Literally all I see on Instagram is people achieving crazy things in the most ridiculously short time frames.
Sure, this could be motivating, but it’s also not realistic for most of us.
Growth and success almost never come over night or in just a few months. It usually takes years!
Since I quit my job and life in Vancouver, where I felt I was stagnating 4 years after graduating university, I took the biggest risk with my husband and moved to Toronto where we didn’t know anyone and didn’t have any work lined up.
The first 3 years were rough, but the following 7 have been an amazing journey.
Since moving here, it’s taken me 10 years to be in love with my job (running my own financial education business), get a book deal, and own a house. My biggest personal dreams.
And during those 10 years I thought about giving up so much because it seemed like success had to come quickly not slowly if it was ever gonna happen.
I’m here to tell you that slow growth is real. Don’t give up. Keep at it. It’s so much sweeter when you get there.
