Transitioning for Future Success with Don Davis

Today on Move the Ball™, retired NFL athlete, assistant strength and conditioning coach, and senior director of player affairs for the NFL PA Don Davis shares the importance of teaching athletes how to focus on the present while planning for the future. Listen in as Jennifer and Don discuss how football develops your communication skills, what it’s like working with Tom Brady, and how he’s helping pro athletes transition into careers after their time with the NFL.

Don Davis played for 11 seasons with the NFL on four different teams: the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, and New England Patriots. While with the Patriots, Don won two Super Bowl rings during the 2003 and 2004 season. After retiring from the NFL in 2007, Don was handpicked by Patriots Head Coach, Bill Belichik, to stay with the team as the assistant strength and conditioning coach and team chaplain. Currently, Don is the Senior Director of Player Affairs for the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) and is responsible for advancing and overseeing the management of varying aspects of player labor issues.
