Welcome back to another episode of health hacks as I continue talking to you about key nutrients that your body needs in order to thrive. And today I want to talk to you about zinc and copper is they to go hand in hand, just like magnesium and calcium that I talked to talked about in episode 430, and sodium and potassium that I talked about in episode 431. So if you take too much zinc that will push your copper levels down. If your copper levels get too high, that will push your zinc levels down and we need them to be in balance. So with high copper that's pushing zinc levels down that can result in you feeling have having feelings of fear, anxiety, symptoms of a DD or ADHD or other learning disabilities, it can lead to cholesterol imbalances, mood disorders, allergies, and asthma. Whereas low copper can result in graying hair prematurely, hair loss, anemia, fatigue, low hormones, and it can impact your thyroid when it comes to zinc, which is very good for the immune system. And a lot of people know that and so they take straight zinc, you might want to consider taking a balanced zinc, which has copper and zinc in it so that the two can stay in ratio to one another. Now with high zinc, that can be caused by Head and Shoulder shampoo, by the way, and it can also be caused by cadmium toxicity, as well as high zinc or zinc is very good for testosterone and progesterone for your hormones. You don't want it to be high, you want it to be imbalanced and have enough in order to support your hormone levels. Now with low zinc that obviously then relates to having low testosterone, lower drive, lower ambition, lower courage, lower strength, all of those things that go with, you know, having low testosterone, low zinc can have very similar symptoms as well as poor skin, acne rashes, weak name, weak hair, white spots on your fingernails, poor muscle growth, poor tissue repair, and a weakened gut lining. And then because we're talking hormones here, with zinc being good for testosterone and progesterone, copper is very good for estrogen. And as I always say, the body just wants to be in balance. So if you're listening to this and going I don't know what my zinc levels are, I don't know what my copper levels are. It's really easy to test them through a hair tissue mineral analysis. The lab test is mailed to your home and we can figure out what your levels are for zinc and comer copper and also all of your nutrient minerals, as well as see some toxic metal profile in that one lab tests so it gives you lots of information and if you'd like to know more about that, simply email me at Melissa at your guided health journey.com
