I'm honored when I have the opportunity to work with professionals in business and higher education, like you. My goal is to empower professionals to create their ultimate career.
Based on questions and feedback from my coachees, I created this short 5-part podcast series titled "Create your Leadership Playbook." Whether you're a seasoned leader refining your approach or just stepping into your career, this short series is designed to provide you with actionable insights and strategies. I hope this information helps you generate ideas for your leadership journey.
Your Playbook
I chose the term 'playbook' intentionally. In sports, a playbook breaks down what's needed to win the game. In your career and life, we pivot and chart a new path, creating a unique playbook tailored to goals and ambitions. Your playbook is your roadmap.
My own playbook includes four basic steps:
1. Discover your strengths,
2. Understand the science of change,
3. Practice compassion, and
4. Take action.
Professional Development is Personal
It's important to understand that professional development is personal. As a glass-half-full type of person, I see possibilities and encourage others to create a path forward.
I challenge you to start where you are. A wise counselor once told me, 'there's no timeline on potential."
Here's a breakdown of each episode:
Part 1 - Getting Started. I lay out the foundation for your Leadership Playbook, focusing on mindset, self-awareness and an understanding your leadership style. I challenge you to think about your 'why.' Dream big and explore possibilities. Consider your career, especially if your company is undergoing transitions or if your family dynamic is changing.
Consider your 'how' by forming a personal advisory board – individuals in your corner, offering valuable advice. Approach this exercise positively, recognizing small steps toward your future.
Your life is the canvas, and you're the artist.
Part 2 - Discover Your Strengths. In this episode we'll explore how to identify and leverage your strengths and natural talents. You can learn more about leadership strengths assessments from the High5test or Gallup CliftonStrengths
Part 3 - Understand the Science of Change. In this segment, you'll learn about Fogg Behavior design and how to create Tiny Habit recipes to build successful habits for your professional and personal life.
Part 4 - Practice Compassion. In this episode, I'll talk about the importance of empathy and compassion for yourself and others. Compassion can help enhance team dynamics and foster collaboration.
Part 5 - Take Action: In this short episode, I try and bring it all together so you can implement the lessons learned into your daily leadership practice.
