He is currently a periodontist at significant central specialists in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated from new Penn dental medicine school. We are so grateful to have you here. Dr. Huang. How are you feeling today?

Dr. Allen Huang:

I'm feeling great to be on your podcast today. I'm ready to kind of educate everybody, especially young adolescents.

Angelina Huang:

Thank you so much Dr. Hog. We're so grateful that you're happy. So I guess for the first question, what is a periodontist?

Dr. Allen Huang:

A Peridot is basically is a dentist that specializes in treating gum diseases, treating missing teeth, and then treating gum recessions when you're when you're missing tissues.

Cameron Huang:

So why do people need a periodontist?

Dr. Allen Huang:

People need piranhas for several reasons. But I think the main reason is to treat your gum disease where you have excessive amount of bacteria in your mouth. People also meet parents when you have missing teeth where they can come in for to get a teeth replacement with dental implants. So those are the two main reasons why people see piranhas.

Angelina Huang:

Thank you so much for your input. So I guess to prevent these things, why do you think it's important to have good oral health?

Dr. Allen Huang:

It's important to have good oral health for several reasons. But I think the main reasons is ability to keep your teeth for the rest of your life. Just imagine if you started having gum disease if you start to start to lose your bone. And when you start to get gum disease, which would lead to bad breath, bone loss and loosening of your teeth. So I think that's the main reason why it's important to see a periodontist.

Cameron Huang:

So is it possible for kids or teenagers to have gum disease?

Dr. Allen Huang:

Of course. But in general, the start of the periodontist start with what we call inflammation of the gum, that's a term what we call gingivitis. So when you guys hear gingivitis, that's typically when kids have bad oral health in terms of not brushing correctly, which leads to inflammation or redness of the gum and bleeding with a gun.

Angelina Huang:

Oh no, that's horrible. Do you hear that kids? So for the future generation, what are the signs that you have gum disease?

Dr. Allen Huang:

What are the signs is that to creating in terms of the feet trying to get boyfriend girlfriends? Typically, signs are going to be bad breath. second sign is gonna be bleeding gums. Third time you're gonna start to see is that you're gonna get crooked in a way that nobody's gonna be around you.

Cameron Huang:

Do you want to have a good first kiss? Make sure to have good oral health. So what should we do if we do have gum disease?

Dr. Allen Huang:

Well, I think the first sign that if you do think you have gum disease, you need a start to seek professional care in terms of professional cleanings, back home a few things you can consider. One would be start to kind of brush correctly or to brush a little bit more. I think one of the sign that one of the techniques that I can kind of help you improve is to pick up that electric toothbrush where once you hit the start button, it will force you to brush two minutes per run. I think the second thing is that to start to have good habits of flossing, flossing your teeth. I think that's that's the main key in terms of keeping a proper health care.

Angelina Huang:

Yes, brush and floss. So If I have gum disease can I transmit it to another person?

Dr. Allen Huang:

Of course when you do have gum disease gum disease stems from accumulation of bacteria in your mouth. So, of course bacteria is transmissible through different vehicles can be transmissible through straw, through sharing food, sharing utensils, or simply sharing your glass bottle. But last but not the least, you can get it through a simple kiss on the cheek.

Cameron Huang:

That is not yummy. So, what are your tips for keeping your gums clean and healthy? So like

Dr. Allen Huang:

I said, a proper tip for keeping your gums clean and healthy would be first to have a routine checkup with your dentists or Peter Darren's case demonstrate to have cleaning every six months and at home to develop a good habits of brushing your teeth, flossing your teeth and to drink enough water.

Angelina Huang:

Thank you so much Dr. Huang for our your input. You hear that kids do not want to end up with ugly bleeding gums that no boyfriend. Follow all the advice from Dr. Huang right here. He is the best and I will tell you personally, every single patient he has a phenomenon.

Dr. Allen Huang:

So kids around please keep your teeth clean. And please do have a habits of come and see your regular dentist for routine cleanings. And I hope that you never had to visit periodontist in your life.

Cameron Huang:

Thank you. Bye bye. Bye bye.
