Episode 111: The University of Idaho Killings. With heavy hearts we tell two separate, exceedingly dark stories - one from Reservation land in the the state of Washington and the other from Moscow, Idaho. One of the most haunting aspects of this discussion is the disparity in coverage in True Crime cases, yes, even in the Pacific Northwest. Anyone trying to avoid the constant barrage of updates in the the University of Idaho murder case out of Moscow, Idaho, or any other case of a similar, high-profile nature has their work thoroughly cut out for them.
The killing of 18-year-old Tawnya LaVonne Tom, of the Hoh Tribe in Washington state, has received very little coverage even when it comes to local, Pacific Northwest media outlets, particularly compared to the shocking murders of the University of Idaho college students in Moscow, Idaho that have been covered for months already on an international scale. Many have come to know of, and refer to those young college students as the Idaho Four. It's frustrating that for some cases you almost can't help but hear all about the details, while others seemingly languish, sadly often times unsolved. It’s a stark contrast between the two cases we bring to the table but they’re both listener suggested topics, and absolutely worthy of a kind and caring ear. Thankfully Tawnya's case has resolution even if it's one that brings about very little peace for those that knew and loved her. Sadly, that's likely to be another chilling commonality with the University of Idaho killings, leaving the family members and friends still grieving in the face of such a senseless and horrific loss long after the resolution of a court case.
