People ask me why I wrote a solar dragon story. Three reasons:
First, like many stories, it's a metaphor. In this case, it's about our energy transition and the mistakes we made, and the challenges ahead.
Second, dragons seem to be a popular story genre these days, and solar needs to be in pop culture if we're going to make it truly mainstream. Nothing bugs the crap out of me more when I hear people say that "Solar is the future." No. Solar is here now on 4 million installations in the U.S. alone. See? It's even in this dragon story.
Third, why not? If there's one thing that I'm trying to show in the 20 episodes of my podcast, it's that solar can be a part of any genre. I've so far written an ongoing solar heist story, a haunted solar house story, a superhero story, and a whodunnit murder mystery story.
With four million installations, solar stories are everywhere, but they're mostly boring. The Probably True Solar Stories podcast fixes that.
