He also shares about the profound impact it had on Joe's physical and emotional well-being, and the subsequent challenges he faced when forced to redefine his identity beyond the badge. His wife, also a police officer, experienced her own career-ending injury, amplifying the complexity of their shared struggle. Together, they confronted the harsh realities of trauma, violence, and the difficult path to healing. Joe talks about how this drives his passion for his non profit Hero Hunt.
