Nicole Seagriff: Nurse Practitioner, Onsite Medical Director, NP Residency Program Clinical Director

Nicole Seagriff: Nurse Practitioner, Onsite Medical Director, NP Residency Program Clinical Director

No, but really, what do you do as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)…and an Onsite Medical Director…and a NP Residency Program Clinical Director? You stay very, very busy. Nicole has an amazing career path that includes roles she knew early on that she wanted to pursue along with some that she took on when she saw gaps that needed to be filled and opportunities to help make a difference in healthcare communities and patient care. Moving from registered nurse early in her career to nurse practitioner, she was able to start helping patients in a primary care role, which was especially meaningful to her from her own experiences. Later she completed additional training and degrees that furthered her medical education while sharpening her leadership skills, and soon took on roles managing clinical operations and programs at the Community Health Center, Inc., where she practiced.

We talk about the dual nature of her roles in both practice and policy, and how each perspective helps inform the other. She touches on the joys of working in family practice where you can see your patients grow up and treat multiple generations, to the challenges faced by the entire medical community over the past few years in particular. Throughout our conversation, her compassion and care for serving the needs of the communities she works in is ever present.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Nicole is a passionate advocate for breast cancer research, fundraising and support for patients and survivors. She is President of The Pink Agenda, a nonprofit organization committed to raising money for breast cancer research and care, as well as awareness of the disease among young professionals.
