The World Cow Chip Throwing Contest in Beaver, Oklahoma has been a staple since 1969. This unusual sporting event is based around throwing a piece of cow dung for distance.
Beaver is a town in the Oklahoma Panhandle and is known as the Cow Chip Capital of the World. Beaver began as a stop on the Jones and Plummer Trail.
