Add narrator to my resumé✍️

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been recording the audiobook for my upcoming book “Everything but Money” (pre-order now, available Dec. 31). Shout out to recording engineer Ashton Price, my audio engineer!

Not only has it been such an amazing experience to record how I meant my book to be heard from my own voice, but I wanted to share some things I learned about the whole process in case you’ve ever been curious…

1️⃣Don’t wear jeans because you will unbutton them. Yoga and sweat pants only.

2️⃣Eat a big breakfast because once your tummy starts to rumble around lunch time, it’s game over (those mics pick up everything!).

3️⃣Bring the biggest bottle of water you can find because you’re going to be constantly taking sips.
Also drink as much Throat Coat tea as you can.

4️⃣Isolate yourself like it’s Covid times until you’re done recording the book (I got sick and lost my voice halfway through recording and it sucked!).

5️⃣Make sure to read through your entire book aloud before heading to the recording studio so you’ll know how you want to say everything.

6️⃣Note down name pronunciations of anyone you mention in the book so you don’t have to Google them during recording.

7️⃣Let your publisher know if you notice any mistakes or typos so they can fix them before it’s printed (I did and thank goodness I caught them just in time!)
