Navigating Life's Twists and Turns with former Pro Football player Malik Boynton

This week's guest on the Original Sports Podcast with Mark Maradei is Malik Boynton. Boynton has played football all his life. After a challenging time growing up in Detroit Michigan,  Malik parlayed his solid grades and athletic talents as an all state high school football player into a productive football career playing for Austin Peay University. Boynton got a shot with the Pittsburgh Steelers following his college playing days and it was not meant to be but that didn't stop him from continuing his journey. His playing career then took him to the Alliance of American Football League where he played for the Memphis Express. He then went north to play for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian football league before his most recent stop with Tuscon Sugar Skulls. 

We will talk with Malik about his challenges growing up in Detroit, how he used football as a tool to help him cope with tragedy and how he was able to create opportunity out of adversity through his time at Austin Peay University. For our “We Just Gotta Know” segment we will have Malik share with us who he feels are the top five defensive backs currently in the National Football League and he thinks so.
