Spotify for Podcasters just added a long overdue feature to their app!
‘Comments’ allows any listener to leave comments on your podcast episodes. This feature just started rolling out and replaces the Q&A feature.
This is a huge improvement for the audience experience as well as potentially boosting discoverability and growth for podcasters.
It helps to:
✅Build a stronger sense of community and gather valuable feedback.
✅Create more engagement which often means higher visibility on the platform, as the algorithms tend to favor content that sparks interaction.
Several podcasters shared their thoughts on my podcast this morning, on additional features they’d like to see in podcast apps:
💡Jonathan Howard suggested a feature to skip to the next speaker, similar to how chapters work on YouTube.
💡Jason Cercone proposed the ability for a listener to pull clips from episodes to share relatable content with their personal and professional networks.
💡Ashley Feller said she’d love a ‘reactions’ feature for podcast players, similar to the ones on social audio apps like LinkedIn Audio or Clubhouse, allowing listeners to express their emotions during listening.
What features do you think podcast apps need to incorporate to improve user experience and discoverability? Let’s discuss in the comments!
