On this episode of the Original Sports Podcast with Mark Maradei we are celebrating our 100th episode. Hard to believe when this all started back in March of 2020 that we would get to this point but we have and there is much, much more work to be done. We are joined on this episode by a regular recently in Mike Neubeiser and former high school and college coach Dave Mencarini. Dave does not disappoint by talking about his years of coaching stops and some of the great individuals he had the pleasure of working with. We dig into how Dave and Mike had an "ah ha" moment with a player well before they won their first state championship and some of Dave's influences as a coach that lead to his career of success. Dave talks about current Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada and his relationship with him also meeting Mike Tomlin while his son, Dino, was being courted by the University of Maryland.
I can guarantee you'll walk away a more informed football fan with admiration for a couple of Maryland high school head football coaches who know how to get it done.
