Hockey Hall of Famer Kevin Lowe talks about winning SIX Stanley Cups [5 with the Edmonton Oilers + 1 breaking the NY Rangers' 54 year championship drought], learning he was a 1979 first round NHL draft choice over his rotary home telephone from Alan Eagleson, getting approached at his first training camp to move in together by some guy named Wayne Gretzky, scoring Edmonton’s first NHL goal [and earning #99 his first NHL point], celebrating the Rangers’ Cup win in a ticker tape parade in front of one million fans in Manhattan’s Canyon of Heroes, getting the call from Gretzky to help build the 2002 Olympic squad that won Canada’s first Gold Medal in 50 years, his interactions with Gordie Howe/Bobby Hull/Guy Lafleur/Pat Quinn/Glen Sather/Mark Messier/Lanny McDonald, his jersey retirement ceremony taking place the same night as Connor McDavid’s goal-scoring heroics, his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, and how he ended up donning the Gretzky Jofa-model helmet!
