“And we’re off to the races!” Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman said to announce the commencement of filming on Star Trek: Section 31.
Filming on the movie has begun in Toronto. It will continue the story of Phillipa Georgiou, former Emperor of the Terran Empire and the Mirror Universe counterpart of Michael Burnham’s mentor. Georgiou was last scene in the Star Trek: Discovery episode “Terra Firma, Part 2,” where the Guardian of Forever sent her back to an unknown point in time.
Michelle Yeoh, who has won an Academy Award® for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once since her last turn as Georgiou, is returning in the lead role. The filming announcement has brought with it the announcement of the rest of the cast. At this time, it is unknown who anyone will be portraying.
