About

Sarah Burke, is the CEO and founder of the Women In Media Network (WIMN). Her story, spanning over fifteen years in the field, is not just her own, but a mirror to the experiences of countless women in media. Facing challenges that are all too common – being undervalued, underpaid, and often belittled in a male-dominated workspace – Sarah's experience became fuel for her mission.

The Women in Media Podcast network is a home for women and gender-diverse
podcasters on a mission to uplift, inspire, and empower one another.

Sarah recognized the pervasive need for a platform where women's voices come first, are celebrated, and where their stories are shared without fear. Sarah's goal is to empower content creators with newfound freedom from the organizations they were once dependent on.

Sarah's vision for WIMN is more than just an advocacy group; it's a movement. It's about transforming the media landscape into a diverse and equitable arena where women's voices are not only heard, but influential. Her commitment to this cause is not just about challenging the status quo; it’s about rewriting it. Under her leadership, the network will amplify underrepresented voices, share wisdom and resources, and create a better future for content creators. Burke plans to expand the network with a special dedication to eliminating financial barriers for Black voices, Indigenous voices, and other voices of colour.

The Women in Media Network is a natural extension of Burke’s popular podcast, Women In Media, where she invites fellow women in media to explore the collective triumphs and challenges they experience in the spotlight. Influential guests in entertainment, sports, and social media share personal stories surrounding topics like entrepreneurship, bullying, motherhood, diversity, and inclusivity.

Through WIMN, Sarah not only addresses the systemic issues in the media industry, but also empowers women to confidently share their stories, celebrate their achievements, and pursue their ambitions without fear of retribution. Her story is a powerful reminder that change starts with a single voice – a voice that dares to speak up, to challenge, and to inspire. Sarah's journey and the work of WIMN will light the path for a future where every creator maintains ownership of their own content, unencumbered by the barriers of the past.
