My Favorite
SFTC was the 1st podcast I listened to and even though I listen to other True Crime podcasts, I never miss a Southern Fried episode. I love that Erika Kelly is such an advocate for Domestic Violence Survivors.

Great podcast!
Keep up the great work Erica! Your insights and honesty make this one of my favorite podcasts! Keep speaking the truth! Don’t pay attention to the haters!

Beautiful!
You are the best!! We needed this now, thank you!!

Wonderful podcast
She does such an amazing job. This is a great podcast- well researched and compelling storytelling

Excellent!
I love your show and your southern draw!! Forget what people think and say keep doing your show the way you see fit!!!!!

One of the best!
I love this show. I have been listening to Ms. Kelly since pretty much the beginning. She tells well researched cases, giving insight into the possible whys of the cases and the perpetrators. I know that may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think it provides valuable insight into the mind of the murderer. I highly recommend this show to anyone who lives true crime.

Love it
Great stories and research. She’s sassy and I’m here for it. The longer you listen, the more you get to know Erica and to know her is to love her!

Wonderful
I never ever write reviews but this show is truly deserving of 5 stars. The tone , content and details never disappoint. Erica’s voice is friendly and familiar and yes I’m from the south. Keep them coming SFTC.

Great show!!
I love how she takes a minute to consider the perpetrator’s background in possible explanation for the crimes. These mitigating circumstances are as important as the act to understanding the crime. It’s not a defense, it’s all sides of the story. This show is one of my favorites!

Great Podcast
I am hooked! Love the way she tells these cases.

Tried and True
I subscribe to Southern Fried and it’s like an old friend at this point. It’s well researched by Erica and Haley Gray (her research fingerprints are all over some of the best true crime podcasts out today). The narrative of the events flow well and Erica tries to shine a light on the victim(s) and provide context for the circumstances that lead to the horrible outcomes these stories inevitably have.

Gold standard
This host’s voice is so soothing you could forget you’re listening to a horrific crime each episode, but you don’t because her story telling is so very compelling. I adore the way she seeks finding out all of the information, giving her listeners the clearest picture possible of the crime and showing the ripple effects from it. Thank you so much SFTC for many many happy hours of listening.

lots of humanity...
she’s just the best…i love that she has a point of view…if you don’t like it…don’t listen…it’s simple…

Nails it every time.
If you’re not just a person who indulges in true crime but also understands there is usually a reason these crimes occur, this is the podcast for you.

Well done!
I absolutely look forward to the next episode. Such a well done podcast. Erica’s voice is so soothing and her research is spot on.

Amazing podcast
Thank you. Always inclusive.

Smart & Sassu
Great podcast- well researched and insightful. I appreciate the host’s non-biased presentation of the facts and I admire her critical analysis of each case (which sometimes involve politics because that’s the reality of this world.)

Great show!
Not only is Erica’s voice very soothing and just wonderful to listen to, but she really does he let research and presents you with the facts.

Favorite True crime podcast
I was hooked at episode 1 a few years ago and listen every week. The research is thorough and Erika does an amazing job of telling the story of the crime and all the background on suspects, victims, and details surrounding the case. A must listen!!

Favorite
One of my favorite podcast. I listen to every episode and have gone back to catch up on the ones that I missed. I love the back story on the criminal, it gives insight on things to look out for.

Great storyteller!
This was the first podcast I ever listened to and I’m still hooked! Ericka has such a great voice and is an amazing writer/storyteller. She does a great job of keeping to the facts but, if she interjects her opinion, we know it’s her opinion. She is very organized with her stories and makes sure that her listeners get all the facts. Always excited when a new episode come out!

Thoroughly researched
I’ve listened to a lot of true crime podcasts and read a lot of true crime books. One thing I value when consuming true crime stories is a thoroughly researched story that doesn’t just repeat gossip and assumptions. One of the easiest ways to tell a story of violence is to make the perpetrator into a monster and the victim into a saint. Rarely is a story so clearly black and white. There is no denying anyone who chooses violence is acting in a heinous manner, but most people are a combination of good and bad and what leads them to acting in such a monstrous way is complicated. Erica always looks at the history of the perpetrator to search for things that might have happened in their lives that affected their personality/mental health and ability to cope with stress and adversity. If we can identify some of the many contributing factors to violence against others perhaps we can find ways to prevent it. People aren’t usually monsters but they can do monstrous things. I want to know how that happens and how to recognize the threat of violence in time to prevent it. Thanks for all the details and willingness to talk about the many shades of gray in each story, Erica.

My fav podcast
I love love listening to Erica, she gives so much history to the area of where the crime happened and also gives the victims and families the at most respect. Keep up the great work

I live for true crime podcasts
And SFTC is my number one favorite. Erika’s voice is so soothing, the way she tells the story is so easy to follow and her (along with Haley) research into each case doesn’t compare to any other true crime podcast.

Excellent
Great research and story telling. She is to the point and insightful. Thank you.

Love it!
I used to listen to this podcast as my “evening wind down” but it has now become one of my “need it now” podcasts. Erica is an amazing story teller and I love that she dives into the histories of her subjects. Nuance and exploration of the human psyche is what puts this podcast above most others. It’s real storytelling that is thorough and well researched. If you’re done with the one off 25 minute shows that just scratch the surface, you’ve found your new fa. Highly recommend

Wonderful podcast!
My husband and I love to listen to SFTC every day when we walk our dogs. The stories are compelling and I feel like we really get to know the victims. Erica has a wonderful voice that is perfect for this podcast. SFTC is one of my favorite podcasts!!

In My Top Five
From the first time I heard Erica, SFTC leaped into my top 5 favorite podcasts. Her soothing, storytelling voice is so suited to the cases she covers. Her research is thorough and I always look forward to new episodes. She has thoughtful and compelling insights. Keep up the great work! Take care now 😉

Love it!
Love hearing Erica’s voice and her love of/ understanding of southern culture. She doesn’t sugar coat anything and I really like hearing her take on things, even if I disagree with a small point from time to time. Anyway, just wanted to say I’ve listened to every episode and you all are doing a great job!

My Favorite Podcast
Compassionate, intelligent, authentic, and nuanced. Erica captures the very southern practice of simultaneously seeing both sides of each coin. It is scripted, which demonstrates preparation and solid research, something I strongly prefer to listening to some podcasters who natter on. This is an excellent podcast for anyone who is interested in the “why” of criminal acts rather than the gory details. Erica digs into family dynamics and personal histories and presents a wholistic picture of each of the characters. Additionally, she always includes an informative narrative about the history of the locales. The south has such a remarkable history and, even though I’ve lived here all of my life, I continue to be delighted by the variety of cultures across our region. I look forward to each new episode and tend to gobble it up a little too quickly. But, the good news is that each episode is as interesting when I revisit them. I often go back and re-listen to older episodes and sometimes find that I actually pick up more information the second or third time around. I can’t recommend this highly enough.
