Note: this transcript was done by Word, so it’s probably not very accurate.

Amy

Hi Ghosty Fam, Amy here. Welcome to The Activity Continues a podcast where three soul friends talk about all things paranormal, ghosts, hauntings, psychics, movies and TV shows. Especially the dead files and other spooky and spooky adjacent things. We also like to interview people. In the paranormal community as well as past dead files, clients and other interesting people, sometimes we even tell your stories. I hope you enjoy the show.

Well, welcome Diane.

Megan

Yes, welcome.

Diane

Thank you. Thanks for having me.

Amy

Yeah. Diane is the client from the death House episode Devil's Triangle. And that's the one that took place in the tattoo parlor in Pittsburgh. Yep. So she's got some updates for us going to let us know how her life. And since then a little bit and the activity is still there and yada yada yada so. That's what we're here for.

Megan

And then we'll just kind of see where the conversation flows as we always do.

AP

Yeah.

Amy

Yeah.

AP

So far, it's been dogs. This is the dog episode. Yes, one of many. Yeah, yeah.

Megan

Yeah. One day we'll interview somebody who really loves cats, OK, and then we'll be equal.

Amy

Yeah, that's OK we can Do that..

AP

Yes. OK, Megan, we're equal opportunists here.

Megan

I know we are.

Amy

I love cats, too, I just don't happen to. Have any right now.

Megan

 they're the best.

Diane

I have a cat I. Have a cat too.

Megan

I know you do. How does the cat like the dog?

Diane

Uhm, he he's actually so he's like a street cat that I adopted that like he's he's uh, he's kind of messed up like his eyes all messed up and his ears like. Clipped and stuff.

Megan

Oh buddy!

Diane

So. I know he, but now he is a super fat house cat and I I was worried that he would like hide with the puppy and he's not. He's holding his ground.

So he's like, firmly, firmly planted. Yeah, he's good, yes.

Megan

Good for him. Job buddy.

AP

Was it ear clipped from when…Cause I know that they did that for a long time and they still do with. Cats that are caught and then.

Diane

Yeah.

AP

The notch so that they know that they're spayed or neutered. I believe so. Yeah. No, it it it's much better. It's. Yeah. It's. Yeah. Or if people have barn cats or.

Diane

So they don't. Have to catch them again, let's.

Megan

That hurt the baby ears.

Amy

I'm sure they. Do it while they're under getting there. Getting there.

AP

Very tip of yes. When they're going to spayed or neutered both Kelly's my sister has two cats that are indoor outdoor mousers and they failed in home adoption and they will be in but one of them spends the majority of the winter indoors cuz Kimora Gigi she.

Megan

  1. Thank you. OK.

AP

Does not like to be cold and she she. You whistle. She's. Comes to you and she loves to retrieve socks and she runs down the stairs. And goes back.

Megan

Ohh yes, Yep.

AP

With her socks.

Diane

I love the tweets like Petey hasn't done that a lot. He'll do. Everyone's not. There's like a rabbit outside, but I love them. Those tweets.

Megan

We call them the jabber jaws, the jabber jaws.

Amy

Yeah, like cackling. Nothing. Yeah, like the hell.

Megan

Yeah, that's exactly what it sounds like too. Yep.

Amy

Well, so uh, you had alluded in in the message to me. Yeah, I'm Amy by The way.

Diane

Nice to meet you and I,

AP

and I'm AP.

Megan

I'm Megan.

Amy

It is also Amy, but she's she's “AP” just to not be confused with me. It was your first. That's why I get to be. Is my name.

AP

She's older too. It's fine.

Megan

She runs the show, so she gets to pick her name. She wanted to be called Queen Amy for a bit, but we kind of Drew the line at that.

Amy

I know I can't  get my way. Every time. No, that wouldn't be fair. But you alluded to that things are different for you since the airing of the show. Yeah, yeah. Insane.

Diane

The show after the show premiered my life fell apart, and I it's only me. Yeah, I mean, it was like.

Megan

No.

Diane

It's. You know when you like drawing tarot cards and you get the tower? Yeah, it was like the IT was the tower, but. It was just. Like it was in in pretty quick succession. My marriage fell apart and and decided that she wanted to leave. The tattoo shop. Like no real explanation, she I don't know exactly what happened, but she was just like, I don't want to. I don't want to own a business anymore. And then my dad died, and then I left, and then I left my husband. So.

It was just like a quick slide to like, what is this? Yeah. Yeah. So it's just.

Megan

Yeah. Sorry about your dad.

Diane

Thinks, yeah, it's been like it was just a lot all at once. Oh. I was like what this all happened right after the dead files premiered, is it? I'm sure it's not, but right. But like everything was like, yeah, it's it was. It's crazy because it just, you know, I called the OR I emailed the show they say call. But I didn't. No one calls.

Megan

It's just that it's hard not to make that correlation.

Diane

Putting on the phone. Yeah, like, oh, my God there. I mean, I was scared in the shop and I emailed, you know, because I love the dead files. And I wasn't comfortable in my own business. So it was.

Megan

1995 What is this?

Diane

Was, you know, half of the shop was excited, the other half was like what? So it was a little bit of a struggle. To like. Get everybody on board, which everybody wasn't. Not everybody was in the.

AP

Show but well and and I'm sure because you also had to be closed for a couple of days. While they.

Diane

Did. Yeah, it was a lot. I've never been involved in a filming in a TV filming. Before it was. A lot like it was a lot of producers. And and. Just the whole show. I think there was like maybe 20 people. In there and like we have a decent size shop, it's like 3000 square feet. Plus some, but it's in separate rooms, you know? So like everybody was jammed in there and there's, like, garbage bags on the wall because you're it's like hiding it up. So it was, it was a. It was an adventure.

Megan

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

AP

For sure.

Amy

Wow.

AP

Yeah. And what year was it filmed again? I'm just it was poorly.

Amy

So it.

Diane

Premiered 2019 in September, we filmed it in March, I think. OK. We filmed it. That same year.

AP

Oh, and then of course, on top of everything else that you mentioned. And. Kind of falling apart, we end up in a. Pandemic. I know, right? So I.

Amy

Yeah.

Diane

Was stuck. Yeah, all that stuff happened. And then the universe is like you have to stay inside now. Yeah. Yeah, that is.

Megan

We were just talking about how like 2019 is five years ago, but 2020 is like 300 years ago like.

Diane

Yeah. Yeah, it's it's, it's crazy. It feels like.

Megan

Is.

Diane

It's so long.

AP

Ago and I'm pretty sure 2008 was still like last year.

Amy

Yeah.

Megan

In 1990 was 10 years ago. Don't tell me anything.

Diane

I think when people born that this late, uh, it's the it's it makes me sick every time. I'm like well, you are 21 or you are 18, they'll be 34. If they were born in 1990.

Megan

Which should be. Illegal. That's illegal. Tell your brother he's illegal. Illegal.

AP

Which is honey. That's my brother's. Age. I mean. Sure, he won't care.

Megan

No, he won't care. It's wrong.

Diane

Look here.

Amy

So do you have any like behind the scenes sort of stories about Steve or Amy or?

Diane

Crew or any?

AP

Any records you want to set straight.

Amy

Yeah. Like what did? Did they get anything wrong?

Diane

There weren't. I don't think they got anything wrong. I did. I don't. For some reason it it's strange. After you film a go show, people think that you're making it up, which I always have to say like that. I like I asked for reason like I was scared. What? The story that I told like that we told were true and it wasn't that, you know.

AP

Of course.

Diane

I don't know. Everybody just doesn't believe you, I guess, yeah. The producers were everyone was very nice. Steve was Steve. Were he a good interviewer? He, I mean, he he kind of. I think maybe because I'm more of a passive person, someone that's more like that's the tone helps for me. But I didn't. He does. He does ask leading questions sometimes and it wasn't. That I was. Was cognizant of it really. It was just like I'm not. I I want to tell my story and not. I'm not trying to fabricate anything, so I feel like the leading is like leading is like pulling a thread on on like Oh well, I guess maybe something else.

AP

No, I I remember you.

Megan

Happened and it can discredit your story too, because they're like well.

AP

But I remember you in in that we we made a few comments like I remember being like she didn't. Follow his lead. Like you you vote strong to what you had to say, and that doesn't always happen. Especially like if you say you're you sometimes are more passive, but you're like he tried to lead you down something and you're like.

Amy

Yeah. Yes. Yeah. No.

AP

No.

Megan

Yeah.

AP

Or oh, what was it? It was. Uh. Did you feel like you were being mugged? And I know eight. Like the three of us were sitting here going. Who can relate to that, right? Yeah, I mean.

Amy

Yeah. And you?

Diane

Yeah. Yeah. I guess in retrospect, I don't though. I thought something was chasing me, I don't know.

Megan

It was just such a weird question to ask. We've commented multiple times how we hate how he asks those leading questions like you were a homicide detective. You should know better than to ask leading questions.

Diane

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I am a couple of the people were like I told them my story and they. Like any like anything else kind of like, you know, like was I supposed to, like, make something up? And I was like, no, like, no, but that's probably not uncommon that that happens so.

Amy

Right.

Speaker

Oh.

Megan

Once it can discredit you if they're like asking leading questions, people can be like well.

Speaker

Yeah.

Megan

He only answered that because he led her into it.

Speaker

Mm-hmm.

Diane

Yeah. And I don't. I feel like that's kind of a lie. And I feel like lying is too much to keep. Track of so yeah.

Megan

Exactly. Yeah. And when that was happening as much as it was at yours, then you don't need to lie. Why would? You need to lie.

Diane

No, no. And I feel like, I mean, I honestly every tattoo shop is haunted. But like it. Yeah, honestly, it's, I mean, like the shop ghost, like everybody really.

Megan

Ohh I did not know that.

Diane

Yeah, I think it's just. Yeah, it's just honestly what I think it is is a result of. There's a lot of energy exchange when people getting tattooed because it's high.

Speaker

MM.

Diane

Stress or high like you know, it's a lot of times it's therapeutic or.

Speaker

Yes.

Diane

I think sometimes there's an imprint of energy that happens in whether, you know, wandering things are drawn to it or what happens, I don't know. But we do it cleanse pretty often. Just just because it gets weird. It just you get a weird vibe sometimes and you're like oh.

Megan

OK, sure. Nice.

AP

Yeah.

Diane

So I think it's pretty it's.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

I think that's why it's common and we all like creepy old stuff. So we're like, oh, that building looks haunted. Let's let's. Fair enough. Yeah.

AP

You're in a city that is much older than other parts of the country as well, and so some of the buildings and you know have more of a history. You know, we have a few in, you know, we're all Twin Cities Minnesota area.

Amy

Yeah. Yes.

AP

And there's definitely a handful of those buildings that are older and have some of those ties or we have. There was a lot of the gangsters in the 1920s and 30s that came through this area. There's tunnels that they ran things.

Diane

Yeah.

AP

Yeah, we have. We have tunnels, too. It's horrifying. Yeah, there's Nicolette island tunnels. Like, there's all these things that were used for bootlegging. And yeah, obviously, there's all sorts of stuff that ties up in there, but it's just a matter of sometimes it's, you know, the energy that, as you're mentioning, is coming out of people.

Speaker

I don't want to know.

AP

Whatever it might be for some, it's. Their getting rid of their own demon in a way. Yeah, and.

Megan

Mm-hmm. Like you said, therapeutic cleansing. You know?

AP

Mm-hmm.

Diane

The other thing that I wanted to mention, it's called the Devil's Triangle. But so downtown Pittsburgh it is. If you look at a map, it's essentially sorted by Three Rivers, and downtown is called the Golden Triangle. Yeah. So like when they called it the devil's triangle, it was. I think that's probably more of.

Megan

OK.

Amy

Ohh OK.

Diane

That's where it came from because it not that there's three demons or anything like that, yeah.

AP

That it's it's the gold, it's it's referred to as the gold Golden Triangle. It was, Amy said. And when she opened in her walk, she called it the Devil's Triangle. Yeah. Yeah.

Amy

Yeah. Didn't she say she was hearing that? Yeah. Didn't she say I'm getting double s? Like somebody was saying that to her?

AP

Triangle.

Diane

Mm-hmm.

AP

Yeah. So it's triangle is pretty. But yeah, even if they're local demons, they probably know what we call it. Yeah. Well, and then also Speaking of three waterways, that's a lot of energy.

Diane

Yeah.

Megan

Yeah. Yep. Yes. Yep.

AP

Maintain that I'm sure that. The stone of the building, since it is an 1800s builds is going to have some limestone or other aspects in it that is going to hold record as what we've heard over the years is those things hold energy, right? Right. Yeah, it's definitely.

Diane

3rd. We do.

AP

Did.

Diane

The filming was great. Honestly, I it was it went pretty smoothly. Steve. I was good. Amy was, Amy was super sweet. They but the producers, like, really geek kept her and made her sound very like. Ohh you're not allowed to talk to her. Don't ask for like it was just so weird. It was a strange vibe because it was like. What? Like I don't know. Yeah, but once once we met, she was completely sweet. Normal. Nice. Like I don't. I maybe some people get crazy, I don't know. But they did. They definitely gay kept her pretty hard.

Megan

Though.

Amy

I wonder how much of that was just not wanting her to. Are not wanting you as the client or whoever the client would be to say anything to her that could lead her?

Speaker

Oh yeah.

Amy

She would say in the reveal or something. Like we don't want any like, just like how they have to cover up things so that she doesn't see things on the walls and stuff like that. I wonder if it's partly that cause. I don't see her as, like, a diva. Like, tell them not to.

Diane

Yeah. Yeah, maybe. No. Look, she wasn't. She wasn't at all. It was the, but the the way that they built her up, I was like.

Amy

Me in the eye. Yeah, yeah.

Megan

Hmm.

Diane

Like terrible. Like. Yeah, no, I love Amy. Yeah. And then I was like, ohh, everything's fine. Like, once I met her, I was like, OK, she's here.

Megan

Correct.

Speaker

That she was.

Diane

Yeah.

AP

That that may play into part of again the reason why she left the show like we've we've seen when those changes started happening. And I know Diane you said that after your episode aired, you haven't really watched it since and there's there is a definite.

Megan

Yeah.

Speaker

Hmm.

AP

Change in demeanor and the way that the interactions happen. Really.

Megan

Very much. Ohh yeah it it got. Bad at the end before she.

Amy

Left during the COVID times.

Diane

Oh, really? Now maybe I should go. What should I?

Megan

You definitely you should. You should, because you can tell the tension between them is palpable, yeah.

Diane

It's. Interesting, which is sad.

Megan

Because when when you first start watching the earlier episode? They're very they work together and they're very like, this is my partner Steve. And you know Steve is. During the reveals, he's always like, so blown away by what she knows and you can see it in his face. And then.

Diane

Yeah.

Megan

It just it. I don't know what happened, but it did. Not. It wasn't good, and the way that they when she left the show the way.

Amy

Yeah.

Megan

That they portrayed it, we were all so offended and so upset for Amy because they handled it like they made it out to be. Like Steve got a phone call sitting in his car. I just got a call.

AP

Handled it.

Diane

Why?

AP

On the way to a on the way to a a house to go and investigate.

Megan

A site? Yeah. I just got a call that let me know. Amy's not coming back to the show, and that's all they did.

Amy

Then it's really dumb. It's like, no, Steve, that's what we all know. That's not how. It happened. Yeah. And like.

Megan

She's the reason that you guys have a show, so maybe be a little bit more respectful to like, we were all very upset.

AP

Who replaced her Sacasa?

Megan

Cindy kaza.

Speaker

Who's?

AP

She raped? Yeah. Yep. She was fantastic and.

Amy

They four babies, well, they.

Megan

Episodes. It wasn't a lot of episodes, but.

AP

Yeah, because it was. The first five were with Amy, then the 6th one before they. They took a hiatus to, like, kind of tease. And I think dragged the season out even further. So then the the 6th one came out and that was with Cindy. And then the last. So I think there were seven.

Speaker

MHM.

Diane

Or.

AP

Episodes that were Cindy, because there was a 12 episodes in 12 or 13 episode season. Something like that. Yeah. The last one we.

Amy

That sounds right.

AP

Covered. And then we can't go back to if you want one that you like. Oh, yeah. Like you want to look at what you're like. How did, how did this person get through to have? And it wasn't the last episode, but there was a couple episodes in there.

Diane

Oh no.

Megan

The Britney.

AP

That were like. How did this one make it through the thousands? We know that they have.

Megan

And I would arguably say our best episode is one that.

AP

Was because it was the three of us together.

Megan

We forgot. Yeah, and we forgot to record it or something happened.

Amy

Ohh yeah, it didn't record right. It only recorded the zoom. We weren't doing zoom cause.

AP

We were sitting in the wrong person. I mean, it was your dad. Your dad made sure that we didn't put that out there.

Amy

No, we weren't together, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We think the ghost of my dad is messing with. Our text sometimes.

Diane

Ohh yes.

Megan

We were drinking. We were there was champagne. We had a few. Champagne cocktails and it was hilarious.

Amy

It recorded, but it didn't record correctly and so the sound is really ****** and so we ended up not releasing it at all. But we also didn't release it because we raked that client over the calls. It was we had.

Speaker

MHM.

Megan

So we reference. A lot. Nothing good to say about that client. Nothing because.

AP

So she's been onto this show. Basically, it seems like to have her dad promote his book about her possession that he wrote.

Diane

Well.

Amy

Yeah, watch it. And then and then get back to us.

Megan

You should watch it. It's an entertaining episode. Let us know your thoughts.

Diane

Wait, which one? Which episode is this? Which?

Amy

It was the. Very last one. Ohh don't wait. Listen. Ohh, you're right. That was the.

AP

No, it wasn't the last. It wasn't. No, the last, the last one was the Octagon House or whatever, which also was another publicity graph.

Amy

Yeah, that was the Octagon house. Yeah. It was called innocent, something innocent.

AP

Wow, look at all.

Diane

Why would they do this?

Megan

It's terrible. It was terrible.

Amy

I don't know. That's that's when we knew that they probably, but that's when we anyway, we're like they're probably not coming back from.

AP

No, it's kind of like it was phoned. There was a lot of theatrics.

Diane

This yes, yeah.

Amy

They they just phoned in those last couple, not Cindy cases. Cindy was great and it was none of it was her fault. In fact, there is.

Megan

No, she's great. No.

Amy

Suggestion that. That Amy recommended Cindy.

AP

Isolated, it was the 2nd. Last second, the last one.

Amy

Isolated. OK, so you should watch it. You should watch.

Megan

It because it is entertaining.

Diane

It is entertaining, it's just not yours. My best friend. We always have. We call, we call them Sad girl Sundays, but we always watch movie shows. It's just not. It's not really sad, girl, but it's just like we get we, like, hang out and eat snacks and watch trash TV. So that sounds like a good. Yeah. Yes.

Amy

Ohh, nice, nice.

Megan

Yeah.

Amy

That. Amazing person.

Megan

That would be a good one to watch.

AP

You watch spooky shows, have you? Watched all of. Like the Mike Flanagan shows from Netflix. Like hunting and blind manner, and hill house and Midnight Club.

Diane

Yes, you know what I really. Yes. So I really like the Hill House, but I think that's because Shirley. Jackson, because the writing was just. Like, that's like so good. But then I blind manner was OK. I didn't love, loved blind manner though.

Amy

Yeah.

AP

Like it? As he realizes the Gothic romance and I'm umm.

Amy

Read it, yeah.

AP

Oh, if you go back.

Diane

I think it was. Still too sour and I was like ohh romance.

Megan

Like, yeah, if you go in love, you suck.

AP

I recommend rewatching it because if you watch the background you see a lot of stuff happening that you don't catch the first time around. Where?

Amy

Yeah. That's in all of it. I think though, yeah.

AP

Hill House that has like more of like in your face stuff. Blind manner is very like creepy in.

Diane

Yeah.

AP

The shadows, but it's.

Diane

Background interesting.

AP

Like if you think about one of the. Sure, hooks. That's in there. One of the things you go back and rewatch it, you see it happen and you're like, oh, I didn't catch that.

Diane

Oh.

Amy

I liked blind men are much more the second time I watched it. I I was like you. I was like it was fine. But it wasn't as good. But then ain't checking about it. And I'm like, OK, I'll watch it again. And so we watched my husband and I watched the whole season.

AP

Yes. I convinced her to rewatch.

Amy

Again, and I was like, OK, yeah, I am appreciating this a lot.

AP

More now I think because people were expecting Hill House season two base. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Totally different. Impossible. Yeah. And midnight mass was fantastic. Agreed. I really liked his. It.

Amy

And that mass was.

Diane

What was this the shining? Sequel, what was it called?

AP

I forget it's doctors, doctors.

Diane

Doctor Lee, yeah. I really like Doctor sleep too.

Amy

Oh, I don't think I saw that.

Diane

He directed it, and you can tell like I really like it. I like his style.

Amy

  1. He's just, yeah.

AP

He's got the next the next Exorcist movie.

Diane

Ohh, that's very exciting.

Amy

Oh yeah.

AP

Can you tell, Megan? This is her favorite topic.

Megan

Yes. Hate it should just be over in the corner. Watching shark stuff. Yeah, and Disney. My husband watches horror movies all. Time and I'm like, can you watch something that I can watch with you? Because I don't want to be scared. Yeah. And he watches the worst kind of horror movies, like the possession, horror movies, and. And I'm like, I don't want to watch that because it can happen, and I don't want to invite that into my life.

Diane

Why not? Ohh no.

Amy

That's so scary to me, too.

Diane

Yeah, I don't, I don't. I'm not allowed to watch those after dark. I miss set rules. Yeah, so?

Megan

That's fair. That's fair. I I thought you put that for yourself. Like, I don't allow myself.

Diane

Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like because.

Megan

Start to.

Diane

Like like let's yeah.

AP

Yeah, just have Shitz Creek on as your second.

Speaker

Yeah.

AP

Dairy.

Megan

I do like Schitts Creek.

AP

But yeah, Schitts Creek is a great winter. Yes, yeah, yeah, that is good. No, she only says that once in the entire.

Megan

You, David, you.

Amy

Show. Really. Really.

AP

Yeah, I saw her on an interview. I don't know if it was Fallon or something, but she's like, yeah, somebody emailed us and said that I only say it once. It's like you and did several times, but she only says David once. Really.

Diane

Wow.

AP

I like saying best wishes to people.

Diane

I love that show.

Megan

It's it's a good one.

Amy

OK, so back to the dead files. Yeah. Sorry. So, yeah. Yeah. We have talked to some other clients who have said like.

Megan

Yes.

AP

Side track.

Amy

When they watched the show, they were ****** because they were like that is not what I said. That is not what I meant and they re edited it to make it make me look dumb or anything. Like is there anything like that that.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

There wasn't. They did edit a couple things, but it wasn't anything I want to say they. Made our piercer Rev. They like cut two of his things together, and it was weird, but it wasn't anything too crazy to me. It was definitely the interviews are so long and it's like by the time and you get asked the same questions over and over and it's like, I don't remember what I like after you're done. You're like, what did I say that? I don't even know because it's after doing it.

AP

Yeah.

Speaker

I.

Diane

Was like I give much credit to anyone that has to be on camera for a living, like even newscasters. It's exhausting. Yeah. But I don't. I think they did a pretty decent job with, like patching through the story the.

Speaker

OK.

Diane

The deal with my ex-husband he didn't want. He did not want to be interviewed.

Megan

MHM.

Diane

At all and. And you're right. He he was the jerk. All your. All your observations were pretty astute.

Megan

Yourself.

Amy

I was like. We want her to listen to what we said first before. She decides if she wants to come, like she's probably gonna hate us.

Diane

No, that's OK. No, no. I was like, Dang, where were these girls like, five years ago? Yeah. Yeah. But they the producers leaned on me pretty hard to get him in.

Megan

Ah.

Diane

And he was like, I just don't wanna do it. And I said just. Like I thought I thought. That this would be good. Publicity for the tattoo shop because we.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

Were we opened in 2015 and like this is like a cool thing that, you know would put us on the map.

Megan

Yes, for sure. Yeah.

AP

The opposite.

Diane

Really. Yeah, that's it. We have clients that would cancel because they were afraid of demons.

Amy

Really. But you're like, wait, the demons are fine. They're fine fun.

Speaker

No.

AP

Insane. Megan, it's the same ones that walked out of a Deadpool after three minutes.

Megan

Yes, yes. We were just talking about how Amy had seen the the the latest Deadpool and all on TikTok. I'm seeing people up in arms about how blasphemous it is and they walk out of the movie theater.

Diane

What?

Speaker

Why?

Megan

And I'm like, what? What is it?

Speaker

He calls him.

AP

He calls himself marveled Jesus in it.

Megan

And they all walked, yes. And I wanted to be like, had you not seen any of the other deadpools in the first one, his girlfriend is doing him from behind and that was.

Amy

Yeah.

Diane

Yeah, right. That's fine.

Megan

OK, with you.

Amy

And that's usually how it is that all the sex and the murder and all that is fine. But you don't say not.

Megan

We do need. Take the Lord's name in. Vain.

AP

It's so funny this.

Megan

Talk about cheek, but anyways, that's yeah. Well, that stinks. I'm sorry.

Diane

Sounds, yeah.

AP

No.

Amy

Yeah, that's too bad that it it actually. Lost your clients?

Megan

To me, I think the opposite. I'd be like, let's go get tattooed in the. That's right. I mean, to shop.

AP

We said, hey, should we go travel to Pittsburgh? I know.

Amy

We're all like, we want tattoos again. Let's go.

AP

We looked up. We looked for you, like right away to come and see. Like, what kind of styles? Cause I know, like and I mentioned love, the artwork and stuff. And like, I saw some of your tattoos and.

Speaker

Yeah.

AP

To be you have a very pin uppy vibe which I think is just awesome. Like I think that's just.

Diane

Thanks ma'am.

AP

Not everyone can pull it off. You can. I can't. I can't.

Diane

No, it's it was. A. It was a lot of years of. Looking real awkward, so I'm still in that.

Amy

I chat with your look again.

Megan

Phase, though I can't get out of it. You're fine. My dude. Up. Look, they're like Megan. Looks real awkward today. I'm like again.

Amy

Find it.

Diane

Yeah, he lives around. Yeah, some people, it was like, I honestly don't even. I had someone come in probably a month ago and. We get a. Lot of people traveling because it's we're in downtown Pittsburgh and hang on, my puppy is being my phone cord.

Speaker

Don't let that.

Diane

Ohh no, don't see that anything that's she thinks it's.

Megan

She eat puppy? Yeah. Is she teething? Yes.

Amy

His toy. Everything's a toy if she can. Reach it.

AP

Not flat rawhides. Are ones that we use a lot with, with teething and a fun little tip is if you hold her and hold The Chew toy while she's teething, you're bonding with relieving her pain and so you get a different kind of relationship with them.

Diane

Ohh. Wow, that's great.

AP

So yeah. I use we we get raw hides and actually a lot of family friends end up with previously chewed raw hides from my dogs to start their puppies on because I'll get the raw hide rolls and they're always observed and get them. But.

Diane

Good to know.

AP

They like to chew them down and puppies always go for that over a fresh one. Yeah. Yeah, cause it's.

Diane

Like all, like warn, hang on one second, I have to put this away because you know.

Megan

Sure.

Speaker

Stop.

Amy

I don't know if I could handle that.

Speaker

Oh my God.

Diane

Coffee again, I I don't. I I'm not sure what made me, but man, it's a little you should little.

Amy

Well, she's cute as well. She's cute.

Megan

And there it is. It's her face with all the wrinkles.

AP

Black Dog face because black dogs. Do get ignored and.

Amy

And orange Kitty. I love orange Kitty.

Megan

Eddie. Pablo, what are you doing?

AP

Hey tab tab.

Amy

I had. An older handsome.

AP

Boy, he's like mom. Excuse me. Handler, what are you doing?

Diane

What are you doing to me?

Megan

Ohh, so handsome. No he wouldn't.

Amy

He's allowing it. My orange cat would never allow. Me to hold. Him up like that, he would have punched me in the. Face by now. For sure, he's very chill. That's good.

AP

He's real.

Amy

Crazy, but just yeah.

Megan

Crazy they are.

Diane

I didn't know that either until I got one.

AP

And and orange cats are typically male.

Amy

Yeah, most of the time.

Diane

Yeah. Why is that? That's so.

Amy

Crazy. Although I have a friend who has one, that is. It's a female and we thought for sure that it was male and she got this little baby kitten and we're like, it's probably male cause most of them are, you know, orange ones are. And she brought to the vet.

AP

Coloration.

Amy

And she was like, Nope, it's not.

AP

Yeah, yeah. And calicos are female, but you can have kind of the calico, but with more of a white body. That's gonna typically be male. You're like a cat whisperer. You know all the kitties. My background is science, and I have a lot of random facts. I was brought on as a fact checker.

Diane

Gonna have science and you like.

Megan

I know it's an oxymoron.

AP

I've had enough of my own experiences.

Megan

Yeah, they have calico steaks that are pretty.

Amy

Calico snakes states I like snakes too, and I'm. I.

AP

Heard Salt play song now.

Megan

Like naked ball pythons, they they're very pretty. But I think I've. Found out that my husband is afraid of snakes and so there goes my dream of letting my son have a snake. Ohh.

AP

I thought that meant that you get a snake.

Amy

I was gonna say I thought that meant. You know it's soft spots, so I.

Megan

Think the snakes I actually almost got a snake about 12 years ago. I almost got a Brazilian rainbow boa, but then I moved to the Middle East and that was not. Conducive. Not gonna happen.

AP

So you can just go visit the ones at the center.

Megan

I know I could do they. Let you hold them.

AP

No.

Megan

Well.

AP

You can touch them when they have them out, but.

Megan

Mm-hmm. No. What kind of snakes do they have?

AP

Sorry, this is the wildlife Science Center up in in Minnesota. Here they have. Yeah, they have. It's a.

Megan

Stacy, MN.

AP

Conservation, training, research and Education Center, and they have lots of wolves. That's cool.

Megan

They have wolves. You can watch the wolves eat the.

Diane

Deer. Well, I don't. Yeah.

AP

Yeah, they get. Would kill. Yeah, but they they sure sure tell you how a week you feel when it takes two of you to drag a carcass in and one of them just picks it up and walks away with it. And you're like, OK, thanks, guys. Yeah. The mainly there they have mainly Minnesotan or Upper Midwest snakes, so.

Diane

Ohh.

Speaker

Yeah.

Megan

Yes.

AP

There's hognose corn snake, they have hognose. And corn snakes. And I think the corn snakes, they have ones that one had babies and had, like all of them were different. Colors. Oh my God. Oh no, it's the milk snakes. It was the milk snakes, one of them. But they had, like, an albino one. They had a red one. They had all the different colors, rainbow brewed and a tarantula.

Megan

  1. Even the snakes, our allies. No, thanks. And we're.

Amy

Done conversation over anyway. Yeah. Diane, have you seen? Have you always been like, sensitive to seeing things like before you had the tattoo shop? Did you see stuff when you were little? Do you have any stories like that?

Diane

I actually grew up in a haunted house. What? Yeah.

Megan

And we're just learning about this, that should have.

AP

Been elicited. I think her being on a show was deleted. Megan.

Megan

Well, I mean after.

Speaker

I mean, I don't you know you.

Diane

Don't talk about this stuff to everybody. So, like, you know. But yeah, I, we, my mom and I think it's the guy that built her house in the 20s. My mom always called him Harry. So I'm not, I don't know if that's his name or not, but he had just always been.

Amy

MHM.

Diane

And. He would always do stuff growing up and I we always had like, I would always talk to. Him and I'm. Like I don't, Harry. I don't care if you're here. I just don't ever want to see you. Like, don't ever show yourself to me. But yeah, he would always, like, make things disappear. Or like my mom was a seamstress, so she was always cutting out fabric in the middle of the living room, which was like a big space.

Megan

No. Umm.

Diane

And she would set the scissors down in the middle of the room. And. Turn around and they'd be gone and she would be like ohh am I going like she like? Ohh Harry pulled him back. Yeah. And they would get, they would put him back so. Like it was.

Amy

Ah.

Diane

That kind of it wasn't. He was just like hanging out. It felt. Like so, it wasn't really malicious. No, not malicious at all. But I think I've always been kind of sensitive to it. I've always been into it. I I remember in the in junior. High. I wanted to be a parapsychologist.

Megan

No, no, that's true.

Diane

He would have thought he would have thought in England. Something would be worse than an English major.

Megan

As a fellow English major I.

Diane

Yes.

Megan

Yeah, everyone's Gregory. Ever.

Diane

I I like, I mean I I thought it was good. I I paired mine with traffic design. It's worked.

Megan

Oh, see that you have a useless skill.

Diane

Pretty well for me. I like my well, yeah. Yeah, yeah, but. But yeah, I've always been into paranormal stuff. Open to it and I. Oh my God. Sorry. My dog is the worst.

Speaker

I don't know. I've had.

Diane

Lots of weird experiences. I my sister. I had a sister that passed away and she owned a bar that had that we found out later used to be. I think a **********. Oh. Near a busy it was near an older busy road and. Upstairs in an apartment. And I remember I was sleeping. I stayed over a couple of nights and I would wake up in the middle of the night and it was pitch black. And the only thing in that room was like a big digital like Red clock and. I would wake up and. Like, look at the time. And then I would see something like pass in front of the time. And I would just. To do the like scared kid like. I'm just gonna close my eyes and pretend that I didn't see that.

AP

Yeah.

Diane

So I don't. Know whether you know it's just, I guess if you're open to it, you get lots. Of experiences like that. In the tattoo shop, I didn't. We opened that. I opened it with my husband or my ex-husband, Josh and Shannon. We all opened it together and it wasn't old. Previous to us being in there, it was travelers aid, which is like they help homeless people with like bus tickets and stuff like that. So we tore everything out and and you know.

Megan

MMM.

Diane

Redid it. And everything was OK until we tore through that second floor and that's when the weird. I'm sure it's not the same, but there used to be when the IT used to be apartments and there used to be. This crazy old. Veteran guy least called him a Vietnam vet. I don't know if that was like, if they drained, but he was just insane. He would just scream at people he had. No he was in a wheelchair. I don't think he had legs, but he couldn't. He was upstairs. So like he essentially come down once a month and he never really left the apartment. And then. He passed away. And it's like, I don't know if it was the same ghost, but it sure felt like it. It sure felt like someone was like, what are you doing and what? This is my place and he would just like.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

Chase you out and it just didn't that last time that I went there, I'd never. I'd never been maliciously chased by anything like that. I've definitely had, like, the heebie jeebies or like the. Ohh. I'm getting out of here kind of thing. But I never. Really stuck around long enough to get an experience because why would I? But I was like this is my business like I could be here like I was there on a Sunday. Setting up a desk. Like for me to work at and this I just kept getting this like. Feeling that someone was standing there and just like hating on me and I'm like, this isn't like it just kept making me more more uncomfortable when I would go downstairs and grab something and like. Continue to work until. I was walking to go back downstairs again in a shadow, followed me and I tried not to panic and I kept walking, but I kept seeing the shadow following me. And I was like, that's enough. That's enough. Like, I just got my **** and I set the alarm and and left. And even then like.

Megan

Yeah, yeah.

Diane

Before we called them or called them, and now I'm perpetuating a lot. Make sure we contacted. Them like we would have alarms go off and I remember I'm always downtown early. So like the alarm would go off at like like 7:00 or 8:00. And I would have to walk through. His face by myself. And it was like I was more scared of than of like an intruder, though it was not. It was really stressful to not feel comfortable to walk into your own business and that's. Why I just. Needed to do something about it though.

Megan

Well, plus you spend so much time there. I mean you want to be comfortable at a place that you're going to be most of the day.

Amy

Yeah, I mean.

Megan

Is there?

Diane

He's dumped all your money into something and like you're praying that it works and you're like. And I also don't feel comfortable. Like, get out of here. Yeah.

Megan

Yeah.

Amy

Yeah. And as. Owner, you spend a lot more time there than someone who just works. There, right.

AP

MHM.

Diane

Yeah, I mean not. As much lately, but it the first few years it was just like, you know, you get to, you're just like, I hate this life. Like I'm here all the time. Yeah. But you love it. I mean, it's like your baby. So it's kind of.

AP

Yeah.

Diane

Hold on again, sorry.

Megan

OK.

AP

Please stop please.

Diane

Brace, bracelet, bracelet. Oh, bracelet. She found a bracelet in a plastic thing that she thinks is. I'm sure she's going to destroy something. Else next. Uh. So yeah, the. Experiences and honestly downstairs. I know that Amy said that downstairs there were demons and stuff like that. The downstairs was. It could get uncomfortable downstairs. And there are tunnels that were blocked over tunnels we didn't have access to the building. Next door to us does. Mm-hmm. But I don't know. It was just like a random like sometimes it's the basements fine. Other times it's like no, like I hate it down there. So I don't think, I mean, I cleanse pretty often and I did, we did follow well her instructions we followed as best as we could. I did not get a male medium. I I ended up working with. A woman that clears properties and she. I talked to her first and she's like, well, I can get rid of. I'll tell you what's there, and I'll get rid of anything you don't want there. I can clear out. And I was like, ohh good. Like, so it was. It was essentially like a. One stop shop, right?

Megan

Nice. That's awesome.

Diane

Yeah. So. He's like ripping my shopping bags now.

Amy

I love puppies, know. Ohh.

Speaker

She's.

Megan

She's like, I love you, mom.

Diane

Yeah. She's like, do you know mine, right? So I ended up she ended up clearing the space out for me and she and I can. She does it. She doesn't have to be in. Person to do. It she isn't, she is local. She is in Pittsburgh. I'll periodically have her check my house like couple years ago. I was. It was after I was separated. So it was the first time I'd lived alone.

AP

MHM.

Diane

In. 20 years umm and I was falling asleep and something touched.

Amy

My forehead. Oh my God.

Megan

No, thank you.

Diane

And I and like you know when. You're like half asleep and you're like. Did that happen? And it did. It did. I was like, yeah, that that happened. Yeah.

Amy

Yeah.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

And I contacted her and she said that it was a it was a child spirit that was lost, that was looking. Yeah, that was confused and just trying to like, connect and figure out like, where she belonged or. And. And I was like, that makes sense cause that's like a total kid thing to do. Like, I'm just gonna touch you. There's like.

AP

Yeah. And then. And then sit there and stare at you, yeah.

Diane

So like I.

Megan

Till you wake up.

Diane

I was like. Oh my God, did that just happen?

Speaker

OK.

Diane

And then you. Know you tell yourself. Like, no, no, you you jumped it for sure, for sure, but. The next day.

AP

I was like that.

Diane

Happened. Yeah. So I essentially just e-mail her and I say, listen, can you check my house? Can you check the tattoo shop and she'll do. She'll do a scan of it and and get rid of what's what's bugging us.

Megan

Nice. That's awesome.

Diane

Yeah, she she's been like, a godsend, for sure.

Megan

M.

Diane

Right. Yeah, we we did cleanse. We cleanse. The Amy was really helpful with her instructions to cleanse. And I wish that they would cover that stuff in the shows because they, you know, she she gives, like she's like, here's to do this and like, clean this many times, like a prescription like a doctor's prescription.

Amy

Editor.

Diane

Do you? But she went and bought us. She went to a metaphysical store. She bought me cascarilla or cascarilla. However, you stay at that chalk stuff. She bought us a a couple of things with Sage. She bought us a.

Megan

Oh yeah.

Diane

Mobile, just a bunch of stuff and she was like, you know, make sure that you protect yourself. Like, do this with this. And it was very she was very sweet and very like.

Megan

That's really sweet.

Diane

Wanted to make sure that we, you know, had what we needed and didn't she wasn't just like, here's a list of stuff to buy, she went.

Megan

Yeah, yeah.

Diane

And bought it. So it was just like she was super sweet.

Megan

Which is. Yeah, like she didn't need to do that. She could have just given you the list. And then, like, this is what you need. OK, bye.

Amy

Yeah, yeah.

AP

Which is what we've heard from several people, is that, like, she's been very helpful or like one one group was able to stay in contact with her and get some others like care beyond. But that would seem to be another reason why Amy may have left the show. Allegedly reason.

Diane

Yes.

AP

What was that? The care that she was wanting for people wasn't being. Yeah, wasn't.

Diane

Being yeah, I mean.

AP

Like she, she couldn't help as much as she wanted, and they weren't necessarily providing follow up with.

Amy

The follow up wasn't great.

AP

With the clients.

Megan

She would recommend stuff and then yeah, the producers would just be like, see ya allegedly.

Diane

They were. They were, yeah. Even the follow up. I think they were just like, yeah, just do some films and like, tell us what's going on. I'm like, OK, they didn't really give much direction. They just wanted to follow up. I do feel like I don't. I don't understand why they would do. Why would? What the? What she did and like how tender and like understanding and patient she was with us as she explained this stuff was like, I feel like the best part. Like, it's like someone like. And I feel like I wish that they would have conveyed that. I'm sure it's not, you know, as Hollywood as they would want it to be, but that was. The most you know. This stuff is about connection and and and I felt like Amy probably wanted to connect with more people and they were just like.

Megan

Mm-hmm.

Diane

I don't know. Maybe she didn't, but it just felt like she had a genuine, genuine interest in. Yeah, well-being.

Amy

Yes, yeah, I believe she does.

Megan

And I think that's that's what every person we've talked to has said, you know, that we haven't heard one bad thing about her. And I think that's why she started the show and why she agreed to do it.

Diane

No.

Megan

Was she wanted? She wants to help you and help people. And. Yeah, and such a niche.

Diane

Yeah, I'm sure it became some. Thing.

Megan

All that.

Diane

That she didn't want.

Megan

Yeah, it's it's exhausting for her. I mean, it takes a lot out of her.

Amy

Yeah, a lot of it was good health, but but also she just wasn't being treated respectfully.

Diane

Yeah.

Megan

No, she wasn't. And you can again see that.

Amy

Hello Sir.

Megan

In the later episodes.

Diane

Episode which doesn't make. Sense because it's essentially her show.

Megan

You would think that you would think, right?

Amy

Well, I think someone else thought it was. There, Shaw, so yeah.

Diane

That makes, yeah. I mean, yeah, that doesn't make any sense, but, but yeah, I didn't. I didn't get to me. Aiming till the last. Till the reveal. Reveal reveal. Yeah.

Megan

The review.

AP

Yeah, we've heard that is pretty much the the standard there. Yeah. And then, yeah, those those are fairly long and edited down to what, 15 to 20 minutes.

Megan

Not even like 5-10 minutes. How long would you reveal? Do you remember?

Amy

The most, yeah.

Diane

I'm gonna say it was like we were down there from. Us two hours. OK. We did it in the basement and. It was, but it was. A lot of hurry up and wait kind of stuff it wasn't.

Speaker

Ohh.

Diane

It wasn't a quick thing. It was like it was supposed to start it. I want to say it was supposed to start at like 7, but then it didn't start till later and then it was like just a bunch of waiting around and we did in filming obviously, but it wasn't.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

It wasn't like climactic, I guess. Yeah, like the the, I mean, the sketches are always disgusting.

Amy

Ohh that's what I wanted to ask you when they show the sketch, they just show your face and.

Megan

Do you remember what?

Diane

You said I probably said ohh ****.

Amy

We were trying to guess where, like, you know, she's like **** or she's.

Megan

And that's it. Yeah, you're trying to guess? Yeah.

Amy

Said **** yeah, I probably said ohh ****.

Diane

Just guessing cause I don't remember exactly. Well, I could have said like ohh man like I don't. They want to believe about that. Yeah, you're right. Yeah. I thought so. **** yeah, you. I did listen to the podcast and you guys said there was a lot of swearing. That was probably our fault. We swear.

Amy

How they wouldn't think though. Yeah. Oh, so do we. We. Yeah. No, we were, you know, we were dissing on that. It was. I just thought it was funny that, like, even Amy and Steve Sweared more.

Diane

Notice.

Megan

Yeah, swearing more, they sweared bit more.

Amy

More than usual. Weird. I was like, that's not the right tense of that word, OK?

AP

Yeah, I think. And Megan called and she's like, well, why won't they just not bleep it? Like it's on. It's on Max. Yeah, just as it's on Travel Channel first.

Megan

I know. Yeah, just not ******* bleep it. Well, it's not anymore. So unbleeped the bleeps.

Diane

Yeah. Yeah, right. Yeah, I would say I probably was like.

AP

Oh **** yeah.

Amy

Yeah, yeah, that sketch was creep.

Diane

Yeah, the sketch was always. Just horror, father.

Megan

Yeah.

Amy

Yeah, well not.

Megan

Always. Not always there's.

AP

Somewhere, some, somewhere. Holy interesting that you're like me. What's that? Go to what she said.

Amy

There's. Bad there really is our cartoon.

Megan

Especially when they're like Amy. Is that what you saw? And she's like, yes, that's what I saw. It's like.

AP

That's what you saw. What was that like? The 5th drawing that they had to. Do and. They're just OK we're just.

Megan

And she's like, I just wanna get and she was.

Diane

Going with that, that's it.

Amy

Like I just wanna go home. Fine. That's what I saw.

Megan

Yes. ****. What? I don't know, Dave, just Draw Something.

Diane

Yeah. Yeah, ioffer it when they came in. I was like like. Then, because the sketches were always like my favorite part of the show, cause like your old man, is this gonna be terrible?

Megan

They're so jarring. Yeah. Some of them are so.

Amy

And they're always like in.

Diane

Charcoal like but I said.

Megan

Scary. Yeah. Can you see? Somebody with like an easel set up with like their oil paints and. Like. Bob Rossing, you know that's not an. That's not a mistake. It's a happy accident. Well, Megan, do a ghost.

Speaker

Don't touch. It's not dry yet.

Diane

It was like, no, that's not it.

Amy

Wipe. Start over.

Megan

I quit, yeah.

Diane

I asked them if they needed a good artist and they said no. So I mean, and thankfully they did have one, but I was just like, oh God, we cannot have a terrible artist. Yeah, but.

Megan

Ah.

Speaker

Yeah.

Megan

We actually interviewed a sketch artist from the show.

Diane

Really hard. It was really, that sounds like that's like an inner that's like court reporter, but paranormal style like.

Amy

That's a good one.

Megan

Yeah, I know. Yeah, I know. He was really fun to talk to. It was interesting. Yeah. Yeah. And his his art was really good. Yeah.

AP

Yeah. And if I remember, his was just. Like. Didn't they, like, call him or e-mail him? Kind of out of the blue because they they they look up artists in the area and.

Megan

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. He was this website. Yeah, they.

Amy

Then they just Instagram or something.

AP

Mm-hmm. And so then they contact off of that? Yeah.

Megan

And they were like, do you want to be an artist on the dead files? And he was like, sure.

AP

What's that?

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

Yeah, it it doesn't pay. Sure. Yeah, right. Yeah, that's the other thing. People all thought that I we made money off. That you know. That was like we probably lost money because we had a film like 3 days.

Speaker

Yeah.

Megan

Yeah, yeah, that's tough. So has.

AP

Was there anyone of your artists that was like this will be really interesting or you know somebody that was maybe I know you said not everybody was on board, but were there ones that were a little bit more like yeah let's let's, let's.

Diane

Figure this out. Yeah, I mean, so Shannon. Susie Rev. Were all pumped. Because they, she and Susie were. I mean everyone's they're tattoo artists. Everyone's on the creepy stuff. Shannon and Suzie were more supernatural. Yeah, Todd. Steve.

Megan

Right.

Amy

It's a tough crowd.

Diane

That is a stereotype, but sometimes it is true.

Megan

Yeah, it it was just I. Yeah. But I feel like you really played into it.

Amy

Sometimes, but not all of them.

Megan

Like, come on now.

Diane

He for sure. I think that's just. Like weird male machismo, kind of like, oh, like I'm tough too.

Megan

Yeah, yeah, I'm committed. I got a tattoo. I'm a bettis.

AP

Yeah, I've met too many of those people. Like it must be Rev that you keep talking about. I can kind of.

Amy

Right.

AP

But just like they give kind of that teddy bear aspect, once they you break past that like hard year?

Diane

Yeah. Yeah, right. That's that's the other reason is a lot of like. A lot of. You, I mean, I'm not I'm I guess. You. Could, compared to some people, I'm heavily tattooed, but someone like Rep who's very heavily tattooed you don't you have to be somewhat offensive because people are pretty judgmental.

Amy

Off of that.

Megan

Oh my God I.

AP

Know that's what I was trying to like. Get through. Like he's Steve is putting that bias out there that all these guys are just always hard and tough.

Megan

I have this. Yeah. I tell you what, the amount of times that I get judged for this. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm just being I'm being sarcastic. All I.

Diane

And mean. They're not like. What I'm like what?

Megan

Have is a start of a sleeve.

Amy

Sorry.

Megan

It's the start of a sleeve.

Amy

It's on my leg. I won't show.

AP

You. Yeah, I have another account, my.

Amy

Leg doesn't go up.

Megan

That high? Well, it does, but you might get stuck in. That position, right?

Amy

Be laid back.

Megan

OK, this is a family show, no. Not it's 60. It's not.

Diane

This. Yeah. Well, I mean everybody, everybody at the. Shop. We was is a decent human being. I mean it's it's changed significantly. We went through some rough times after everything happened with me and with COVID. And right now I feel like we have the best crew we've ever had.

AP

Mm-hmm.

Diane

And it's just like.

Megan

That's awesome.

Diane

It's going to be 10 years in January that I opened the place up, yeah.

Megan

Wow.

Diane

It's crazy, it's exciting, but also like I've.

Amy

That's exciting. Yeah. Congratulations.

Diane

Been doing this for 10 years, yeah. It's cool because it's like it. It's long. I don't know. I guess it goes fast when you're always busy. Yeah, but, but yeah, it's.

Megan

That's really awesome.

Diane

The vibe in the shop is just like I'm so grateful for everybody. Like I go in there. I used to go in dreading it and like, just thinking like God like I hey, I'm uncomfortable there. Like, yeah, now it's.

Speaker

Mm-hmm.

Diane

Like they, you know, they almost lift me up like they support me. It's just that everyone there is just amazing and kind and great people. So. And then one of the people that you didn't interview, Aaron, is actually my I he he's my business partner now. Oh, that's awesome.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

Yeah. Yeah. So it's been, it's been a huge change, but for the better, finally.

Megan

Nice. And you've survived, and now you're 10 years.

AP

Sometimes you have to. You have to go through all the yuck and muck before you get to that spot where you're like. This is where we're supposed to. Be.

Diane

Yeah, yeah. And it's just you don't realize it's sometimes it's a long journey, but but it's it's we're in a good state. We're in a good spot right now. I think good, good. Well, congratulations.

AP

MHM.

Megan

Good. I'm happy to hear that. Yes, I'm 10 years. That's wonderful. Soon. Not yet, but soon.

Diane

Thanks 5. Yeah.

Megan

He's a puppy.

AP

And just simply, don't plop your fish. It just won't. It just want to bite her face.

Amy

I know I want to grab her little cheeks.

Diane

She you probably should because she's. Biting my face.

AP

All of my dogs. Had their ears bit by me? Yeah. Up.

Diane

My niece does that. My niece said that the Arthur had a like a biting spell for a while and he likes to bite the like.

Megan

Uh-huh.

Diane

He likes to bite like your ***** or your thighs. Or like. Getting very needy, you're like, come on, man.

Megan

They're they're very needy.

AP

What kind of what kind of dog is art?

Megan

He's a shark. Ohh. I'd be like at least buy me dinner first. Like, come on. Buy me a drink. Something bit him back and she said like. Yeah.

Diane

Sharp.

Amy

Guy too. OK, yeah.

Diane

But yeah, the one time I. Need. Learned. And then didn't he really didn't bite again? So.

Amy

Ohh, nice there you go. Yeah.

AP

You know you don't do it. You don't do it to hurt them, but. That's that's what. Mom or, you know, other older dogs could do, yeah.

Megan

Yeah.

Amy

For the correction.

AP

Yeah. OK, that's.

Diane

It worked good.

AP

Yeah, all of all of mine have had that at some point in time and they all look at me like. How are you doing?

Diane

That's the best look when you're. Like, Yep, that's right.

Amy

You heard me.

AP

Yep. Well, I I do a lot with Wesley right now. When he barks at things or people he sees I'm on a. Downstairs level, but from here I can see straight out to the street, but we're like ground level. Right here. And when he can see out and he barks at everybody like. They're allowed to. Be in their backyard. He's like. Yeah. OK. OK, mom. But but. Did you know that they're here? Yeah. Like, yeah. Yeah, they're allowed. They're allowed to be.

Megan

There. Yeah. Just let you know. I'll watch it.

AP

OK.

Amy

It's. Yeah. Yeah. In case you didn't know, that neighbor came home from her Caribou.

Megan

Yeah.

Amy

Yeah, they're always barking at my neighbor when she comes and goes. And I'm like, I know, I know she has the gall to come. Also, she owns the place without checking with you guys first, as if she lives there.

Megan

As if she lives there. Caribou is Minnesota Starbucks.

Diane

We have. We have so good.

Amy

Oh yeah, that's my friends in New York and.

Speaker

They didn't know.

Megan

What it was, yeah.

Amy

It's not in every state, but it's it's pretty it's it's all more places now.

AP

Well, I, I mean, I'm pretty sure I know.

Diane

We've had one before. I'm not sure if it's current or not, but I've definitely been to Caribou.

Megan

Ohh well now I look like an idiot. Nice.

Diane

I love all coffee places so.

Megan

Can't go longer.

Diane

I'm a big Tim horton's fan and we don't really have any. Tim horton's, which?

Megan

Makes me sad. We have some, and then they closed them all.

Amy

Tim horton's.

Megan

I think they closed all their, didn't they close all their United States?

AP

Tim horton's. Maybe there's there's some in Detroit. I was gonna say there was a new. There was a new one. Just not too terribly far from me off of rice.

Megan

OK, well I'm done talking. Is it still open?

AP

Last I went past it.

Megan

No.

Amy

Was ohh I thought they closed all the ones. In Minnesota? Well, I'm just.

Diane

How dare they?

Amy

How dare I've never been to one.

Megan

Tell me about it. So they had the best doughnuts, they just with Duncan, which like, I mean it's good, but not.

Diane

Oh, I love it.

Speaker

Ah.

Diane

I looked up. I love. I'm a. I'm a gas station coffee girl, so that works for me. I know where.

Megan

Tim Horton donut, like gas station doughnuts are pretty good. They are no gas. I'm talking about Duncan I.

AP

Yeah. Just don't go with. Just don't go with gas station hot dogs or sushi like.

Amy

Know.

AP

Those are, yeah, yeah.

Megan

Hard boiled eggs because that was that is not a good idea.

Amy

Yeah, that's all. Thanks, Megan can sink on those. I would not do exercise or sushi, but I would do a hot dog. Those things have been spinning around on there for decades. All the bacteria is dead. Yeah. It's all dead. Yeah. Nothing going to kill you.

Diane

That's actually the secret of you probably. Yeah.

Megan

Probably not even real meat.

Amy

Be real. So there's no meat in that. Meat. There's no meat, no.

Diane

Yeah, there can't be.

Amy

Well, is there anything else you would like to tell us? Anything that you any stories you want to tell or anything that you want to make sure our listeners know about your episode? Or about you.

Diane

I don't.

AP

I think so. I.

Diane

Think we covered a lot of stuff.

AP

Yeah.

Diane

Just that it's not there aren't like demons hanging around in our shop. It's very chill and very cool. Like, yeah, I actually don't. Even when when people come and ask like, oh, do you guys have ghosts? I'm like.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

No, no, cause I don't. I can't. I don't engage with it anymore. Only because I don't want to bring it all up. I also had a terrible review from the show, so I had to fight. I had to fight y'all to remove.

Megan

Yeah.

Amy

It. Oh my God, my God.

Diane

Is like some some I want to say. I think it was a guy but he was like this is this is you guys are fakers. You make stuff up for a popular like it was this rambling Yelp review and it was one star and I kept lagging it and it was so embarrassing because.

Megan

Here.

Diane

We don't have that. A ton of Google reviews, but maybe like 40 Yelp reviews, so it's pretty high.

Megan

Right. Right, yeah.

Diane

They're like, no, it's a it's a pellet review I'm like. He didn't get tattooed like well. Yeah. So someone reviewed us on Yelp. From the show.

Megan

They called us liars. Brad. Brad, this is awesome. Yeah. Oh, that's terrible.

Amy

OK, wow.

AP

No, that Chad really should. Just. Not. Yeah. Yeah, just. Yeah. That's like the reviews that you're like.

Diane

Are you OK, friend? It's your life. OK? Yeah.

Amy

Yeah.

Megan

Like do you need a hug? Maybe. Like what? What's going on?

AP

You know. You know what it was? It was. The Devil's Triangle Demons, who were like, we're not really there guys. They were born. At least they didn't burn.

Amy

Oh yes. Boy, little boy. Yeah, yeah. It down right? Yeah. They still burn it down.

Diane

Now they just you need terrible Yelp reviews.

Amy

Yeah, OK. They've changed tactics.

AP

You ever. Watched the show. Have you watched the show? Go, son. CBS either the UK version or the American version. Yeah. OK. Well in the American version, there's one who can type on the keyboard or on the phone or anything but.

Amy

It's like 1 goes straight, yeah.

AP

It's going like, come on, we've got the whole thing, guys. Just. Give me just give me he's like.

Amy

Three days to write the review forever. That's why you won't take it down, you know.

Diane

He said this was huge for me.

Megan

Yeah, they're like, you know, the date that works.

Amy

It took him. Three weeks to write. Hard. Good. They good.

Diane

Did they finally did? That was like, come on, dudes, you could do it.

Megan

Yeah.

Diane

Yeah, but yeah, yeah, it's been a it's been an interesting ride, for sure. And maybe I might actually watch dead files again. I didn't know about all that, what happened but. It's sad that Amy.

Amy

Yeah.

Diane

Left because I feel like she's definitely. The most human part. Of that show really helping people.

Amy

Yes. Yeah. Yeah, just.

Megan

It was very sad, but Cindy is great too. Yeah, she was.

Amy

Sunday was great. Yeah, Sunday was great. But you know, it's all been cancelled now, so yeah.

AP

And if you go on any chat anywhere, you'll get about 15 people asking where Amy went.

Amy

What happened to Amy? Cindy.

AP

Checking and when is it coming? Back when is, yeah.

Megan

Who's Cindy? Why? So then where did Amy go? I've started responding with troll answers like.

Speaker

Ohh.

Amy

Oh my God. They had just made-up some, really. Funny ones about.

Diane

I just.

Megan

We got abducted or she went to become a chicken farmer or, you know, like. Because if you do a click a 5 second Google search will tell you, yeah, yeah, it would be easy. It would be quicker to Google search than to go into Facebook and write the post, yes.

Amy

That's awesome.

Diane

Yeah.

Speaker

It's just me.

AP

My my parents went on a just a long weekend a couple of weeks ago my dad was riding and he was being his passenger Princess self. He was trying to look something up on Google, like how to get from Brussels to bastone or something like that. But he texted the group family chat.

Diane

No.

AP

So I just wrote back in a car in a couple of like one of my my brother wrote something back to you and it's like I meant to type that in Google like.

Amy

Really. Ohh love that I love it. Clearly it.

Megan

My mom would do. That's a bad move. Yeah, for sure.

AP

Yeah. So that just unlock to be telling people that they just need to Google. They maybe they think they're Googling.

Megan

Ohh funny. Yeah, maybe. Yeah.

Diane

Yeah, they're just waiting for, yeah.

Megan

Ask, jeez.

Amy

It's cheap.

Diane

Oh, God. Oh my God. You should reply to that. Should be your comment now happening to me. I don't know. Ask Jeeves. Who the.

Megan

That should be right ask.

AP

Hell is Jeeves? When he answered is she's my only answer.

Megan

Yeah, jeans, a chat, chat. GPI. Yeah. Well, Diane, thank you so much. We really appreciate you taking the time and chatting with us and showing us your.

Amy

Yes.

Diane

Thanks for having me, of course.

Megan

Puppy and your Kitty. Yeah.

Amy

It's lovely to meet all of you. Yes, thanks. It was.

AP

Yeah. Well, I just sent you an.

Amy

Yeah, let me. OK, I don't. I can't think of anything else right now. We went through my list and. I asked them.

Megan

Yeah.

Amy

All, so there's.

Diane

Yeah, I just kind of like the Thunder though. Tell you guys. OK, the oyster oyster house. Ohh, yes, Sir. Lunch. Yeah. So the oyster house.

Megan

Oh yeah, it was.

Diane

Is a bar. Oh, OK. Oysters for lunch? You probably had a liquid lunch.

AP

Makes more sense.

Megan

That makes yes, because it OK, that does make a lot more sense because I've looked.

Amy

That makes a lot more sense. So the oyster.

Diane

House is in doubt. Yeah, it's a bar. It's a. It also serves great fish sandwiches and oysters and seafood in general. But it is mainly a.

Megan

  1. OK. Right. Bar OK, because I'm like, who the **** is like, you know what time it is? It's time for some ******* oysters at lunch. Like.

Speaker

Which?

AP

It would explain getting into a fight right after lunch, right? Yeah. Yeah. OK, yeah.

Amy

Yes. Yeah. And and not paying his tab.

Megan

  1. Yeah, that makes, yeah, that they should have included that because I was. ******* confused, yeah?

Diane

You're like. Who does that? Who's like? Oysters, like 5 minute discussion on it. Yeah, yeah.

Megan

Yeah. Fighting people, we still talked about it like I will still bring it up to the point of like, oh, it's going some ******* oysters at 1:00 PM. He probably ate like 1 oyster and 10 beers. Yeah. Yeah. That does make so much more sense now. Yeah. Thank you.

Amy

  1. That makes a lot more. Sense. I'm glad. That A and and now going out to the bar will forever in my mind be. Let's go get some oysters.

Megan

Yes.

Amy

Yeah. So it's sugar, right? Yeah.

Megan

As it should be. We're gonna go get some oysters, but see, I've been like, the **** are you?

AP

It it's just like.

Megan

Doing oysters for lunch. That is a nice time meal, oyster.

AP

Our campus, so. Every campus that has the library bar nearby. Because you're going to.

Megan

Oh yeah, because you're very. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

AP

Go study. At the library. Maybe that's the very Midwest thing, but like every every small town has a library bar at some point in time. Yeah, it.

Speaker

Yeah.

Megan

I don't know. When I was in college, I studied, I wasn't drinking. That's illegal. Yeah.

AP

Is a good idea? Have you been catching up since then or? What? Yes, no.

Amy

Yes.

Megan

No, I did drink a lot. I went to school in Wisconsin. Come on, you know.

Amy

Once you drink a lot skinny.

Megan

Yeah, it's Wisconsin thirsty Thursday.

AP

Oh, it's tipsy Tuesday, wasted Wednesday, Thursday, Thursday. Forget Friday. There is no sober Saturday at all. I think it's like slosh Saturdays or.

Megan

Yes.

Amy

No.

AP

Something like that.

Megan

And then there's recover Sundays.

Amy

And I don't I don't. That's Sunday. Sunday. Yeah. Yeah. And all that's closed.

AP

  1. Think Monday have a.

Diane

No Monday. No, Monday. Monday.

AP

Might be the recovery day.

Megan

Yeah, Sunday you had to do brunch.

AP

Yes.

Amy

All right, well, that settled.

AP

As you can see how we can. Very quickly off of one thing.

Speaker

Yeah.

Amy

We we've already done the Minnesota goodbye where we've tried to say goodbye.

Megan

Twice. Twice so.

Diane

Yeah, that's alright. I'm. I'm used to the Midwest, the Midwest, politeness and the you said.

Amy

Yeah. Yeah, the third, the third third is usually the charm, but sometimes it goes on even longer than that. Somebody slapped and I do you want me to?

Megan

Even go well.

Diane

Irish Dubai and. Just hit end.

Megan

These ******* ladies with their oysters.

AP

Well, yes, Diane. It was lovely talking with you. I just gave you a follow on Instagram so I can see your all the lovely artwork that you guys have at your shop if you want to give the name of your shop. So people.

Diane

Lovely Steve. Thanks Neil.

Megan

Yeah, give a little plug for your shop.

AP

And know that it's just a great place to go.

Diane

Pittsburgh it's called Pittsburgh Tattoo Company and we are located in downtown Pittsburgh on Smithfield St.

Megan

Ten years this January.

Diane

Ten years we were the only ones in downtown, and there are a few more.

Megan

Your trendsetters? Oh geez, though. Oh, geez. Oh, geez, that sounds. Yeah. Yeah, great. All right. Well, thanks, Diane. Have a great night. Thanks. Bye.

Amy

Well, still the best I'm sure.
