University of Pittsburgh Receiver Tre Tipton: The Journey Continues

On this episode of the Steel City Nation podcast we will speak with Tre Tipton. Tipton is a receiver for the University of Pittsburgh who has been granted a 6th year by the NCAA due to injuries and will be instrumental for the Panthers offense in 2020. He joined the Panthers in 2015 and has been a contributor, when healthy, since then. Coming out of little known Apollo Ridge High School, Tipton not only excelled in football but also was a track athlete who won the state long jump title his senior year. Additionally he was recognized as Male Athlete of the Year by several Pittsburgh based newspaper publications. Tipton was highly active in community service, he was honored on the 2019 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and received the Freddie Solomon Community Spirit Award. Tre graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in communication and is currently in graduate school for social work while he continues to build the program he created called L.OV.E.

We will discuss with Tre his recruiting process and why he chose the University of Pittsburgh. His other passions in terms of high school sports. What he foresees the 2020 season unfolding like at Pitt and how will be a part of that. Tre will also share with us his L.O.V.E. project that he is CEO of and talk about his future following his collegiate career. Tre’s contribution to our Decade Definers will feature his five most memorable games he has been prt of. .
