On this episode, we’re thrilled to welcome Benjamin Rempel, a celebrated Canadian writer and essayist known for his dark and gritty tone. Widely published, Benjamin’s work has appeared in The Toronto Star, Our Canada, Blank Spaces, Streetlight, and Fifteen Stories High Anthology, among others. His fiction has been nominated for several honors, including being shortlisted for the 2023 Georgian Bay Story Slam and the 2019 Rising Spirits Writing Award. His first novel, "INFECT," was released in June 2024 through Chicken House Press.
When he’s not writing, you’ll find Benjamin hiking with his terrier, cheering on his kids in after-school sports, and supporting local charities. Despite the creepiness of his stories, his wife will tell you he has a soft spot for public libraries, farmer’s markets, and gets right giddy over Marvel movies.
Join us for a fascinating conversation as we delve into Benjamin’s writing journey, his inspirations, and the contrast between his dark fiction and his personal passions.
