Protecting Your Online Identity & Preventing Fraud: TELUS Online Security

One thing no one talks about is protecting your online identity, which is crazy since cybercrime in Canada has increased by 130% since 2020, and $380 million was lost by Canadians from scams and fraud in 2021 as per the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre? Not only that there were 67,533 victims of fraud in 2021, an increase of 60% compared to 2020.

This is all to say that financial fraud, scams, and cybercrime in general are on the rise. So what can we do to avoid becoming another statistic and protect your online identity? I talk about one simple solution to help stay safer online in this video (hint, it’s to use protection like TELUS Online Security Powered by Norton). Because these fraudsters are getting smarter and more tech-savvy, which means we need to work harder at avoiding their traps.

In this video, I share tips about how to avoid falling victim to financial fraud, how I almost fell victim myself just a few months ago and how I'm still a victim of an ongoing spear phishing scam, and what I've personally set up to put myself in a more secure position personally and for my business.
