As you tune into each episode, you will receive insight into your own grief, how to eliminate it and what to do next. Before we start by one request. If any new insights or awareness land with you during this episode, please send me an email at info at the Ian Hawkins coaching.com. And let me know what you found. I know the power of this word, I love to hear the impact these conversations have. Okay, let's get into it.
The moment is etched in your memory, like it happened yesterday. It still gives you a physical reaction. Whenever you think about it. B is like a shutter or a twitcher shake, as you relive it in your mind. You may have opened up to friends or family. And often their response. When you talk about what you've experienced is they just reply with something similar that they've been through as if that's somehow going to help when really all you need is someone to listen and doesn't really help doesn't hear someone else's telling their story about us. Like it's completely invalidating what you're going through. And some other people don't even understand at all they're like, they don't understand why it would still be impacting you, they might say things like just get over. They like they think you're nuts times past or something like that. In your head, you're thinking, don't you think I've tried that you reckon I've tried to let go of it. If you stuck in this loop, because you've forgotten that you do have a choice to make things different.
You're not 100% clear on how you want things to be different. So the old pattern just repeats. So does that voice in your head that just keeps repeating the same messages and the pressure that you place on yourself mounts. It's relentless, right? Or want to remind you, it's not your fault. The problem is no one ever showed you how to change. It's just not something that's taught at school. When my clients are faced with these similar sorts of scenarios, or exactly the same scenarios, I get them to get clear on what good looks like. And if they're not sure. And get them to get clear on what they don't want. And then get them to deal with the opposite. So by creating this new vision for your future, can help a change. And that's exactly what happens for my clients. They sit there sales towards this new way of living. And the answer, start finding them the solution start finding them and the clearer they get on the vision. The quicker and more efficient they find those solutions. So if you wanna be able to make peace with that memory, so it's no longer holding any power over you. It starts with this vision. And you can take steps to create this vision now. Get yourself into a space maybe outside or in a space that you that you'd like to get creative. I've got a deck off the side of our place here where it's overlooking the bushland. It's tranquil. I can hear the birds as a fountain there. So it's a beautiful environment for me doing that creative sort of work, find what works for you. I also like getting away in nature sitting next to a river, a lake, the ocean in the bush and we're in a forest somewhere where it's cool While and just allow your pin to flow where it flows, like just a stream of consciousness because often the memory is not because you're stuck in the past. It's because you don't know what the future looks like. Get clear, so you know what you're working towards? Then you'll find out why. And then you'll work out how. That's the formula.
