00:00:00.050 --> 00:00:03.799
Do you ever feel like there's something invisible holding you back from reaching your full potential?

00:00:04.080 --> 00:00:08.810
Like no matter how much you learn or how hard you try, you still feel stuck.

00:00:09.070 --> 00:00:10.669
I know it sucks and I've been there.

00:00:10.830 --> 00:00:11.470
Trust me.

00:00:11.619 --> 00:00:21.532
So today I wanted to give you an example of how that happened to me and how I overcame that by discovering what that hidden struggle was that I had no idea about.

00:00:21.861 --> 00:00:36.515
And at the very end, we're also going to go into how you can begin to identify your unseen blockages with some practical tools that I learned and ultimately at least start your journey to self awareness and uncovering, some things that are holding you back so you can get to your potential.

00:00:39.915 --> 00:00:50.835
You're listening to the New Age Human Podcast, where we have mind expanding conversations around science, spirituality, and alternative health to help you unlock your true potential and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

00:00:51.055 --> 00:01:04.430
My name is Jon Astacio, and I help entrepreneurs and professionals just like you manage stress and uncover inner obstacles so that you can next level your success, whether that be financial freedom or simply living a fulfilling life.

00:01:04.835 --> 00:01:06.206
Obviously free of stress.

00:01:06.506 --> 00:01:09.001
Now, what that said, let's get to the show.

00:01:09.054 --> 00:01:10.493
All right, let's go.

00:01:10.524 --> 00:01:13.343
So you're probably wondering, okay, John, what happened to you?

00:01:13.713 --> 00:01:14.894
What did you discover?

00:01:15.153 --> 00:01:20.209
Well, recently, or just in general, when you have a podcast, whether you have, uh, I'm not sure.

00:01:20.420 --> 00:01:47.307
If you have a podcast or you do something and you meet a lot of people with this show, I, I, I meet a lot of really knowledgeable people and some of them write books and they have all these inventions and, um, recently, I met a couple of people that are amazing and they're just full of knowledge and I was given like three books and I just, my interest was peaked a lot.

00:01:47.326 --> 00:01:50.346
There's just a lot of information and I love information.

00:01:50.346 --> 00:01:51.197
I love researching.

00:01:51.197 --> 00:01:54.066
I love finding out just the root cause of things.

00:01:54.147 --> 00:01:55.716
And I'm in discovery mode.

00:01:55.757 --> 00:01:57.126
I'm like a truth seeker.

00:01:57.126 --> 00:01:58.887
I seek just knowledge.

00:01:59.507 --> 00:02:07.322
Um, but the Negative side of that was increased anxiety, stress, overwhelm, all the things that I'm helping other people with.

00:02:07.481 --> 00:02:13.681
And they say, the reason why I'm in this business is to, is because I am my best customer, right?

00:02:13.722 --> 00:02:16.111
I am working on.

00:02:16.597 --> 00:02:25.093
Managing my stress, my anxiety and really work hard to find better ways to help you with yours I realized that.

00:02:25.361 --> 00:02:30.012
At the end of the day, I was replacing my lack of confidence with research and data.

00:02:30.062 --> 00:02:31.861
That was my big discovery.

00:02:32.241 --> 00:02:37.162
I kept on researching and researching and I wasn't really getting much done.

00:02:37.662 --> 00:02:45.081
There's things that I knew I had to do, but I was chasing the shiny object, right?

00:02:45.081 --> 00:02:54.222
I had that whole shiny object syndrome and, I'm learning about frequency healing and I'm learning about digestive health and I'm like, just all this really cool stuff.

00:02:54.222 --> 00:02:55.491
Dream analysis.

00:02:55.762 --> 00:03:02.722
All these are really good things that you can put into your practice of self discovery and, um, unleashing your, your potential.

00:03:02.722 --> 00:03:07.331
But for me, it was like, there's just a lot to handle.

00:03:08.151 --> 00:03:15.731
And I noticed that when I would talk to people, I would just keep talking and talking and talking, and I would see the glaze over look in their eyes.

00:03:15.752 --> 00:03:17.122
And I'm like, what's going on?

00:03:17.312 --> 00:03:21.991
I'm doing something wrong, and I'm not sure because I'm learning a lot, but something's off.

00:03:22.072 --> 00:03:22.481
I'm not.

00:03:22.641 --> 00:03:26.551
I feel like I should be further than where I'm at now when it comes to just.

00:03:26.878 --> 00:03:28.919
accomplishment and getting things done.

00:03:28.919 --> 00:03:32.038
Like I have a to do list and it just doesn't get done.

00:03:32.989 --> 00:03:47.526
And so right from a mixture of meditating, and conversing with people that I confide in, I was able to get out of my head really, and really see myself from a different perspective.

00:03:47.526 --> 00:03:50.955
And yeah, it was a, it was ultimately a confidence thing.

00:03:51.413 --> 00:03:55.174
I, I found myself feeling like I needed to share what I know.

00:03:55.574 --> 00:03:56.924
To prove my value.

00:03:57.304 --> 00:04:00.843
And, um, what helps me with my confidence is.

00:04:01.329 --> 00:04:02.079
Working out.

00:04:02.378 --> 00:04:08.919
So you see how it's interesting how once you start uncovering what the real thing is, you can go deeper.

00:04:08.949 --> 00:04:17.403
And so then obviously if it's confidence in a certain aspect of your life, then ask yourself, okay, so why that?

00:04:17.403 --> 00:04:18.512
And just keep going deeper.

00:04:18.723 --> 00:04:37.992
if I'm lacking confidence, how do I get confidence, the shortest way has been to, Increase my physical fitness and that helps with stress and confidence, And it's been helping me a lot because it also strengthened my ability to be okay with what I know now, move forward and then grow, you know, increase your knowledge as you, as you move forward.

00:04:38.233 --> 00:04:48.913
So I wanted to share that with you because honestly, after, uh, I had that revelation of it just being something as simple as confidence.

00:04:49.612 --> 00:04:52.572
I was able to get more tasks done.

00:04:52.833 --> 00:04:59.083
I was able to see things more clearly, things that seemed completely unrelated.

00:04:59.295 --> 00:05:00.685
they were affected, right?

00:05:00.685 --> 00:05:01.545
I got more done.

00:05:01.814 --> 00:05:03.105
I was able to.

00:05:03.524 --> 00:05:07.204
Organize the office a little bit because things started piling up, right?

00:05:07.204 --> 00:05:08.504
You're I got books.

00:05:08.654 --> 00:05:13.975
I think I have like four books next to my bedside like just obviously this kid wants knowledge, right?

00:05:15.014 --> 00:05:17.834
I thought that knowledge is power.

00:05:18.394 --> 00:05:19.374
We hear that a lot.

00:05:20.014 --> 00:05:24.733
Knowledge is power, but essentially knowledge is potential power.

00:05:25.374 --> 00:05:28.923
If you think like a Ferrari, that is power, right?

00:05:29.113 --> 00:05:31.134
But until you put gas in it.

00:05:31.884 --> 00:05:38.324
And put it on the street and start pressing, you know, pressing the pedal and going and taking action.

00:05:38.783 --> 00:05:39.853
You're not going to go anywhere.

00:05:40.194 --> 00:05:41.274
It's just a Ferrari.

00:05:41.274 --> 00:05:43.033
A Ferrari is potential power.

00:05:43.394 --> 00:05:47.264
It's a potential to race down the highway or on the racetrack.

00:05:47.264 --> 00:05:53.579
It's a potential to experience what it feels like to go zero to 60 in like, Two or three seconds.

00:05:53.579 --> 00:06:04.819
And it's, I've had that chance and it was pretty cool, but There's one thing to learn about the factual parts of something that can go fast and, and all that versus actually doing it.

00:06:05.129 --> 00:06:06.968
The experience is completely different.

00:06:07.278 --> 00:06:07.478
And.

00:06:08.084 --> 00:06:09.803
It will open up new doors.

00:06:09.944 --> 00:06:13.694
So I would say, remember that knowledge is potential power.

00:06:13.954 --> 00:06:15.514
It's not power in itself.

00:06:15.894 --> 00:06:21.874
It's the potential to take action on what you know and change your life and the lives of other people.

00:06:22.153 --> 00:06:31.634
So let's, let's get to the part where I promise where we're going to talk about how you can find and uncover your limiting beliefs, right?

00:06:32.004 --> 00:06:32.564
And so.

00:06:33.233 --> 00:06:34.153
What do we do?

00:06:34.163 --> 00:06:35.223
What's like the first step?

00:06:35.223 --> 00:06:42.103
one, understand that like an iceberg, what you know about yourself is tip of the iceberg.

00:06:42.184 --> 00:06:42.494
So.

00:06:43.014 --> 00:06:44.593
What do we do?

00:06:44.593 --> 00:06:48.624
We're in need to finding out what's below the surface, right?

00:06:48.684 --> 00:06:51.987
And there's a couple methods to do so, but where do you start?

00:06:52.148 --> 00:06:54.658
It starts with your intention and it starts with your goal.

00:06:55.298 --> 00:06:56.247
What for?

00:06:57.367 --> 00:06:57.947
Big whoop.

00:06:57.997 --> 00:06:58.997
Like, why?

00:06:59.028 --> 00:06:59.548
Why?

00:06:59.567 --> 00:07:00.437
Why are we doing this?

00:07:00.447 --> 00:07:04.778
What's going to keep you on the path of self discovery?

00:07:05.442 --> 00:07:07.273
When things get tough, right?

00:07:07.273 --> 00:07:09.742
So before you start anything, know your why, know your goal.

00:07:09.742 --> 00:07:16.353
And I know, those of you that are self, development buffs in there, this is not new, but we have to start with the basics, right?

00:07:16.353 --> 00:07:16.963
The foundation.

00:07:17.343 --> 00:07:22.812
Now, step two would be to be open to self discovery and change.

00:07:23.233 --> 00:07:24.903
Some of us don't like change.

00:07:25.642 --> 00:07:29.473
I'm a Capricorn and apparently Capricorns don't like change, but.

00:07:29.833 --> 00:07:30.653
I like change.

00:07:30.742 --> 00:07:31.992
So maybe I'm proving them wrong.

00:07:32.322 --> 00:07:34.713
So yes, be open to self discovery and change.

00:07:35.142 --> 00:07:37.452
And here are some examples of self discovery.

00:07:37.773 --> 00:07:38.163
Okay.

00:07:38.353 --> 00:07:41.523
if something doesn't make sense, it's not logical.

00:07:41.533 --> 00:07:43.492
Like why this doesn't, I don't get it.

00:07:43.853 --> 00:07:45.283
Just be open to it.

00:07:45.997 --> 00:07:48.778
Because there's a reason why it doesn't make sense, right?

00:07:49.064 --> 00:07:51.625
It's beyond your logic, it's beyond your understanding.

00:07:51.774 --> 00:07:56.134
So therefore, there's something new to discover and to become.

00:07:56.365 --> 00:07:56.654
Okay?

00:07:57.514 --> 00:07:58.435
Here are some examples.

00:07:58.915 --> 00:08:00.944
One would be guided meditation.

00:08:02.024 --> 00:08:03.725
Two, journaling.

00:08:03.995 --> 00:08:10.144
Preferably after your meditation or I would say first in the morning or late at night.

00:08:11.194 --> 00:08:12.024
Make that a habit.

00:08:12.814 --> 00:08:15.214
Another one would be dream analysis.

00:08:15.254 --> 00:08:29.865
Now, dream analysis, if you've listened to prior episodes where I went over how to analyze your dreams and tips and tricks to do so, just remember, you need to write down your dream immediately.

00:08:30.050 --> 00:08:31.151
after waking up.

00:08:31.394 --> 00:08:36.375
and as a reminder, be open to what you find, even if it doesn't make sense.

00:08:36.894 --> 00:08:44.325
So the third thing I would suggest is be consistent so that you can find things like triggers and patterns.

00:08:44.705 --> 00:08:58.654
I have a client that doesn't like journaling, but if you don't journal, it will be in your head, but it'll be much harder for you to figure out and see a trigger or a pattern because the patterns are what you don't see when it's, it's in your head.

00:08:58.664 --> 00:09:00.544
Sometimes you need a bird's eye view.

00:09:00.914 --> 00:09:11.615
So to speak of your journaling and you go through pages and you circle what stands out at you or you can highlight, Just it's got to be consistent so you can see repetition.

00:09:12.014 --> 00:09:17.404
Another thing would be when you're seeing and looking at what those triggers and patterns.

00:09:17.404 --> 00:09:20.004
What are what are some recurring thoughts?

00:09:20.014 --> 00:09:22.504
Think of emotions, behaviors.

00:09:22.504 --> 00:09:26.804
These are some things you want to take a look at as being part of.

00:09:27.061 --> 00:09:29.400
What's hidden as an obstacle.

00:09:29.581 --> 00:09:35.471
Another thing would be a situational awareness thing where it could be an environment that triggered you that day.

00:09:35.711 --> 00:09:45.841
And you'll get better at doing journaling, and note taking as you realize the data that you're missing, you're going to like myself, I'm like, Oh man.

00:09:45.841 --> 00:09:47.681
But like, what was I doing that day?

00:09:48.341 --> 00:09:53.610
Now, you know, going forward, I'm going to write a little bit more detailed on what I was doing that day.

00:09:53.910 --> 00:09:57.110
What kind of food was I eating right for me?

00:09:57.140 --> 00:10:08.400
I started doing, intermittent fasting because I noticed that I would get frustrated a lot in the mornings because I couldn't think straight after having, carbs like, like bread and stuff.

00:10:08.400 --> 00:10:10.927
So I kick that to the curb in the mornings.

00:10:11.118 --> 00:10:30.285
And then, I would say the last thing to be cognizant of when you're looking for patterns and whatnot is pay attention to your physical changes and reactions to these things, because stress in Chinese medicine is associated to your gut health, And a loss of a loved one.

00:10:30.640 --> 00:10:34.134
That feeling of loss, it actually triggers your lungs.

00:10:34.164 --> 00:10:35.985
So it can go both ways.

00:10:35.985 --> 00:10:42.105
You can see what you currently have as an issue and then see how that's related to how you're feeling.

00:10:42.184 --> 00:10:48.654
And then the other way around, see how you're feeling and see what type of physical reaction your body is having that day.

00:10:48.695 --> 00:10:51.914
Kind of like, for those of us that like to party, right?

00:10:52.345 --> 00:11:03.125
And, uh, you come home and you're, you're throwing up and you're at the, the toilet bowl and you're thinking, what did I drink that made me so sick, right?

00:11:03.315 --> 00:11:11.004
Or are you going to, let's say you're having a bad experience in the bathroom and you're wondering what did I eat to cause this pain, right?

00:11:11.884 --> 00:11:18.811
I'm sorry if, uh, if this triggered a graphic memory for you, that's the first thing that popped into my head.

00:11:18.811 --> 00:11:37.961
And sometimes you gotta go with what comes in your head because, on a deeper level, I believe that if you go with what goes into your mind, As you're saying it and you go with that first, that means that a lot of people, especially in this situation where it's a podcast, a lot of people that are listening can relate and that's like the best thing to do.

00:11:37.971 --> 00:11:43.311
So I guess we all have that issue or have dealt with that.

00:11:44.181 --> 00:12:05.931
So in closing, as we bring everything together, Once you find out what it is that is triggering or the patterns and, things come to light, like for me, it was that confidence piece that I thought I overcame, finding the solution starts to become a lot easier and asking the right people, doing the right things, giving yourself a break.

00:12:05.931 --> 00:12:06.671
You'll know what to do.

00:12:06.671 --> 00:12:14.826
And if you don't know that, is likely because there's something else that you need to uncover and you have to keep going deeper and deeper and deeper.

00:12:15.145 --> 00:12:20.285
And if you want to go deeper with some guidance, I'll, I'm definitely down to help you out.
