An eastern Kentucky pastor was arrested last weekend, accused of being a part of the state's biggest pill-trafficking organization. Scott Gilliam is the pastor at the Holiness Tabernacle Church in Olive Hill. Police say Gilliam was using the church as a stash house, and they found almost $70,000 dollars worth of prescription pills there. The police say the pastor hid the drugs inside the wall of a room that looked like a playroom for children.
He was arrested last week, along with Brian Logan and charged with a conspiracy to distribute oxycodone. One officer explained that Gilliam was running a multimillion dollar trafficking organziation as there were "tens of thousands of pills that with a street value of $40 to $45 each."
Federal, state and local authorities were all part of the operation that put Scott Gilliam and Brandon Logan in the Carter County Jail on Friday.
