Matt Cundill was a 25 year radio on air personality, music director and program director. In 2014, on the anniversary of his 25th year in radio, he was let go. In the weeks and months after being “restructured”, he took a long look at the business he fell in love with, saw It was changing, and made changes for himself. He consolidated his voiceover talents into a business, and went looking for the next adventure. Two years later, he found his groove in podcasting.
While podcasting was not a new medium, it was beginning to find its place in the media world with audio success stories like Serial and This American Life. Subsequent trips to radio and podcast conventions confirmed where the future lay, and the Sound Off Media Company and its flagship podcast were born.
Since 2016, the Sound Off Podcast Network has been helping independent voices find their place through podcast. Matt has worked with businesses such as Lifespeak, the Canadian Human Rights Hub, and Institutions like Lower Canada College to build their respective communities. He has also worked alongside some great personalities like Erica Ehm, Maureen Holloway and Wendy Mesley, on their podcasts.
In 2024, the network grew to include other networks such as the Women in Media Network and Maji Media to grow their shows.
Matt splits time between his home in Winnipeg and winters in Spain where he is known to take in a few football matches in Seville or Malaga.
