Megan speaks with Brian about how learning is the key to success and how always seeking a mentor can propel you forward in business.
Brian was born in Union Town Pennsylvania. It is one of if not the poorest county in the state. He was around many different communities and backgrounds. His father was a blue-collar worker and he thanks his father for his work ethic he has today. He had apaper route at 11 years old. He learned early on about work ethic and what it takes to be a businessman and entrepreneur. He was a pretty good student in school but was not interested in school while there. He dropped out of college and went into retail. He ended up moving into business sales in a corporate setting. He moved to Miami Florida. He met an owner of a construction company and he asked Brian to come work for him. Brian was unsure but decided to work for him. He learned a lot during his time there about construction. He decided one day that he wanted to do this type of work on his own. In 2018 he created his own business. He had many great mentors while he was learning about construction. He was always looking for the next great Mentorship within his field. He was looking to find mentors that challenged him and pushed him to grow. He advisors people looking to start their own business and finding mentors would be to look into those mentors. Make sure they are the type of person you want to learn from.In March 2018 he started the Pavement Group. His companies work with large brand companies on their pavement work. They consult with these companies to help them with pavement asset management and the financials with the replacement and maintenance of the pavements/parking lots. They have a very unique approach to this and have technology to help these businesses that no on else has.
Here are some great episodes to start with.
