If you want to join all your finances together, go right ahead. But don’t feel obligated to do so just because you got married. Do it because you want to and it makes sense for you and your relationship.
Having joint finances doesn’t make you more married just as having separate bank accounts doesn’t make you any less married.
Personally, I like the hybrid approach where you’ve got some joint accounts for joint bills and savings goals, and separate bank accounts for your individual bills and savings goals.
This way you can have that sense of connection with your joint accounts while still having some freedom and autonomy to spend some money how you want with your individual accounts.
