Recently, I had the privilege of being a guest on yet another fabulous podcast, the 90's Noise Podcast! The show is hosted by friends Ashley and Aprill. Born in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the hosts are quite partial to the 1990s as you can probably expect so of course we are all like-minded people. I asked the ladies how they met and it was actually at a concert a few years ago. Somehow the two of them crossed paths during this concert and have been close friends ever since! Last fall they decided to embark on the journey that is podcasting and they've been doing a heck of a job since the show's inception!
They were not only kind enough to invite me to be on their show, but they also agreed to be on mine and they let me pick the episodes of some favorite shows to take a look at across both shows. So, we took a look at 2 episodes of Will and Grace on their show:
Fagmalion Part 1: Gay it Forward - IMBD Info
Last Ex to Brooklyn - IMBD info
As well as an episode of Sex and the City - IMBD info
Being the elderly (ha!) member of the group, it was nice to share some TV episodes with Aprill and Ashley that they didn't necessarily grow up watching or maybe didn't remember watching. My sister and I were huge fans of Sex and the City when it was on (we both had all of the VHS tape collections and later DVD collections). I watched Will & Grace pretty religiously when it was on. I have also been the proud owner of all seasons of Will & Grace on DVD for many years and now that it's available to watch on Amazon Prime, I have been able to watch countless episodes of one of my favorite shows of all time. You know you're a big fan of both Sex and the City and Will & Grace when you can throw in a quote from either of these shows at a moment's notice. But I digress.
I really enjoyed being on their show for several reasons. First, I love that they just randomly met at this concert (a pop group named Aly and AJ) and developed this friendship and how it has evolved. I also love that they have a different perspective on what we discussed which in part could be because of our ages (but likely other factors, too, but I liked the different experiences we've had because of our age differences) I think it added a lot of interesting discussions instead of just - "I loved that show!" "Yeah, I did, too!" And scene. A big part of the reason why they love podcasting together is that it helps them stay connected as friends. Their motivation is to celebrate their friendship and share their love of the 90s with other people, how cool is that? One of them commented while we were recording that when they go a bit in between shows, they feel off and miss talking with each other about 90's nostalgia.
I guess what I am trying to say is that Aprill and Ashley are sincere in what they are doing and their show is definitely worth a listen! You can find the episode where I am a guest on their show here. You can find more information about their show here.
You can find the episode where they were guests on my show here.
Thanks again to Aprill and Ashley for inviting me to their show and for being on mine! I can't wait to see where your podcasting journey leads you!
