Kelly Sinclair:

You don't want to be that girl I heard about one time at that thing. Be the person that your audience is so grateful to have been introduced to you, because you provide so much value and now they're your biggest fans.

Kelly Sinclair:

This is the Entrepreneur School Podcast where we believe you can run a thriving business and still make your family a priority. This show is all about supporting you the emerging or early stage Entrepreneur on your journey from solopreneur to CEO while wearing all of the other hats in your life. My name is Kelly Sinclair and I'm a brand and marketing strategist who started a business with two kids under 3am, a corporate PR girl turned entrepreneur after I learned the hard way that life is too short to waste doing things that burn you out. On this show, you'll hear inspiring stories from other business owners on their journey, and learn strategies to help you grow a profitable business, while making it all fit into the life that you want. Welcome to Entrepreneur School.

Kelly Sinclair:

All right, let's call it like it is the summer season can feel like a light at the end of the tunnel. And you just want to relax, take it easy focus on fun, I get it, your whole schedule changes with the kids out of school, maybe they have some camps. Or maybe they'll be interrupting you 10 times an hour, asking for snacks or to go play with their friends. Either way, the way you spend your time this summer matters. And I wanted to dedicate this episode to talking about how you can have both a fun and relaxing summer doing more of the things you love. And continue building momentum for your business. So that when September rolls around, and it'll be here in the blink of an eye, you have set yourself up for success. So imagine a summer where you take afternoons off to play with your kids. And you still book podcast interviews, you hang out in the sun, and you see a consistent stream of audience growth, you sleep in and you rock that slow summer schedule, while securing collaborations that are going to keep your name in front of your ideal clients. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Kelly Sinclair:

In fact, I actually created my visibility tour method last summer because I had this exact desire. I wanted to stay visible and top of mind continuing to grow my audience. But also be available to take the day off to go paddleboarding, or drive to the Rec Center literally three times in the same day for hockey camp, gymnastics camp, drop in swimming, whatever. And also sleeping whenever I want it because your girl is not a morning person. I can't wait for that to come back. And I want to share that it is possible. And I want to walk you through how in this episode, plus, I have an exciting opportunity for you that I'm going to share at the end, where I will actually help you stay visible in the most efficient and effective way this summer. So if you haven't heard it yet, September is the new January. It's a time when people are eager to get back into routine. And they're very motivated to finish off their year hitting their goals, you know, restructure something look at creating more better habits like it has like a better energy too, sometimes in January just because of like the weather and all of that. So if you're in any kind of business that helps people to do this, you're in health and fitness. You're a business coach, professional organizer, if you're in fashion or styling, you're a personal or virtual assistant or so many other things. This is a great time for you to make sales.

Kelly Sinclair:

How do you set yourself up for sales, don't make the mistake of hitting pause on your business this summer, your competitors, they're not pausing. And these days, the buying journey is taking longer, it takes more time for people to gain enough trust in you to make a purchase. And there's a lot of reasons for this as well. One people are being more intentional about their money, too. There's more competition for your services. Three, a lot more people have been burned from a previous buying experience where they didn't get the results they want it because there's just been so much going on in the online space. Right. And lastly, with AI becoming really big on the scene, people are a little more cautious about who and what to trust because like, we don't really know what's real and what's fake anymore, online in the space. So the phrase out of sight and out of mind truly applies here. And you don't want that to be you.

Kelly Sinclair:

So let's talk about staying top of mind and the strategies that I'm going to share here Here are the foundational pieces that you should have in place throughout the year. And for the purpose of summer, you could think about scaling back on other things that you might be looking at, like pausing a big project or website overhaul or whatever else you think you might be wanting to do, so that you can actually simplify your visibility. And there's two parts to this one, consistent audience growth through visibility. So aka more eyeballs on your business, and two, consistent communication with your audience, which is how you build trust with your people. So if you just do these two things, every week, this summer, you will continue to build momentum, while you still get you prioritize your life. Sound good, let's break this down.

Kelly Sinclair:

Getting visible doesn't have to be a daunting task, it can seriously look like sending an email to a potential collaborator, applying for a speaking opportunity, pitching yourself to a podcast, you want to be featured on participating in a bundle giveaway, attending a networking event. There's such a variety and you get to choose and customize this based on your specific business, your strength, your desires, like the way that you want to show up because there is no one size fits all strategy here when it comes to visibility. The hardest part is actually the initiation of it, right? It's making the commitment, I bet that you have something on your to do list right now that you have just been moving and moving and moving week after week, because you just can't bring yourself to do it. I know this because I have been there too. Like, I don't remember when this was. But I had this idea of somebody that I wanted to reach out to, to make a connection with, because I saw this amazing community that she had built. And she was creating events. And she was bringing in speakers. And I wanted to be on that stage. But it seemed like a little bit too much of a reach. I just kept pushing it and like literally took me two months to send her an email. And when I finally sent the email, she replied right away, and we had a conversation. And we continued to have that conversation. And then she was on my podcast. And we just kept that relationship going. So you need to kickstart it to make that that ball start rolling, right? Then that trick is taking action and then execution. That's the easy part. This is why in all my years of marketing, I always create a plan, and then implement it.

Kelly Sinclair:

Going back and forth between thinking about what to do and then taking action. It can feel like ping pong in your brain, like deciding what should I do next, then doing something and going, why should I do next than doing something? Like that's what hurts. So I want you to think about this as like micro marketing plans for your summer. Each week, you're gonna decide what to do, and then do it. One small task equals epic momentum. And if you're over there thinking, How could one small thing create epic momentum, then I have literally so many examples that I want to share with you probably doubt about these other podcasts before. So if you are a regular listener, this might be the many it's time that you've heard this story. But I like to play this game of if I never X than I would have never why? Because the truth is, you don't always know what opportunities that one small action can create for you. Which is the exciting part. Right, because it's not about finding the right strategy. It's about taking the actions and seeing where it goes.

Unknown:

So I created this visibility challenge for myself last summer. Because for the exact same reasons on to go paddleboarding, I wanted to spend time with my kids, all that stuff. And the first thing that I wanted to do was pitch to the media about my podcasts. Now this may seem like more of a lift to you. And that's fair. But I have a PR girl, I have a background in media, I have relationships with the media. So to me, that was like the thing that was gonna get the ball rolling. But that wasn't actually the first thing I did. The first thing I did was I went to a pancake breakfast, where I knew that the radio hosts would be. And then I verbally told them that I was going to send them a note about my podcast, which then held me accountable to do the pitch, which led to the coverage that I received radio interview to online articles half a page in the newspaper being on the front page. Amazing coverage, right. And in and of itself. The results of that action are impressive and very helpful. But it wasn't just that it was that my podcast ratings spiked after all of that coverage, which then led to a company reaching out to me to pitch a guest to my show, who was a big name in In the entrepreneur space, who had big events with people that I admire and look up to, and then I was able to have a conversation with him, which then led me to creating a case study about these actions that I took and how I pitched myself and my podcast so that I could then use that then to pitch myself as a speaker for an event which was in Nashville, which led me to Music City, this April, not to mention my new Blue Suede cowboy boots, which I am obsessed with. And you're going to find me living in for the rest of the year, especially here in the Calgary area for a stampede. Then from there, so many new friendships, so many collaborations, I've booked podcast interviews with other people who were in that room. And like you don't know what's going to happen moving forward. And that's what's exciting is just like, that ripple continues to go out into the water, while other things are also being set in motion. So it's so exciting to think what can happen when you challenge yourself to take action, and then you stay committed to it consistently.

Kelly Sinclair:

And so the second part of your consistent visibility is the communication. Because you don't want to be that girl, I heard about one time at that thing, be the person that your audience is so grateful to have been introduced to you, because you provide so much value, and now they're your biggest fans. So this looks like you communicating with your audience consistently. But we're not just like going out and finding new people were also talking to them. So my preferred communication channel would definitely be email. And you can get creative about using it in different ways, different formats, adding images, videos, audio clips, whatever you want to really make your brand and your personality stand out that way. But the goal really is to continue to add value to the people that you have brought into your world, help them have aha moments, show them how they can move forward. And that way you stay present and top of mind. And these two things are the foundation of your ongoing marketing strategy, and the growth of your business. And it really is that simple.

Kelly Sinclair:

So to celebrate summer, to toast to this simplicity, I am so excited to share that I am hosting a live summer visibility challenge. So I am here to help you decide exactly what you're going to do for visibility each week, both audience growth and audience communication, and then hold you accountable that actually do it. We're going to spend 30 minutes a week together on Mondays to map out your visibility plan and take action right away. So you can think of this as accountability and co working combined with a group of peers who share your goals, and might just be the next great collaboration that you're looking for. Now, if you've done accountability before, I'm going to tell you that I do it differently. We don't come and sit and talk about what we're going to do. We come decide what we're doing. And then we do it right there. So I call these get ish done. Calls. I'm here to help you make visibility fun instead of something that you overthink and procrastinate about my talking to you right now. Don't worry, I hear you. I'm not judging you. I'm not shaming you, I just want to support you. And so not only are we going to have these weekly calls that will keep moving forward, keep you moving forward. I'm also hosting a bonus kickoff party, so that you can make new connections and get inspo for your visibility plan and celebrate your commitment to building momentum. Because this is the fun part. This isn't supposed to feel like heavy work. It's supposed to be like, I'm proud of myself, I'm taking action, I'm moving forward, even when it's summer. And I would rather be sipping a cocktail on my patio right now, let's make sure that you can have both Okay. And you're also going to get access to a prebuilt plug in play visibility calendar that you can customize with over 30 proven strategies to make taking action even easier. Like in and of itself, that piece is like your plan. So you don't have to think you can just pick from drop down menus, plug them into the days, you're gonna do them and then go, go do your thing. And I'm also going to be providing a q&a feed so that you're extra supported and you can keep your momentum going all summer.

Kelly Sinclair:

So you can join as of right now for a bonus call in June, and it runs until September the ninth. So you want to know the best part. This summer visibility challenge is only $197.
