Compassionate, intelligent, authentic, and nuanced. Erica captures the very southern practice of simultaneously seeing both sides of each coin. It is scripted, which demonstrates preparation and solid research, something I strongly prefer to listening to some podcasters who natter on.
This is an excellent podcast for anyone who is interested in the “why” of criminal acts rather than the gory details. Erica digs into family dynamics and personal histories and presents a wholistic picture of each of the characters.
Additionally, she always includes an informative narrative about the history of the locales. The south has such a remarkable history and, even though I’ve lived here all of my life, I continue to be delighted by the variety of cultures across our region.
I look forward to each new episode and tend to gobble it up a little too quickly. But, the good news is that each episode is as interesting when I revisit them. I often go back and re-listen to older episodes and sometimes find that I actually pick up more information the second or third time around.
I can’t recommend this highly enough.
