In this episode, we speak with Bradford Cole, Executive Director of K9 First Responders, Inc. about Connecting in Crisis: Lessons from the halls of Sandy Hook to the halls of Congress.
This video aims to raise awareness of the incredible work performed by K9 First Responders. K9 First Responders provides K9 teams trained to assist victims of disaster, catastrophe, crisis or violence, and serve communities and individuals as well as Police, Fire, EMS and other Public Safety personnel. K9 First Responders has deployed to the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, United States Capitol incidents, Pittsburgh, PA synagogue shooting, Boston Marathon bombings, Las Vegas concert massacre, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting as well as peer support for public safety agencies.
We learn what K9 First Responders does that makes it unique, how Brad’s dogs are different from public safety comfort dogs, and how in the aftermath of a tragic incident, the dogs can shift people in ways that humans aren’t able to. As a powerful tool in the wake of critical incidents, K9 First Responder dogs help people physiologically and behaviorally.
