Although I love working for myself, often what’s shown by other “entrepreneurs” on here is complete fiction as to what a normal work day looks like.
For the first year of self-employment, I didn’t take a single day off. Which inevitably led to burnout.☹️
It took years for me to give myself weekends back and incorporate more balance in my life and even still, sometimes an important email has to be answered or I have to film something on a Saturday. And just as a reference, I’ve been working for myself full-time for just over 7 years.
So although I love it, sometimes I feel like I had more freedom, or at least security, working a 9-to-5. So don’t get caught up in the BS lots of people are spreading. Running a small business isn’t as glamorous as they make it out to be. But if it’s something you’re passionate about and you set boundaries for yourself (which I didn’t do at the beginning, big mistake), it can also be the best thing ever.
