In general, there are three types of businesses in a recession: those that are doing well, those that are stable, and those that are struggling. When making investments during a recession, I tend to place more emphasis on stability and industries or companies that have shown a historic ability to withstand those times. Look for investment opportunities that offer consistency in good and bad economic times, rather than looking to create massive returns.
