GOLD SHIELDS EPISODE 25; RETIRED CLEVELAND POLICE OFFICER ANTHONY ESPADA, AND THE RESCUE OF THREE KIDNAPPED GIRLS AFTER 10 YEARS

Dan and Tom have had impactful episodes of GOLD SHIELDS in the past, but this powerful show will certainly be memorable. In 2002 to 2004 three young girls disappeared from the streets of Cleveland without a trace. This left the community frightened and the police baffled. 

On May 6, 2013, Police Officer Anthony Espada’s life was about to change forever. The 911 operator received a call from a girl claiming to be Amanda Berry, one of the girls kidnapped 10 years earlier. Espada and his partner responded to the call as fast as they could, coming to find out upon arriving at the scene, that it was in fact, Amanda Berry. Espada, and other Officers ran into a nearby house in search of two other kidnapped girls from 10 years earlier, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus, as well as Ariel Castro, the kidnapper. They, in fact, saved the two girls from a “House of Horrors” where they were held captive for 10 and 11 years, and Castro was arrested nearby at a local McDonalds.

Anthony Espada will take you on a chilling ride during the explanation of that day and what he faced when he responded to 2207 Seymour Avenue. Dan and Tom were speechless during this account of a bizarre call that impacted Anthony to his core, and still does to this day. Hear about the emotional toll this took on Anthony, and how he found the strength to accept his PTSD, and the treatment that followed.
