How Mystical Sisterhood Was Born

Hi, I'm Maureen Spielman, and this is Mystical Sisterhood. I'm a soul Care Coach and lifelong learner committed to creating conscious conversations around joy and healing. Each week, I'll host healers, intuitives and other courageous women doing the necessary work of reclaiming our worthiness, honoring our intuition and letting the light in so we can more clearly see the light and others and ourselves. Hello, this is your host, Maureen Spielman, I started mystical sisterhood to offer a platform to talk about joy and healing and create community. I gather together intuitives, healers and other courageous women to share their work and tell their stories so that we may all grow and heal a little bit more about me and how I got here. I consider myself an everyday girl. Really, this couldn't be more true. I know people always say if I can do this, you can do this. And I never really used to believe it. But I'm beginning to, I feel that I have pieces in me that reflect on to you, and pieces of you that reflect back onto me, if that makes sense to you at all. When we share our stories, we share our humanity. And we see parts of ourselves and others and they see themselves in us too. I grew up in a beautiful, big Midwestern family. I have four sisters and a brother. Like so many of you, My childhood was the both and I played to my heart's content and enjoyed my family and friendships. I spent a lot of time outside exploring, like so many in our generation did. And I went through painful times and learn to take on ways of being that really weren't me. I went to college, worked, got another degree, got married, ran a couple of marathons, and had three babies. Put it this way. I did what I was conditioned to do. I did all these things, quote unquote, successfully, but had unrest inside. I didn't know how to lean into my intuition, I wasn't able to communicate my true feelings. I often operated from a survival version of myself versus my authentic self. Quite honestly, I often found myself in a state of overwhelm.

It was in the spring of 2018 that I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was the wake up call that I didn't know would change my life but did. The process not only woke me up to the fact that life is not a given. But the life is here for living and the universe led me in the direction of coaching. I had a graduate degree in speech language pathology, that I might be leaving behind, but I knew to follow the threads of the coaching programs put in front of me. Through every road I traveled for every person I met, I have immense gratitude. I've learned to look in the mirror and more times than not not always comfortable with what I see. Through the past few years, I've learned the following things, but not just limited to these, that we all have intuition guiding us through life, that we all have gifts encoded within us that are seeking to be fully expressed, that our emotions are here for us to decode and learn from that healing is always possible that our journeys are unique, that we are here to empower one another. That we are all powerful and can be empowered, that we are all here to develop our powerful voices. That all belief systems can upgrade or change. That limiting patterns and behaviors can transform that if I can transform you can transform and that joy and healing can coexist. I've walked away knowing that joy and healing can exist together. And women are meant to be in community with one another to grow and learn and nurture and receive. And so mystical sisterhood was born to offer this out into the world. What's your why?
