all these ideas I never had and
Speaker:things I need to do in ways I had never thought of doing it,
Speaker:and she wasn't even done with the class. And in
Speaker:effect, Show created a different way
Speaker:up here that then manifested
Speaker:out there in her being able to do things,
Speaker:differently. As a matter of fact, I don't know if
Speaker:if you want to do this, but I can actually take
Speaker:you and your viewers
Speaker:through A process that's
Speaker:part of the class that shows you how when you have an you know when
Speaker:you have a negative, stressful situation happen, Hal, it
Speaker:can ruin your day and make it difficult to,
Speaker:to refocus. You've had that. Right?
Speaker:Oh, absolutely. More than once. More than once. Yeah. Well,
Speaker:this is a 2 minute exercise using these brain gyms that will get
Speaker:rid of the charge Attached to that thought.
Speaker:So if you want, if you think it's appropriate, I can
Speaker:run you and The viewers through this right
Speaker:now. Let's try it. Okay. Let's try it.
Speaker:So, the first thing we have to do
Speaker:is have you actually experienced what happens in the
Speaker:physiology of your body when you think of a negative or a
Speaker:positive, thought? So,
Speaker:would you be able to stand up? And if you wanna adjust your camera a
Speaker:little bit, would that work for you? Might have to might have to adjust the
Speaker:camera here a little bit. Okay. Oh, that's
Speaker:gonna put me way, way, way out of the wall. Well, yeah, that's
Speaker:as high as it's gonna go. Okay. Yep. Okay. So
Speaker:for for the, viewers, you want to stand up if you can or
Speaker:sit to the front of your chair Show that your back is is not
Speaker:supported. And so in a moment, what you're gonna do, Chuck, is you'll close
Speaker:your eyes, and I want you to think of a really
Speaker:negative, Stressful business thought that you've
Speaker:had. You can do that. Correct? Yes. I can definitely
Speaker:do You can definitely do that. Great. And then I'm gonna ask
Speaker:you to observe with your you'll have your eyes closed to observe your physical
Speaker:posture. Show you're not opening your eyes and looking down. You're noticing
Speaker:internally, am I upright, am I slumped, am I going side to side? Whatever
Speaker:you observe is fine, including nothing. Then I'll ask
Speaker:you to observe your breathing. Is it shallow? Is it deep? Is it erratic?
Speaker:And whatever you observe is fine, including nothing. I'll ask you
Speaker:to observe if you have pain in your body and where it is, and some
Speaker:people do and some people don't on this. And then I'll ask you to observe
Speaker:what's going on in your mind. Is it calm? Is Churning is zipping all over
Speaker:the place. And, again, whatever you observe is fine. So we'll go
Speaker:through the whole process first, And then I'll ask you what you're,
Speaker:you are observing, and you're, in effect, standing in for
Speaker:all of your, your viewers In terms of,
Speaker:what you experienced, because they'll have they if they're
Speaker:participating now with us, they'll have Well, we hope that they are.
Speaker:So please stand up And participate along with us. Yeah. Or sit to
Speaker:the front of your chair if you're in a situation where you stand up. Okay.
Speaker:So now close your eyes, hands inside of the body, and now
Speaker:think of that negative stressful
Speaker:thought
Speaker:And really intensify that
Speaker:thought.
Speaker:And now without adjusting your body, just
Speaker:observe your physical posture.
Speaker:Observe your breathing.
Speaker:Observe any pain you feel in your body and where it is,
Speaker:and observe what's going on in your mind.
Speaker:Okay, Chuck. Open your eyes. Be seated for a moment, and we're
Speaker:gonna see what your responses were. Okay? So,
Speaker:Chuck, what did you notice Physical posture wise,
Speaker:if anything. Mhmm. I
Speaker:think the first thing I would notice was that my shoulders
Speaker:were kind of Curling forward and,
Speaker:and and maybe even slumped over a little bit. By the way, when I do
Speaker:a live program and I ask the audience this, The word that comes
Speaker:out the most is slumped. So it's exactly
Speaker:Oh, okay. What'd you notice about breathing It was
Speaker:very shallow and quick, very shallow quick breaths.
Speaker:Well, guess what? When I ask the live program, people say
Speaker:shallow. Now did you have pain anywhere? Some people do. Some
Speaker:people don't.
Speaker:Yeah. I don't recall. Nothing that
Speaker:nothing that stood out. Stood out. That's fine. Yeah. Yeah. Some people do. Some people
Speaker:don't. Yeah. And what about your mind? What was that doing?
Speaker:Yeah. It was, it just felt like someone was
Speaker:Squeezing my head. It was like there were and the thoughts were just
Speaker:so, quick, and, there was so many of
Speaker:them that it was overwhelming. And people will send 10 at
Speaker:1 all live program would tend to say churning. So Oh,
Speaker:yeah. Okay. Yeah. Churning's a good word. Okay.
Speaker:So that's a real response you
Speaker:physically had to a negative thought.
Speaker:Let's now go to have you think a very positive
Speaker:work situation that you've had. Okay? Show you're gonna stand up again
Speaker:and Okay. Viewers, if they'll join us and stand up,
Speaker:or, again, you can sit to the front of your chairs. So hands at the
Speaker:side of your body, and you've got your thought, Chuck, so close your
Speaker:eyes. And now think of the very positive
Speaker:situation.
Speaker:And without adjusting your body,
Speaker:observe your physical posture,
Speaker:Your breathing,
Speaker:Any pain you feel in your body and where it is,
Speaker:and what's going on in your mind?
Speaker:Okay. Open your eyes. Be seated, Chuck. Okay. Yours,
Speaker:you can all be seated. Okay, Chuck.
Speaker:So what did you observe physical posture?
Speaker:Yeah. Well so my shoulders were much fur farther back, And
Speaker:I felt like I was standing much more upright. And when I
Speaker:do a live program, people will say upright. What do
Speaker:you observe in terms terms of breathing?
Speaker:It was, it was slower breathing and much more relaxed.
Speaker:Okay. People will tend to sink deeper. Would that fall into
Speaker:the world? Yeah. That it was definitely deeper than the previous.
Speaker:Great. Now you didn't have any pain on the first one. Did you have
Speaker:any pain on this one? I did not. And I wouldn't expect that.
Speaker:Yes. Happiness is painful. Yes. Scott, you heard it here
Speaker:first, folks. And what about your mind?
Speaker:My mind, you know, it was well, first of all, relaxed
Speaker:and calm, and, I just felt I just felt happy. It
Speaker:was it there was like a like a feeling of happiness or
Speaker:joy. Right? And people will tend to say,
Speaker:calm I do when I do a program. So Yeah. You,
Speaker:in effect, have are 3 for 3, on both
Speaker:sides. There we go. Wow. Show viewers, even if you only had 1 or
Speaker:2, that's and you see a difference
Speaker:between those, You see how your thoughts have an
Speaker:immediate impact on you. So if you're at work and a disaster
Speaker:happened kinds of things, It's affecting you not
Speaker:only up here, but your whole body,
Speaker:and it affects your whole performance. Because how would you like to
Speaker:just Think about Chuck being in this position on that
Speaker:negative one all day long.
Speaker:That would be very draining. Yes. It would be difficult to do for more than
Speaker:a few hours, really. Yeah. And, look at how much you would not
Speaker:accomplish. Yeah. Exactly. I'd probably tune out by
Speaker:watching YouTube shorts or or Netflix.
Speaker:So now let's get rid of the charge using the brain
Speaker:chips. Okay? You ready for that? Sure. Oh, I see
Speaker:we're out of time. Oh, well, Next, I stay tuned
Speaker:for episode 2 of this, folks. Okay.
Speaker:So this first one is called Hookups, it doesn't relate
Speaker:to how the term is used now. It was, named many
Speaker:years ago, because you're hooking up both sides of the
Speaker:brain. So there's a part 1 and part 2. So
Speaker:you're gonna stay seated, but you wanna move a little bit away from your
Speaker:chair, and for the viewers, you join us This as well. So
Speaker:what I want you to do is you're gonna clasp your hands together,
Speaker:and you all would have 1 thumb on top.
Speaker:That whole side of your body, we're gonna call it the primary
Speaker:side of your body. So you're releasing your hands, Putting your
Speaker:hands straight out in front of you now. Turn the backs.
Speaker:You want might wanna push away from the, the chair a little bit if you
Speaker:have to. Okay. So you turn the backs of the
Speaker:hands towards each other. Take your
Speaker:primary side hand, whichever it is, Over the
Speaker:top of the other, you're gonna intertwine
Speaker:your fingers. If you're comfortable, take your
Speaker:hands Anderson into your chest. So under
Speaker:and into your chest. If you're not comfortable, just leave them,
Speaker:out. You're gonna take your primary side ankle
Speaker:and cross it in front of the other ankle. You're gonna put
Speaker:your tongue to the roof of your mouth, a quarter of an inch
Speaker:behind your front teeth just making contact. In
Speaker:a moment, you need to close your eyes. And what I want you to be
Speaker:doing is thinking of that negative stressful thought
Speaker:negatively, as much clarity as you can, intensity as
Speaker:you can negatively. Somewhere in holding this
Speaker:position, part 1, part 2, or what's called the positive points we'll do,
Speaker:after these, is the negative will fade away. Other thoughts will
Speaker:pop in. Your mind will wander off. It becomes hard to focus on the negative.
Speaker:When that happens, switch and view it positively and stay
Speaker:positive the rest of the process. So close your eyes. Tongue
Speaker:is up. We're gonna hold this for 30 seconds now, and
Speaker:keep breathing.
Speaker:K. Open your eyes. Release your hands, Chuck. Uncross your
Speaker:feet. Part 2 of hookups, Just
Speaker:take your fingertips and just put your fingertips
Speaker:together. You're gonna put your tongue to the roof of the mouth, quarter of an
Speaker:inch behind your front teeth. You're gonna keep breathing. We're gonna hold
Speaker:this for 30 seconds. If the negative's still there, continue to view it
Speaker:negatively. Mind wanders off. Other thoughts pop in. Hard view the
Speaker:negative switch and go positive and stay positive the rest of the process, we'll
Speaker:just hold this for 30 seconds also.
Speaker:Hey. Relax your hands. Open your eyes. And so the last piece we're
Speaker:gonna do is called positive points. To do positive points,
Speaker:Chuck, Take 3 fingers from each hand. Find the middle of your
Speaker:eyebrow. Go halfway up to the hairline
Speaker:Or depending on where it is, in some cases, wherever it used to be.
Speaker:And you have the curved part of it, notice my fingers are about
Speaker:an inch and a half or so apart. And you're in the right place, Chuck.
Speaker:So you're touching. It's not a pressure. It's
Speaker:just A light touch. And we're gonna hold the
Speaker:and just keep breathing. We're gonna hold this for 30 seconds. Again,
Speaker:negative's still there. Continue to be negatively. Mind wanders off. Thoughts
Speaker:pop in. Chuck and stay positive to the rest. Close your eyes. We'll
Speaker:hold this for 30 seconds.
Speaker:Okay. And you reach your hands and open your eyes.
Speaker:So now we're gonna do the ultimate test. You're gonna stand again, and
Speaker:for viewers to join us, either Stand in front of the chairs, and you're
Speaker:gonna think of that negative thought again. And we'll go through all 4
Speaker:areas again as and we'll see what's changed for you, if anything.
Speaker:Okay? So stand up, sir.
Speaker:K. K.
Speaker:And close your eyes And think of that same,
Speaker:negative thought that you started with,
Speaker:And observe your physical posture.
Speaker:Observe your breathing.
Speaker:Observe any pain you feel in your body and where it is,
Speaker:And observe what's going on in the mind.
Speaker:Hey. Open your eyes. Be seated, Chuck.
Speaker:Alright. Gotcha. What did you observe
Speaker:physical posture? I
Speaker:was still upright this time, and and so I I didn't
Speaker:like, the the first time I did it, I felt like it was kind of
Speaker:Slumping over and kinda my shoulders were cooling forward.
Speaker:Yeah. This time, they did not do that. They
Speaker:Yeah. When I was doing the positive thought, they were more backwards. This one
Speaker:wasn't quite the same, but it was not slumping forward the
Speaker:way it was the first time. How about your breathing?
Speaker:It was much more, relaxed and deeper than
Speaker:than the first time. Great. And you didn't have pain the other 2 times? I
Speaker:assume you didn't have pain now. Yeah. Very fortunately.
Speaker:I usually do have Back pain, but not today.
Speaker:Alright. Well, actually, people who have pain
Speaker:on the negative, It tends to be gone on the positive, and after we
Speaker:finish this, it tends to stay gone. So the question
Speaker:becomes, is pain in the mind or is pain in the body? Right. Actually,
Speaker:both places. And what did you observe about your
Speaker:mind? It was, It it
Speaker:was it was calmer. And so the 1st time
Speaker:I felt like it was just it was racing. It was,
Speaker:and just very overwhelmed, and this time, it just felt calmer.
Speaker:Yeah. So notice your answers.
Speaker:They're way closer to when you have the positive
Speaker:thought Mhmm. Than the negative. Would you agree?
Speaker:Absolutely. Because guess what we've done? We've taken the
Speaker:charge off of that thought. So it means
Speaker:you can now think about the situation, But it's not gonna have
Speaker:a negative impact on you. So like on the
Speaker:switched on internet marketing or switched on start up entrepreneur programs,
Speaker:We actually take people through every part of being an
Speaker:entrepreneur, being a, Internet marketer,
Speaker:and we find the places that they don't that
Speaker:they're off on, in effect. Like, they view as as negative.
Speaker:And then we have 18 brain gyms that we use. So these
Speaker:2 don't just get rid of everything. We have 18 brain gyms that we
Speaker:use depending on, which part of the process we're going
Speaker:through, And we're switching them on for every
Speaker:piece of the process. One of the
Speaker:books I did in this area was called Switched on
Speaker:and, balance your brain for Chuck success. And I
Speaker:had originally had, A gentleman
Speaker:who is an expert in sales, his name is,
Speaker:Bill Brooks, and he owned a multimillion dollar
Speaker:sales training And I talked to him about collaboration,
Speaker:and he agreed, that he would do the technique part,
Speaker:I would do the brain reeducation part, but he wanted to actually
Speaker:experience it and see if this was real. So he brought me down to do
Speaker:his, him and his company, And he then
Speaker:waited it's a one day seminar. He waited 4 months to write
Speaker:me a letter on this, and he said, I deliberately waited 4 months because I
Speaker:want to see what happened. And so he said, first thing I noticed, my
Speaker:selling abilities improved. Now this is a guy
Speaker:who is A sales guru is how everybody looks at
Speaker:him, and he said his abilities improve. He said one of his
Speaker:people, Within the month after the class, it
Speaker:sold 4 months of a year. It's quarter after at the end of 4 months,
Speaker:she had actually sold her full year's quarter. And with most sales
Speaker:training, you have to do repetition, he said. There's no repetition
Speaker:needed with this work. I disagreed with him just
Speaker:Slightly because I get to look at all the pre and post 1 month later
Speaker:forms, and I see, occasionally, you'll have somebody who slips out
Speaker:on 1 little thing there, 1 little thing there, And I instruct them
Speaker:how they would put themselves back in as well. So Bill was
Speaker:gonna do the book with me, but he passed away unexpectedly.
Speaker:Anderson doctor Tony Alessandra, who's also a
Speaker:sales guru, stepped in, and he did the
Speaker:Collaboration of it, the tech the technique of I
Speaker:still do the brain reeducation, and that book went to
Speaker:bestseller on Amazon. Show
Speaker:what's the name of that book? So just we'll put it into the,
Speaker:description below the video and in the podcast. So it's called switched
Speaker:on selling, balance your brain for Sales success. There's also a
Speaker:version switched on networking. Balance your brain for
Speaker:networking success. Fantastic. Well,
Speaker:we're gonna make sure that the links, to those are,
Speaker:right beneath this video. And if you're listening to this podcast, I do
Speaker:recommend that you go and watch the video of
Speaker:this because, you know, it's very experiential, what
Speaker:we what we've done here today. And, the links to
Speaker:those books are right beneath this video. So
Speaker:so, Jerry, this has been amazing,
Speaker:And so and and we could probably do this all day,
Speaker:and and so we wanna make sure that this I dig with a seminar format.
Speaker:You do. You you do. Absolutely, you do. So people can now or
Speaker:people can now go online to either switched on Internet
Speaker:marketing or switched on startup entrepreneur. And the links, by the way, for that
Speaker:are switched on startupentrepreneur.comorswitchedoninternetmarketing.com
Speaker:Show they can actually take the entire course for themselves in
Speaker:either area. Fantastic. Well, all we're gonna make sure
Speaker:all those links are there, and, go check it out. If
Speaker:you like what You experienced here today,
Speaker:then go check that out and, connect with with
Speaker:Gerry outside of this episode. So So thank you so much. This
Speaker:has been, fun, and, I would say,
Speaker:very eye opening in terms of Some of the things that we hear
Speaker:all the time when I I I coach Internet marketers
Speaker:every single day, and, and so So
Speaker:often when something isn't selling, when something isn't working,
Speaker:we look at the program. We look at the audience. We look at the marketing.
Speaker:We look at the copy, But we bring so much of ourselves
Speaker:to that. And, you know, what is
Speaker:what the feelings are And what the thoughts are are it's gonna get
Speaker:in there no matter what you
Speaker:think, is happening and how How skilled you are
Speaker:at it can't help but to happen. And so
Speaker:by learning how to, you know,
Speaker:Exercise your brain in a new way,
Speaker:and get yourself into those good feelings before you sit
Speaker:down to write copy, Before you start to do those sales calls, before
Speaker:you start to do anything that is revenue generating,
Speaker:in your business, makes, great sense
Speaker:To even just do what we did here today, on the podcast
Speaker:before before you, before you do any of those things. So,
Speaker:Jerry, any final words before we, before we close our
Speaker:this episode off? Yeah. Just a thought for you, because you're
Speaker:coaching people who are Internet marketers, if
Speaker:they went through the class first, it makes
Speaker:your job easier Because
Speaker:they'll hear hear it. They'll not have the blocks, and they'll be
Speaker:able to do what you're saying just like that.
Speaker:Amazing. Jerry, thank you so much for for being,
Speaker:my guest here today and for walking us through this exercise,
Speaker:very generous. And to our audience, I want you to,
Speaker:again, I don't want this episode to be for nothing. Please
Speaker:think about Something you experienced or learned here today
Speaker:and take that action. Maybe it is to go check out, the
Speaker:books and and also Jerry's programs, or maybe
Speaker:it's something else that came up for you during this episode.
Speaker:Take that action step today. Never ever give
Speaker:up on your your dream and your vision for your business, and
Speaker:keep moving forward. Until next time. This has
Speaker:been the collaboration Creative collaboration show with Chuck Anderson. My
Speaker:guest has been Jerry Teplitz. Thank you, and have a
Speaker:wonderful day,
