After you read Daniel Shapiro's book - The 5 Practices of the Caring Mentor you will want to develop your own mentor program for either staff or students. Easy to read. Easy to understand and use. Daniel outlines what he sees as 5 practices that every successful mentor program should include. He explains what caring mentors are and why we need them. He then shares additional thoughts about having a caring mentorship program like Caring for Mentees in Times of Crisis and Self-care for Mentors. One of my favorites is Chapter 6 - Overcoming Barriers to Care in the Mentoring Relationship. Worth your time. Enjoy! (By the way, I received no remuneration for this review.)
