Many people believe the myths that Law Enforcement Officers are trigger happy and always shoot when confronted with armed people. Also, they believe that trauma can only have devastating impacts after a long law enforcement career.
Our guest John Saporsky, former police officer shatters those myths. He talks about the shootings he was involved in, his own near death in a traffic accident involving a stolen police vehicle and pursuit. He experienced trauma and the effects early in his career, which played a part in his decision to leave law enforcement.
John also talks about his mission to help other law enforcement officers transition to a life after policing, regardless of how long their career was.
