Welcome to another episode of The D Shift: Redefining Divorce and Beyond. Today’s conversation is a crucial one for many families. My guest, Amy Taylor and I talk about how to manage neurodiversity and mental health amidst the complexities of divorce and post-divorce life.
Amy is a dedicated social worker, mother, grandmother, and podcaster who lives with ADHD, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Known as the Mental Health Warrior and the Neurospicy Mama, Amy brings her expertise and personal experiences to look into how neurodiversity affects parenting and coping through the seismic shifts of divorce.
Whether it’s managing transitions for neurodiverse children or advocating for consistent schooling, this episode promises valuable insights for parents navigating these challenging waters. Practical and insightful, Amy’s passion for helping parents and kids is front and center in this important conversation.
About the Guest:
Amy Taylor is a 53 year old Divorced, Single Mom, with one kid still at home (13 year old daughter) and 3 grandkids living with her son and his wife. In her words - I had a horrible divorce but it was when my daughter was 1 so I've definitely moved on since then. I am happy alone though. I've tried dating and I just want to focus on my daughter and I and my grandchildren. I am also a college student and full time social worker. I live a fulfilling life while having bipolar disorder, ADHD, and anxiety. I am also working on my NLP certificate to be a life coach and started a new podcast to help women with mental health and / or who are neurodiverse like myself and my children.
