Chantal is the local Calgarian behind Knitatude, No Shit Biz Tips and the President of YYC Girl Gang. Through her love of her small knitting biz she grew to fall in love with not only entrepreneurship, but the community within it. Known for her bright purple hair and her potty mouth, Chantal is easy to spot in the crowd - she's also probably the loudest. If she's not chatting someones ear off, you can bet to find her curled up with her knitting needles watching Netflix with her hubby.

“Knitatude was born in 2014 when Pinterest and circle scarves were in their hay-day. I was too cheap to purchase a scarf so I took matters into my own hands and picked up her grandmothers knitting needles and hit up youtube. Fast forward to today, though there have been many us and downs I'm now able to say that I design my own knitwear, sell it and provide patterns to around the world.

Girl Gang: After a few market collectives a group of gals came together (Nov 2015) to see each other from outside of their booths and started up YYC Girl Gang. What started as a simple instagram thread to get beers because a support group. We decided that if we needed this much help from each other, there must be others out there too.

No shit biz Tips: After struggling to make my own biz, I realized how much I loved chatting to people on lives and helping them out with their small businesses. I decided I wanted to be a source for people to bounce questions off of and learn from my mistakes. I created NSBT this year in March!” -Chantal Miyagishima
