Words matter and we often aren’t aware that we’re labeling our child’s behavior in a negative way.  We justify it by seeing it as, “calling it like it is” or “just pointing it out” to our child.  If your child is shy…well, they’re shy….right?

As parents we have to remember the huge impact our words have on our children.  When they display “undesirable” behavior that we then assign a negative label that label can become part of their self-identity and their inner voice.

What I’m teaching you to do through this episode is to “Reframe” the way your see your child and their behavior.  Why?  Because when we see our child differently…we see a DIFFERENT child.

Can you imagine what life would be like without that negative voice or your hurtful self-talk?  That would be freeing!  This is the gift you can give your kids RIGHT NOW!

From the Podcast:

Behavior is often temporary, but labels can be wired into your child’s subconscious for a lifetime.

We reframe behavior for our child’s benefit AND for the benefit of the parent as well because the way we see our child influences our thoughts perspectives and attitudes about our child.

We can reframe our child’s behavior in a positive way that empowers them and isn’t rooted in SHAME and DISAPPROVAL.
