What the #%@! Is Happening to Your Leads? The Ugly Truth Revealed

 

Hey there, my fellow Sizzlers.

 

Buckle up, because today, we're diving deep into a topic that's more frustrating than a slow Wi-Fi connection: leads that just ain't making it to you and your sales team. 🚀

 

We've all been there, right?

You've got a killer marketing strategy,

a website that could make angels weep,

and a sales team ready to close deals.

 

But, somehow, your leads seem to be playing hide-and-seek instead of waltzing straight into your salespeople's inboxes. What the %@&$ is going on?

 

Let's cut through the B.S. and uncover why your leads are dodging your sales team like a cat avoids water.

 

A big culprit is misaligned messaging.

 

Imagine you're at a party, and someone starts a conversation about quantum physics while the rest of the crowd is talking about last night's football game.

 

Yeah, that's what's happening when your marketing messages don't align with what you the salesperson is pitching.

 

If your marketing is confusing, your leads are going to bounce faster than a kangaroo on a trampoline.

 

And that’s what is happening—leads are coming to your website to find out and buy your services and the website is repelling them like a forcefield.

 

Take a look at your website—in 99% of the time it will be painful.  Simply ask yourself this question—is it easy to find what you want and buy it, or at least schedule a call or conversation to spec out your project?

 

Now go to the site where you buy most of your stuff—Amazon!!!  It has a search bar---you type what you are interested in and voila!

 

There it is.  In color.  With recommendations and reviews.

 

And if you get distracted and leave the sit because someone interrupted you or a squirrel ran past, it will send you emails reminding you of what you were interested in!!!!

 

A Rivkin study uncovered a whopping 96% of your website visitors won't purchase from you for three whole months. They're not ready to commit just yet; they're out there on a quest for information, price comparisons, and the inside scoop on your products

 

A few brave souls might even hunt down your "Contact Us" button – if they can find it, that is.

 

But here's the kicker: if you hit them with a boring old form, they'll ghost you faster than you can say "carpet tile." Nobody fills out forms anymore; it's like asking for a handwritten letter in the age of emojis.

Or they try to dig up your phone number (remember those ancient days when we used to speak to each other?).

And guess what? A depressing 62% of calls to small/medium-sized businesses go unanswered. Boom! Opportunity lost.

 

Fast forward three months, and guess who's forgotten about you? Yep, those elusive prospects who didn't leave their contact details. They've purchased their product but you're still stuck in the digital dark, waiting for interested leads and it's like you were never even on their radar.

 

Sad, right?

 

So, what's the solution?

 

Well, I’m going to get radical and say sales and marketing need to collaborate.  Shock horror!

 

If you don’t have a marketing department, team or even an internet savvy intern Sales sizzlers step up and take control of their destiny.  They help engineer lead flow and lead nurturing.

 

You have to go from meeting takers to meeting makers!

 

Don’t fret.  Here are some easy steps to put in place.

 

Let’s start with some simple sales logic.  The number of bids you win is directly proportional to the number of offers or proposal you make.

 

To double your sales you need double the number of sales conversations with qualified leads where you make them an offer. Here’s a 5-step formula:

 

  1. Hook with an interesting message
  2. Respond with pace
  3. Follow up like a bloodhound
  4. Make a compelling offer
  5. Close
  6. We’ve already established your website is a liability not an asset for salepeople. So you need a magnet to attract those leads.

 

You have two options— outreach via cold email or a landing page you drive traffic to.

A landing page hooks prospects with an enticing message—and it only has one call to action.

  • Schedule a conversation
  • Download a brochure

 

If you have a busy website put that button at the top—pull the prospect into a landing page and capture their info!

 

Now you have a lead but wait, you need to follow up

 

  1. Make sure they get what the clicked for. If it’s a call get to them in minutes not days!

Don’t treat it like a hot potato and drop it like it's burning your hands

 

Leads need follow-up like a fish needs water. If you aren't diligent about reaching out promptly and consistently, those leads will slip through the cracks faster than a greased-up pig at a county fair.

 

  1. We know most leads aren’t going to buy straightaway so keep them engaged with follow up

 

Picture this: you go on a first date, have a blast, and then never hear from the person again. Ouch, right? Well, that's what happens when you don't nurture your leads. They need some love and attention before they're ready to commit. Sending them a few relevant emails or engaging content can be the difference between "meh" and "let's do this!"

 

Now here’s the thing—all of the above steps can and should be automated. If your CRM, email automation, or other tech tools are glitchy or not integrated properly, it can lead to lost leads. Make sure your tech stack is as solid as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's biceps.

 

This is not rocket science.  If these elements aren’t in place you will face the same fate as the dinosaurs.  Yes you may be bad ass but event T-Rex bit the dust.  Without tech you are toast.

 

  1. This is your bread and butter—make an offer.
